Chapter 33 Upper Moon Two
It's over.
This was Hoshino Shirone's first thought upon seeing Iwakatsu. She had only recently risen to Upper Moon Two, and due to Muzan Kibutsuji's arrangements, she had never left without orders, but she had heard of Upper Moon One, the terrifying superior who had killed three Upper Moons in one move.
Thinking of this, Hoshino Shirone trembled even more violently. Actually, other ghosts had come here before, but in her eyes they were all useless trash. Over time, she became increasingly indifferent to the ghosts that came, thinking they were just ordinary ghosts coming to collect something anyway.
Iwakatsu looked at Hoshino Shiroine. He had encountered this kind of boring and childish behavior before. They didn't recognize the sole heir of the top family among the three major families in the circle and treated him like an ordinary fool. They wanted to use nonsensical humiliation and suppression to show off their own specialness.
It was truly laughable; Yan Sheng hadn't encountered such a ridiculous situation in a long time. Looking at the other person slumped there, trembling and looking pitiful, Yan Sheng felt it was a waste of time.
"I...hate people who have no concept of time."
The oppressive aura emanating from Iwakatsu grew increasingly intense. Hoshino Shirane trembled, her body completely out of her control, unable to suppress its power. She hadn't expected that the demons who had arrived were the only two standing above her.
"Please...please forgive me, Lord Kokushibo."
"Whoosh—".
Yan Sheng didn't want to listen to any more useless things, so he pulled out his sword and went to see the Void Crying God.
"Kuroshibo, she's still useful."
The voice of Muzan Kibutsuji caused Iwakatsu to pause in his downward motion. He looked at Hoshino Shiro, noticing the change in the other's blood-red vertical pupils, and then retracted the Hollow Crying God into his waistband.
Even more annoyed
Yan Sheng walked expressionlessly past Hoshino Shiro, who had reverted to her original form, and headed outside. He wanted to finish quickly and return to Infinity Castle.
What the hell? I'm being targeted at work and I can't even get my money back. So annoying!
Seeing Iwakatsu's actions, Hoshino Shirone hurriedly stood up; she now needed to comply with all his demands. In the instant she was nearly killed, she had realized the difference between Iwakatsu and the other demons.
"Lord Kokushibo, let me help you make up for my previous rudeness."
As Hoshino Shiroe spoke, she wrapped her arms around Iwakatsu's arm. She still looked like she did in her human form, and she trusted he wouldn't refuse.
"unnecessary."
Iwakatsu frowned; this behavior disgusted him even more. He shoved Hoshino Shiro back several steps. Iwakatsu felt that if he weren't worried about killing her, he would have given her a good beating.
"that,."
Hoshino Momon was a little flustered. She didn't know what to do and could only silently follow behind Iwakatsu. Iwakatsu glanced at her but ignored her and walked outside.
He wants to go see the so-called blue spider lily first.
The courtyard was quite large. Iwakatsu intended to walk out normally, but after wandering around for a while, he still couldn't find the gate. Hoshino Shiro, who was following behind, also noticed Iwakatsu circling around. She jogged up to him and hesitantly spoke.
"Um, Lord Kokushibo, my house is very complicated. Let me show you the way."
Iwakatsu looked at Hoshino Shiroine and realized that although she was dressed very maturely, she actually looked quite young. She still had a bit of baby fat on her face.
Seeing the other person like this, Yan Sheng sensed a familiar shadow: the daughter of Yan Sheng's mother's best friend. That girl, a few years younger than him, had a bit of a princess complex, perhaps because she was born with a princess's life—her father was a CEO worth billions, and her mother was a famous director who had won many international awards.
Come to think of it, the first time I met that little girl, she deliberately led me to an empty courtyard and then ran away. At that time, I couldn't find my way anywhere and was very angry, but because of my pride, I didn't get angry. Instead, I always kept a blank expression when I was around her.
The other girl realized she was angry and followed her like that too. The little girl, who was only seven or eight years old at the time, couldn't keep up at all and could only walk a few steps and then run a few steps. At that time, it was just because she was so cute, and she was her mother's best friend's daughter, that I let it go.
Speaking of which, the Hoshino family seems to be a large family. In Tsugikuni Iwakatsu's memory, the other party was mainly a merchant and the organizer of the largest auction.
"What's your name?"
Yan Sheng blurted out, only realizing what he had asked when he saw the other person's stunned expression.
"Baiyin, Hoshino Baiyin. That's the name my father gave me."
Seemingly sensing Iwakatsu's softening, Hoshino Shiroe answered somewhat loudly. She didn't want Iwakatsu to dislike her; her brother had once said that he had to work hard to please the rich and powerful in order to protect the business left by their father.
"When...did you become a ghost?"
“About two weeks ago, on my fourteenth birthday, my brother gambled and broke up with them. He wanted me to pay off his debts, but I refused, so I stabbed my brother to death.”
Hoshino Shiroine is a talkative person; even if Iwakatsu doesn't ask, she can talk about most of it on her own.
Fourteen years old.
Yan Sheng recalled the other party's deliberate closeness to him not long ago. At the time, he thought it was just a personal problem of hers, but now he felt something was off.
"Why...why did you do that just now?"
Yan Sheng now felt that the girl in front of him was a little girl who knew nothing, and with the shadow of an old friend in his heart, his tone subconsciously softened a lot.
"My brother said that doing it this way makes the adults happy. I also think it's the most convenient way."
Yan Sheng was speechless. In this era, women's fate was entirely up to them. Regardless of their social status, their future depended on their families.
"I'm leaving."
Yan Sheng lost interest in arguing with the child. He got up and jumped onto the wall. After a few leaps, he stood on the eaves and saw the bustling street.
People don't go out much at night, but perhaps because it's close to the center, the foot traffic is still considerable. But for Yan Sheng, this is really rare; he's seen crowds of people before.
Yan Sheng looked up at the sky. There were no dark clouds in the sky today, and the moonlight illuminated everyone.
It's a full moon.
Yan Sheng hadn't seen the outside world so bright in a long time; the pure white moonlight illuminated everything except the shadows. Since coming into this world, he seemed to have only been exposed to the sun for two or three days before turning into a demon.
Yan Sheng jumped into a small alley, mimicked his appearance, and walked towards the street. His straw hat was gone, so he had to endure the various stares of the people around him as he took out a piece of paper and, following the information on it, found the shop with the blue flowers.
That shop was a treasure trove that collected all sorts of rare and exotic items, displaying various treasures it had acquired. Yan Sheng looked at the various items displayed in the glass, including a blue and white porcelain bowl.
Yan Sheng really liked that bowl; it was similar to the set he used to have at home. He planned to buy it when he asked the shopkeeper about it later.
As I walked through the exhibition to the very back, Iwakatsu bumped into someone while trying to find a shop on the second floor.
Iwakatsu looked down and saw a woman with long black hair, styled in a large, low bun, secured with a flower hair clip. She wore a dark purple kimono decorated with wavy, pale purple floral patterns.
"Oh, I'm sorry."
The woman slightly raised her head, revealing a pale face that contrasted sharply with her kimono. Her eyes were gentle, like a light pink mist, and her lips were rosy.
"Tamayo?"
