“Miss is right.” Rulan smiled. She hadn’t poisoned the two maids; she had just let them catch a cold wind that night.
Soon the princess arrived in front of Yunzhi and said directly, "I heard that the two nannies are ill, so I brought people here to take a look at them. I wonder if Miss Yun could do me a favor?"
"Of course!" Yunzhi smiled and then instructed, "Rulan, since the Princess is so kind, take them to see the old lady's courtyard."
"Yes, Miss!" Rulan replied with a smile, then said to the Princess and her entourage, "Princess, please!"
The eldest princess glanced at Yunzhi suspiciously, then followed Rulan toward the courtyard where the two nannies lived.
As she walked, she couldn't stop thinking that Yunzhi's reaction was a bit off. Logically speaking, Yunzhi should have felt guilty for bringing people to her door like that.
But she showed no expression at all. Was she too good at hiding it, or was there another reason?
The princess couldn't understand it, so she went into the courtyard where the two old women lived, still puzzled.
It must be said that Yunzhi had put a lot of thought into the arrangement of the courtyard. This made the Princess even more suspicious. Yunzhi couldn't possibly be unaware that these two nannies had come on orders, and that their purpose was not simply to teach her manners.
But she was quite different; she didn't seem to mind at all, and instead made such thoughtful arrangements for the maids.
Yunzhi didn't care what the other party was thinking. After having Rulan take them to the nanny's courtyard, she went about her business. She wouldn't change her schedule or plans because of the arrival of the Princess.
After all, the eldest princess didn't come to see her.
When the princess arrived at the courtyard where the two nannies lived, she easily saw them.
"This servant greets the princess." The two maids were startled to see the princess arrive. Forgetting that they were still sick, they immediately got out of bed.
"Grannies, you may rise." The princess waved her hand, signaling the two to stand up, and said, "I heard that you two are ill, so I brought a doctor with me to take a look at you."
The old women were moved but didn't know what to do.
They were merely ill, yet the princess had come to visit them. To be honest, they were somewhat flattered. Of course, they couldn't refuse the princess's concern.
After all, they were the Empress Dowager's people, and the Eldest Princess was the Empress Dowager's daughter.
"Thank you, Princess Xie."
"The nannies are too kind. Physician Wu, please go and examine the nannies."
At the princess's command, the accompanying imperial physicians immediately stepped forward to examine the two nannies.
Qiu Feng followed, secretly observing the two old women. However, after observing them for a long time, he couldn't see any signs of poisoning.
After taking their pulses for a while, Physician Wu stood up and said to the Princess, "Princess, they have only caught a cold. They will be fine after taking two doses of medicine."
After hearing Physician Wu's words, the eldest princess frowned and then instructed Qiu Feng, "Young Master Qiu, go and take a look."
"Yes, Your Highness." Qiu Feng responded and stepped forward to examine the two matrons.
Then, he looked at the princess and said, "Your Highness, I did not discover that the two of them were poisoned."
"Could it be that I'm overthinking things?" The eldest princess looked at the two nannies, then at Rulan, and muttered to herself.
If they really just have a cold, then she seems to be making a mountain out of a molehill.
However, she still trusted Physician Wu's medical skills and Qiu Feng's expertise in poisons. Since neither of them could detect that the old woman was poisoned, she was probably just overthinking it.
