Chapter 357 Lamp Spirit

If she could stay here, it would be better than taking the risk with me, because even I myself am not very sure that I can come back alive.

Before I could finish my words, the little girl's face suddenly wrinkled up. She puffed up her cheeks and tugged at my sleeves tightly, as if she was afraid of being abandoned. "Daddy... don't you want Xiao Deng anymore?"

"Xiao Deng? Your name is Xiao Deng?" I asked him with a frown.

"Yeah." Xiao Deng nodded quickly, staring at me with a pair of wet eyes.

"How is that possible? I'm just afraid you'll be in danger." I shook my head and laughed. Then I saw her let out a long sigh of relief. Then she timidly glanced at the sixth floor, as if she had made a great decision, and said, "I'll go with Daddy!"

My heart suddenly felt warm.

It can be seen that she is really afraid of the sixth floor, but despite her fear, she still chooses to stay with me.

It feels so good to be relied upon, trusted and loved by others.

I couldn't help but curl my lips, and there was a hint of sincere warmth in my eyes. I suddenly thought that having a daughter would not be bad.

Three adults and one child walked upstairs together. As soon as we stepped onto the sixth floor, we could feel a heat wave hitting us. My hands holding Xiao Deng tightened and I subconsciously looked up.

I saw that there were indeed many fire racks burning on the sixth floor. No one knew what was put in the fire racks, but they could burn all year round.

After making sure there was no other danger here except the fire, we walked in and immediately discovered another problem, that is, there was no corridor door leading to the upstairs on this floor.

Jack and I looked at each other. How were they going to get up there without a door?

Do you want to break the ceiling?

The key point is that they don’t have a ladder that high or that much strength!

It turns out I was overthinking it.

Not being able to see a door doesn’t mean there is no door. It just means that there is a special door leading to the seventh floor from the sixth floor.

However, I searched the entire floor and still couldn't find any mechanism or secret room. The air was getting hotter and hotter, making people irritable. I sat down on the ground and kept wiping the sweat from my forehead.

Looking down at the little lamp in my arms, blinking its big eyes at me without feeling any heat at all, I frowned and asked, "Why aren't you hot?"

"It's not hot now? It will be very hot at night." Xiao Deng stretched out his arm and wiped the sweat off my forehead. He seemed unable to understand why I was so hot. He shook his head blankly, lowered his head and thought for a while before saying.

"Isn't it hot now?" I widened my eyes in surprise and felt like I was about to be steamed, but she actually said that this is not the hottest?

My heart suddenly sank as I finally realized that the test on the sixth floor was not to let us find a trap, but to burn us to death.

But why?

What on earth is Princess Qian Ning going to do...

"Jack, do you know what's going on?" I turned to look at Jack and asked. Jack knew everything here better, maybe he would know.

"This should be Princess Qian Ning's inner world." Jack raised his hand to wipe the sweat from his face and said after thinking for a while.

"Inner world?" I repeated in confusion.

"Princess Qian Ning is full of hatred towards this world and the general. This place is most likely built by her inner world. The burning fire is the anger in the deepest part of her heart." Jack said simply and bluntly.

Is there such an operation?

I began to look at this inner world again, and sure enough, I saw that there was no fuel in those fires. I was wondering why these fires could last for years, and it turned out to be anger.

But this anger is illusory, how can we get to the seventh floor?

What's more, I searched the entire floor and there was no passage leading upstairs. They seemed to be trapped, unable to move forward or backward.

"Are we just going to be trapped here and die?" I said dejectedly.

"No, look up!" Jack shook his head, suddenly pointed his chin at the top of my head and said.

I subconsciously raised my head and saw that there was something strange on the ceiling above my head. There were complicated patterns painted on it, and those patterns either had faint flames or were flowing things like magma.

All the lines converge towards one point in the middle, and we follow the lines to find the middle.

There was a huge chandelier burning on the ceiling. It was more like a brazier than a chandelier. What was even more strange was that there was a child lying in the brazier.

I was horrified and looked at the child in the brazier. I rubbed my eyes uncertainly, only to find that it was really a child.

How could a child lie in a fire and not be burned to ashes?

And this lamp seems to be different from the other lamps.

Because the fire in the lamp on the sixth floor is all the anger of Princess Qian Ning, it carries a murderous aura that can be felt from afar, but this lamp is very pure, as pure as if it is just a pot of fire.

"Why is there a child in here?" Qin Lan naturally saw the child inside and screamed in surprise.

No one answered.

I stared at the brazier for a long while before I finally realized my purpose: "But what does this brazier have to do with the sixth floor? Do we have to pass through it to get to the seventh floor?"

"Half true." Jack smiled and didn't finish his words.

I frowned and looked at Jack who suddenly turned and left, wondering why this guy was still keeping me in suspense. Was he joking now?

As I thought about this, layers of hot sweat appeared on my face again. I sat on the ground sweating profusely, and it seemed that it was even hotter than before?

Then I remembered what Xiao Deng had said before, that the hottest time is at night.

The Drum Tower they were in was closed, so they couldn't see the weather outside at all, and naturally couldn't tell whether it was day or night.

I don’t know how long it took, but the heat around me had reached an unbearable level. I didn’t even have the strength to stand up, so I could only lie on the ground, gasping for breath.

Xiao Deng was lying on my legs and had fallen asleep. Her little face was pink and so cute.

I couldn't help but curl the corners of my mouth, but it looked pale and powerless.

Before, no matter which floor I was on, there was at least a glimmer of hope and a clear goal, but now.

They didn't even know what to do and could only wait to die.

Not reconciled!

I looked at the room that was illuminated red by the fire and gritted my teeth in hatred.

"Are we going to die here?" Finally, I smiled weakly at Jack.

But Jack didn't reply to me. Instead, he fixed his eyes on the little lamp sleeping on my lap. Suddenly, he curled his lips into a cold smile, his brows full of murderous intent. "Why, aren't you waking up yet, Lamp Spirit?"

"Djinn?"
