Chapter 27 Buying Out Family Ties

Seeing that Yun Cheng remained silent, Yun Zhi couldn't help but sneer and asked, "Why isn't Father saying anything?"

"You?" Yun Cheng glared at Yun Zhi with a displeased expression, scrutinizing her with a critical gaze. After a long while, he finally said, "Yun Zhi, you seem to have changed quite a bit."

“Father, if it were you, you would change after experiencing something like this. After all, if you don’t change, you will really be humiliated to death by the An family.”

"If that's the case, why didn't you tell your family beforehand?" Yun Cheng said, somewhat displeased. Even if Yun Zhi had told them a few hours earlier, things wouldn't have turned out this way.

"If I tell him, will my father help me?"

"certainly!"

Seeing Yun Cheng's obvious guilty conscience, Yun Zhi didn't want to waste any more words with him and went straight to the point: "Father, why don't you tell me what brings you here today?"

"What could I possibly want? I just came to see you."

Yun Cheng's words were not believed by Yun Zhi, nor even by himself.

"Is that so? In that case, you've seen it all. I'm fine, you can leave now." Yunzhi said calmly, making a gesture as if to see her off.

Yun Cheng's face darkened, and it took him a while to recover before he said coldly, "I heard that you said in public that you wanted to sever ties with us?"

"Yes!" Yunzhi nodded. She had indeed said those words in public, and there was nothing to hide.

"Alright, since that's the case, let's talk about severing ties."

What are you trying to say?

"You can sever ties if you want, but you can't just do it so casually. First, you have to write a letter of severance; second, you announced this in public, causing the Yun family to lose face, so you have to make amends."

Yunzhi looked at Yuncheng with a mocking expression. Sure enough, he wouldn't act without a reason. She knew it; he'd suddenly come to her after all—it was all about money.

Fortunately, she wasn't actually a teenage girl, and she didn't have any feelings for the person in front of her. Otherwise, she would have been heartbroken to hear those words.

Yun Cheng's meaning was very clear: he could sever ties, but he had to pay money, meaning he wanted to buy off their kinship.

"What, you're unwilling? In that case, take back what you said before. Also, you have to follow your family's arrangements. Even if you don't go to the nunnery, you have to stay at the family temple for a while. Now, you..."

Seeing Yun Cheng's self-righteousness, Yun Zhi interrupted him directly.

I agree!

Upon hearing these three words, Yun Cheng's face darkened further, and he said coldly, "Are you sure? You should know that once we sever ties, if anything really happens to you in the future, we really won't take responsibility."

"I'm absolutely certain!" Yunzhi nodded. If something really happened, the Yun family definitely wouldn't care about her. It's better to cut ties with these people early on than to get involved with them. That way, she can avoid a lot of trouble later.

Of course, her actions will inevitably draw criticism. But that's okay, let people say what they want, it won't hurt her anyway.

"Alright, since you have such backbone, then sign this agreement now." Yun Cheng took out a few sheets of paper from his sleeve and unfolded them in front of Yun Zhi.

Yunzhi looked at Yuncheng, who was already prepared, and her face once again showed a mocking expression. Sure enough, no matter how nicely they spoke, it couldn't change the fact that they were cold-hearted.

The Yun family really only cares about money, not people.

She's really learned something new – abandoning her daughter for money.
