Chapter 51 Encounter

Chapter 51 Encounter

"Okay, let's go take a look."

Akio Kawakami stood up and said excitedly that he had never been to a geisha district before.

"..."

I don't think your main purpose is to investigate.

"Xi Shoulang, let's go, let's go, I'm here for a mission."

Kawakami Akio grabbed Rengoku Shujuro and headed out. After informing the other members to get some rest, they excitedly rushed towards their destination.

Yan Sheng looked at the bill in front of him and couldn't help but shudder. Sensing something bad was about to happen, Yan Sheng flipped through it with a troubled expression and saw that the person from two days ago still hadn't paid.

Want to get something for free?

Yan Sheng summoned Dong, who was also in a difficult position regarding this person. Looking at Yan Sheng's expression, she helplessly spoke up.

"He's the son of a nobleman, a man of high rank and great power. Almost no one dares to offend him. Since he's unwilling, we can only accept it and pay for the prostitutes ourselves. But..."

"He spends a lot."

"Yes."

"A higher rank can crush you," Yan Sheng thought. He looked at the situation carefully again and asked other people. He found that there was indeed no other way.

Fine, I'll choose him for dinner.

Yan Sheng stopped worrying about the dying man and went to do other things. Looking at the complicated and messy bills, Yan Sheng knew that Jiang Chuntao probably couldn't manage them.

"Lord Yansheng."

Dong knocked on the door and called out softly.

"What is it?"

Iwakatsu stopped what he was doing, stood up and got stuck for a moment. Looking down, he saw that the hem of his kimono skirt was caught. Resigned, he pulled it out and walked to the door to open it.

The area was almost completely shaded from the sun, and Yan Sheng didn't pay much attention, simply walking out to look at Dong kneeling on the ground.

"My lord, two warriors wish to see you."

"ah?"

Yan Sheng was baffled. He didn't recognize anyone in his current state; he should be looking for the person in charge of the arcade.

"I'll wait, I'll be there."

"Yes, Lord Yansheng."

Dong rose, bowed, and slowly left. Yan Sheng turned back; he figured he should take another quick look at the documents to be on the safe side.

—On the other side—

Kawakami Akio and Rengoku Shujuro searched several other places and used all their skills before finally finding out about this place at dusk.

After they entered, they were led into the attic's main hall. The moment they approached, they could tell the attic was completely different from the first floor. The design was ingenious. Although it was as bright as day, no sunlight seemed to penetrate it.

"There's a problem..."

Rengoku Shujuro whispered to Kawakami Akio, his nerves on high alert, ready to face any danger that might come at any moment.

While the two looked around, Dong returned and explained the situation to them, and prepared wine and snacks.

"Miss Dong, what are you doing here?"

Douma opened the door of one of the rooms in the corridor and walked over with a grin, asking a question. His eyes were curved, and he flirted with the two women like a butterfly, his seven-colored pupils very eye-catching.

The moment Kawakami Akimi saw Doma, he instinctively reached for the sword at his waist, but didn't draw it. Rengoku Shujuro pressed his hand down and gently shook his head.

There are too many ordinary people here, and this ghost doesn't seem to have any intention of attacking, so it's best to keep things calm for now.

"Oh, who are these two?"

Doma looked at Kawakami Akio and Rengoku Shujuro with curiosity. He could tell from their body language and subtle movements that they knew his identity as a demon.

"These two were originally looking for Miss Momohime, but she left a few days ago, saying she had something to discuss with you, sir."

"Oh? Miss Momo, what a pity, she's no longer here, gentlemen."

Although Doma had never met any members of the Demon Slayer Corps, he had heard of them and knew about them. He could tell that the two people in front of him were not only members of the Demon Slayer Corps, but also possibly the so-called Pillars.

His ambiguous words and playful demeanor made Rengoku Shujuro's expression turn sour. He felt there was a hidden meaning in his words, but judging from the other person's appearance, he was different from the demons he usually encountered, and he could sense a dangerous aura emanating from him.

"Okay, we understand."

Kawakami Akimi stared intently at Doma, his hand gripping his undrawn katana tightly, his entire body tense. He could sense that Doma was strong, and his intuition told him he couldn't win, not even against Rengoku Shujuro.

"Sir, is there anything I can do for you?"

Although Dong didn't understand what they were talking about, she knew that Doma was a guest who was very familiar with Lord Yansheng, and his identity must be quite extraordinary.

"No, I just came out to take a look. The architectural design of this arcade is quite nice."

Doma waved goodbye to the two departing girls and casually replied.

"Of course, this was built by someone at a high price that Miss Momohime paid not long ago."

Fuyu confidently addressed Doma, then, as if suddenly remembering something, apologized to the three of them, saying, "I just realized I still have work to do. The master will be here soon, please rest for a bit."

After saying that, she hurriedly left the attic, leaving only the three of them and the sounds of laughter and playfulness coming from behind the walls.

"You two would be better off leaving as soon as possible, otherwise it's hard to say whether you'll survive."

Doma held a golden fan that had appeared out of nowhere in his right hand, near his lips, and the number "Upper Moon Five" appeared in his seven-colored pupils.

"..."

Neither of them replied, standing there gripping their Nichirin Blades tightly at their waists, watching Doma warily.

When Iwakatsu was almost there, he heard Doma's voice and became alert. He knew that Doma had come here with him to play, but as long as they weren't hunting here, Iwakatsu didn't care about him.

But it's strange that he said this now, since no one knows his ghost identity.

Yan Sheng, wearing wooden clogs, walked towards the direction from which the sound came. When he was about halfway to the hall, Yan Sheng sensed two familiar presences.

Yan Sheng stopped in his tracks, his brows furrowing slightly. He sensed something was amiss, a bad premonition. But he still had to keep an eye on the oppressive aura emanating from Douma; he couldn't be sure what kind of trouble Douma might suddenly cause.

"Aren't you afraid? Even though you're an organization that specializes in killing demons, you should know what you can and can't deal with, right?"

Doma couldn't understand it. The people he usually encountered were all broken, in pain, and pitiful. Even ordinary people on the street rarely saw people like these two.

With a fearless and resolute gaze

"Shut up, you're just a ghost."

Kawakami Akio growled in a low voice, not daring to raise his voice, lest he attract the attention of ordinary people.

Whether ordinary people could hear it or not is unknown, but Yan Sheng, who was not far away, heard it clearly. He now knew where his bad premonition came from.

"Oh dear, how scary~ But Lord Kokushibo won't let you cause such trouble~ You agree, right?"

Iwakatsu, who was about to turn and leave, was stabbed in the back by Doma. He stared blankly as the two of them turned to look at him at the same time.

Damn it, is he trying to get revenge for me stabbing him in the hand yesterday?

"Yan Sheng?"

Kawakami Akio and Rengoku Shujuro were surprised that a ghost had approached silently. When they heard the familiar name of Kokushibo, they instinctively turned their heads to look, only to freeze on the spot.
