Chapter 299 The thick fog dissipates

"Are you okay?" I asked the fat man worriedly while using the blade to boost the power to wave away the attacking fog.

The fat man and I switched positions, and Jack helped us watch our backs and block the small spaces. Because the three of us were gathered together, we were on guard and would not be easily separated by the monsters, reducing the possibility of being defeated one by one.

The monster tried to attack the gap between the three of us, but when it found it couldn't separate us, it started to whimper. Then the fire got more intense, and even Fatty and I were almost unable to withstand it.

"No, we won't be able to keep going like this. We'll soon run out of strength. Jack, cover Fatty. This monster is preventing Fatty from drawing his sword. Maybe Fatty's sword has an attack effect on it."

Before Jack could finish his words, the fog formed a huge face with layers of fog surrounding it, making the air around it hot. A heat wave hit the fat man's and my face, forming a gray fog that covered our eyes and blocked their vision.

This huge face spit out a thick fog, which directly hit the sword on the fat man's waist, preventing the fat man's hand from touching the sword.

"This won't work! It's getting stronger, Fatty can't handle it!" I quickly rejected Fatty's suggestion and stepped back in fear at the huge head in front of me. I could clearly feel the air becoming scorching hot as the mist formed into a face. I felt like I was in a small alchemy furnace. My clothes were ablaze, forming small flames that danced on them.

"Ah!" I hurriedly slapped my body, trying to put out the flames on my body, because although these flames were not big, they slowly burned my skin, making me anxious.

The fat man didn't understand why his sword didn't make any sound. He could only try to draw the sword at his waist, but the fog surrounded his waist. It didn't attack his waist, but he couldn't drive it away either. His hand couldn't get close to the sword. When he stretched it out, he could feel as if his hand was burning, and an intense burning sensation was climbing up his hand.

The fat man tried again, trying to endure the burning pain and stretch his hand to the magic sword at his waist. The closer he got to the sword, the more obvious the pain of burned skin became. He had a feeling that his hand might be crippled, as if it had been burned into the bones.

Suddenly, I rushed over while shouting "Be careful!" and knocked the defenseless fat man to the ground.

The fat man only felt a figure, and then he was pressed to the ground by the impact. A mist slid over his head and hit the ground heavily, leaving a deep and large pit.

I soon felt a burning sensation around my waist, and quickly left the fat man's body, rolling on the ground, getting rid of the burning flames, and standing up in a somewhat embarrassed manner. My clothes were basically burnt, and some of my hair was also singed. A surge of anger burned in my heart. I looked at the murderous snake demon in my eyes, saw the thick fog around the fat man's waist, frowned and said, "Are you okay?"

Seeing that I was in a worse state than he was, the fat man became even more worried about me. He shook his head and looked at the pit carved by the thick fog. He knew that if it weren't for me, he would probably be like the pit, with a hole in his body. He said to me sincerely, "Thank you!"

I didn't answer the fat man. Looking at the big face floating in the air, I felt a ball of rage in my heart. I wanted to knock the other party to the ground and avenge my hair. However, I would not tell the fat man about my feelings. I just suppressed it, turned my head to look at the fat man's bloody hand, and some worry appeared on my face.

"Give your hand some emergency treatment!" I looked at the hand and immediately tore off a piece of cloth from my clothes. Anyway, the clothes were already so tattered, and this piece of cloth didn't matter anymore.

Jack continued to deal with the more scattered fog, waiting for the fat man to finish bandaging.

The fat man took the cloth from me and made a temporary bandage himself to prevent excessive bleeding and physical collapse.

At this point, I looked at the fat guy and said, "What are your plans?"

The fat man looked at the fog still lingering around his waist and said anxiously, "I wanted to pull out the knife on my body to see if I could control it, but now I can't pull it out because of this monster thing on my waist."

I looked at the thing on his waist, touched my sleeve, looked at the big face, squinted my eyes, and said, "It seems that it doesn't want to pull out the sword in your hand. Although I don't know the reason, Fatty just observed it and found that since it formed a face, its attack power has decreased a lot. Each attack needs time to wait before a large-scale attack."

The fat man understood what I meant, nodded, and said, "I understand. After the next large-scale attack is over, I will start pulling out this magic sword. Thank you for your hard work."

I smiled slightly, and the three of them stood in front and behind with tacit understanding, one responsible for long-range attacks and the other for close-range attacks. They threw their strength into the thick fog without any spare energy, causing a lot of small fog to disappear.

Soon, the face formed by the fog began to shake violently. We all understood that the attack was coming and we were on guard cautiously.

A ball of mist mixed with flames was sprayed towards the three of us at a speed that was difficult to capture with the naked eye. The three of us quickly separated to dodge, but we didn't expect that this ball of mist with flames seemed to have its own consciousness and tracked the three of us separately.

The fat man and I ran towards the tree roots at the same time. He stepped on the tree top and did a backflip to avoid the separated flames. But I ran towards the cobra demon, trying to lure it over.

It was a pity that he discovered me and shot out a strong venom, which I dodged and fell to the ground, corroding the ground. I quickly ran in the other direction, stepped on a branch, and rolled over when he approached.

The flame mist stuck to the tree trunk and slowly corroded it. The flame slowly went out because there was nothing to burn.

As the corrosion deepened, a hole appeared in the tree, and by the time it lost its corrosive properties, it was almost falling.

While there wasn't much fog left, I quickly moved towards the fat man. Seeing that he was still fighting off the fog, I said, "Go figure out if this monster is a ghost. Leave the rest to Jack."
