Chapter 278 Asking for Advice

This chance encounter with Jiang Chu was purely accidental. Except for Qin Lan who was relatively happy, everyone else had their own thoughts, including me.

I had just sent her away not long ago, and it was really strange that she suddenly appeared now.

I felt very complicated. Looking at the bright smile on Qin Lan's face, I didn't know whether it was a blessing or a curse.

But looking at it from another angle, as long as my beloved woman is happy.

Jiang Chu's appearance will inevitably disrupt our plans.

Therefore, our journey came to a halt.

"Everyone, let's find an inn to rest first."

I couldn't help but suggest, my eyes never falling on the woman they were supporting.

Qin Lan took my arm and smiled at her companion: "That's a good suggestion."

I touched her head and looked at her innocent face. I really hoped it could stay like this forever.

We walked aimlessly. Since this place was quite remote, the inn was certainly not easy to find.

Watching the yellow sand rolling by, stirring up the dust on the ground.

The bleak scenery highlighted the desolation. Qin Lan hugged her arms tightly. I noticed something was wrong with her and quickly reached out to hug her.

"Come on, isn't it enough that you two kissed me in the corner? You have to bully me, a group of single dogs, in public. If I get hurt internally, I'll make you two pay!" The fat man on the side couldn't help but complain, still holding Jiang Chu's hand.

Jack hung his arms, his face expressionless and still indifferent.

Among our group, Jack was the calmest, as if nothing could ever shake him.

"Hey, look, there are two guys in front." Qin Lan shouted in surprise.

I looked in the direction of her finger and saw two men approaching us with leisurely steps.

I was immediately happy, because there was finally a solution.

I quickly stepped forward and blocked their way.

"Excuse me, little brother. Is there any place to stay nearby? We are all from other places, so we don't know the local situation."

Seeing that the two of them looked very familiar, I felt at ease to tell them the truth.

The most important thing right now is to find a place to rest.

"Then you may be disappointed. There is no inn within a few kilometers."

"No inn? How is that possible?"

Qin Lan, who had caught up, said incredulously, her eyes full of suspicion: "Such a small town, and you tell me you have no place to live?"

When the two men heard this, they sneered, "Believe it or not!"

"Brother, please give us some advice. I think as locals you must have a solution."

I asked the other party to help us in a nice way. As a stranger in a foreign land, we had to act respectfully.

"Okay, since you're so sincere, I'll tell you a way. But it's just a legend, and I can't guarantee that you can find it."

One of them seemed to be a little soft-hearted, but was immediately stopped by the other man.

"Brother, are you crazy? There's no way that place could even exist. Don't waste their energy. Let's go."

The younger man kept pulling at the other man, trying to get him away.

My mind raced, and I came up with a plan. I feigned contempt and sarcastically said, "You're not just trying to trick us. There's no inn here, and you don't know. Forget it, Qin Lan, let's go."

I pulled Qin Lan and prepared to leave, but was quickly stopped by someone behind me.

"What are you talking about? How could I lie to you? After you exit this avenue, go west at the first intersection and walk 300 meters. Then go north and you will come across a Xiangyun Inn on the way. But that's just what I heard from others. Whether it exists or not is another matter."

My face curved up: "Thank you both."

After knowing where we were going, we set off in a hurry.

We walked in the direction the man had just mentioned, and the further we went, the more desolate the scenery became.

"Are those two men deliberately teasing and deceiving us?"

The fat man couldn't help complaining, and when he was about to start cursing, I suddenly saw a fog in front of him.

"Fatty, look, the front is all wrapped in fog."

"Yeah, I feel like this place isn't a good place. There must be something wrong."

I nodded and glanced at Jack, who was staring at the fog with a dreamy look on his face.

"The fog is spreading. Should we continue forward or flee?"

The fat man asked anxiously. Qin Lan grabbed my arm and leaned against me tightly: "What should I do?"

I touched Qin Lan and signaled her to calm down: "Don't be afraid, I'm here."

Out of the corner of my eye, I seemed to see Jack take a step forward. I knew he had no intention of retreating, so I quickly rushed forward alone.

"Fatty, we're all seasoned veterans. We've seen all sorts of big things. Are you still afraid of this?"

The fat man was persuaded by me and stopped talking.

The white fog slowly approached. I gritted my teeth, strode forward, and fell into the fog.

We had no idea what was behind the fog before we came in, and I was also very nervous.

As soon as we crossed the white wall, a blinding white light hit us. We couldn't help but close our eyes. When the light faded and we adjusted to it, we opened our eyes again and found ourselves on a familiar road.

"Isn't this the small town we just saw?" the fat man exclaimed.

"We are back again?" Qin Lan yelled, making everyone's backs numb.

I looked closely and found that it was not that simple.

Although the scene at this moment is somewhat similar to the small town just now, everyone can clearly see that there is a bustling crowd here, which is completely different from the deserted one just now.

Because of the lively atmosphere, we were not too scared.

"That inn is over there!" Jack pointed forward.

Sure enough, fifty meters away, there was a tall building with a plaque with the words "Xiangyun Inn" written in large letters.

Our group quickly entered the store and asked the boss to reserve three private rooms for us.

After a busy day, I can finally calm down after dinner.

I stood upstairs and watched Jack sitting alone under a tree downstairs to enjoy the cool air. I couldn't help but go downstairs and sit next to him.

"Jack, there's something I want to ask you."

"What's the matter? Tell me!"

"You don't know about the Nether Pearl, do you?"

Jack pretended not to hear, and the air suddenly became stagnant.

"Speak up!"

"I'm sorry, I can't tell you."

Jack refused outright, his tone cold.

"Oh, just reveal a little bit." I requested again and again, and finally he couldn't resist.

"The Nether Pearl is a great aid in exploring ancient tombs, but it's a shame it's fallen into the hands of the Black Cloak."

"Ah, it was stolen." I felt a little sorry and secretly made up my mind that I must take it back one day.

"So there must be other people who understand this magic weapon better than us."

I nodded and came up with a little plan in my mind.
