Chapter 353 Fifth Floor

So what will be on the fifth floor?

The three of us took a brief rest, and after I felt the pain in my body was no longer so unbearable, I continued to walk up the stairs to the fifth floor.

As expected, as soon as we walked up to the fifth floor, we saw a huge plaque with three gold-plated characters "Criminal Court" written on it, and the layout of the place was also like a prison.

The most eye-catching thing is the wounded man tied to the cross in the innermost part of the prison and the weak woman kneeling at the door of the prison.

This kind of situation is a bit confusing.

I looked up at the fifth floor and found that the staircase to the sixth floor was at the very end of the prison, behind the man tied to the cross.

If we want to get through, we must first pass the woman kneeling in front of the prison warden, then pass through the long cells, and finally reach the place where the man is tied up.

But how should they get there? What was the meaning of this arrangement? What dangers might there be?

The three of us looked at each other, and then tiptoed inside at the same time, not daring to make a sound for fear of disturbing the silence here.

But after taking only a few steps, I suddenly stopped. Jack looked back at me in confusion. I raised my chin towards the back of the man tied to the cross. Jack looked in confusion as I prompted, and soon discovered that the door leading to the sixth floor from the fifth floor was locked.

He widened his eyes in surprise, then turned to look at me with a frown.

I curled my lips, raised my chin again, and gestured towards the chest of the woman who was kneeling on the ground with her head lowered.

Jack looked again, his eyes suddenly lighting up.

That’s right, there was a key hanging on the woman’s chest, and it was most likely the key to open the door.

But now there is a problem, how are they going to take the key away?

This place is full of weirdness. The woman kneeling on the ground is obviously Princess Qian Ning. If she is woken up, who knows what unexpected things will happen.

Jack seemed to think so too. He frowned and looked at the key on the woman's chest. He didn't speak or move for a long time.

I don't know how long it took, but he suddenly narrowed his eyes, took off the dagger from his waist and put it in my hand, then pointed at the key on the woman's chest.

I was stunned and immediately realized that he wanted me to cut the rope directly. As long as I was careful, I shouldn't be discovered.

I thought with a glimmer of hope.

I tiptoed up to her, squatted down in front of her, then used a dagger to gently pick up the key from her neck and cut the red rope that was tied to it.

Without the red string, the key pendant fell to the ground with a sudden sound. I reached out to catch it and smiled triumphantly. However, before I could feel happy, I felt a cold gaze falling on my face.

I instinctively looked up and instantly met the woman's open eyes.

Those were a pair of extremely empty eyes, filled with a sad and mournful look and a faint pleading. When her gaze fell on the key in my hand, her pupils suddenly widened: "Why did you take my key?"

I:.......

"I'll just borrow it for a while and then return it to you?" I pulled the corners of my mouth and answered stiffly.

The woman's eyes suddenly darkened without warning. Just when I thought she was going to get angry, she suddenly lunged forward and hugged my legs without warning.

"Did you promise me?" Expectant eyes.

I was stunned, not understanding what she meant. I only felt the hand holding my calf was icy cold. My face turned pale and I asked, "What?"

"By taking the key, you have agreed to my request. You can only go upstairs if you fulfill your promise to me." The woman said with her head tilted.

I didn't understand what she was talking about, and when did I agree to her damn promise, but I didn't refute it.

"What are you going to do?" I asked after thinking about it.

"I want to rescue him!" The woman was stunned when she heard this. She then pointed a finger at the man tied to the cross in the innermost part, blinking in grievance. Then her eyes suddenly darkened, and even her tone became cold: "If you can't do it, kill him."

I was startled and subconsciously broke free from her hand that was holding my legs and took a few steps back.

When the woman saw me pushing her away, the smile on her originally aggrieved face suddenly disappeared. She became gloomy and tense. She stared at me with a pair of sinister eyes and asked in an ambiguous tone, "Why, you don't want to?"

"I..." I frowned. The person tied to the cross was obviously the general, but there was obviously something wrong with Princess Qian Ning.

Just as I was about to speak, Jack suddenly interrupted me coldly. He suddenly stepped forward, snatched the key from my hand, looked at the woman coldly and said, "Okay."

Hmm? Okay?

I blinked in confusion. You know, you can't make promises to others casually here, because if you fail to fulfill them, they will suffer retribution.

What's more, they can hardly protect themselves now, so how can they have the mood to care about others?

Although something seemed off about this woman.

"Thank you!" The woman was stunned when she heard that, and the gloom on her face was immediately swept away. She smiled and nodded.

Jack didn't say anything else, but turned around and pulled Qin Lan and me forward.

The woman stood behind us, her pair of empty eyes fixed on our backs, as if she wanted to see through us. I pursed my lips and felt a chill on my back.

After walking through the long cell block, we came to where the man was tied to the cross.

The man on the cross was covered in blood and looked a little disheveled. He lowered his head and closed his eyes tightly. He couldn't even breathe, as if he had been dead for a long time.

However, I know that this person must not be dead.

If he was dead, why would that woman let them kill him?

"What should we do, kill him?" I was stunned and turned to look at Jack and asked.

Is it true that as long as they fulfill that woman's request, they can pass through here smoothly? Why does it feel like the level on the fifth floor is a bit too easy...

Jack frowned and stared at the man tied to the cross for a long moment. The expression in his eyes flickered, then dimmed. Finally, he shook his head and said, "No, the general shouldn't die at this time."

I was stunned, and suddenly remembered what Jack said, that the general was exiled here later, and he brought his family with him. If he died here at this moment, how could he appear on the deserted island later?

I understood everything immediately and knew the woman's intention. She asked me to kill the general here so that she would stay in this time. There would be no deserted island later, and she would not have suffered such a tragic fate.
