Chapter 52: Finding a Place to Stay

"Well, my lady, I can't resist you."

Now Qin Lan has become my nemesis. Whenever I see Qin Lan frowning, I know that I am in trouble.

"Hey, beautiful stewardess, do you know how many troops they have there and how many people they have?"

Since I am going to capture their camp, I must first understand their military strength and basic situation.

"There are still about 20 soldiers stationed here, but I heard that a large number of them will be sent out to resist the enemy in a week."

"foreign enemy?"

"Is there anyone else on this island?"

"I'm not sure about this, but soldiers often return from the garrison injured."

Through Jiang Xiaofeng's words, I roughly understood some of the situations in the base. There are currently about 20 people in the base, but I don't know how many are outside. Moreover, Jiang Xiaofeng knows nothing about weapons and equipment, which makes me very embarrassed.

"Since they will leave in a week, we should wait a week until their numbers are reduced and then take them down in one fell swoop."

To be honest, there are more than 20 people in their base. Even if I am given a gun, I am not sure I can knock down all of them.

"Let's not stay here for now, let's pack up and find a place to stay."

"Where are we going to live?"

Jiang Xiaofeng hugged her arms somewhat dejectedly. This was probably the first time she had arrived in the wilderness in such a long time.

"Let's deal with these two bodies on the ground first, and then we can make a long-term plan."

Following my instructions, the three of us dug a big hole in a place and prepared to throw the two men in.

Before throwing them in, I stripped their clothes off.

"What do you want these tattered clothes for? They stink."

Looking at the clothes in my hands, Qin Lan pinched her nose with disgust. These clothes did have a sour smell. I wonder how long it has been since these black guys last took a shower.

"Okay, stop asking so many questions. The mountain man has his own clever plan. These clothes will come in handy in a few days."

Although there were only three of us, in order to prevent the body from being discovered, we had to use broken stones and branches to dig the pit as deep as possible.

"It's almost deep enough. Remember to find some grass to sprinkle on top after you bury it."

Although it can be seen at a glance that the soil on the surface has been renovated, in a place like this, who would be so stingy as to turn over the soil when there is only new grass on the surface?

After doing all this, the three of us came to the landing place on the beach.

"Let's rest here today."

"Is it safe here?"

Jiang Xiaofeng turned her head and looked around uneasily. This girl must have been abused these days, and now her vigilance has exceeded her inner defenses.

"Don't worry, no one will come to this kind of place at night as long as we don't light a fire."

"You guys stay here first. I'll go find some edible fruits."

Simply place the two of them where they are. As long as they don't run around, I believe their safety will be fine.

I have carefully observed this island and found that apart from some wild fruits, there are no other plants such as bamboo.

Fortunately, I found a lot of bird droppings and sheep dung balls in the woods. It seems that there is a lot of wild game on this island.

Following the guano, I went deeper into the jungle, where I found several fruit trees.

There were several half-rotten fruits lying around under the tree. This kind of fruit was purple all over. I had never seen it before and didn't know if it was poisonous.

I picked up a less rotten fruit from the ground, bit off the rotten part, and put the rest into my mouth to taste it carefully.

The taste of this fruit is a bit similar to blueberries, but it is indeed very juicy, and I believe it contains a lot of vitamins. With this sugar content, about 4 fruits can sustain half a morning's exercise.

This tree grows very tall, and there are no extra branches and leaves extending from the lower part of the trunk, so I tried many times but failed to climb this tree successfully.

Unable to climb up the branch, I thought of shaking the tree to make the fruits fall, but no matter how hard I tried, only three fruits fell.

Just when I felt I couldn't cope with it, I noticed some stones under the tree. If I threw these stones onto the tree, some fruits would probably fall off.

With fantasy in my mind, I tried it. I used this clumsy method for about dozens of times, and finally I managed to collect a dozen broken fruits.

I simply put the stones on the ground back to their natural state, and then found a large leaf to wrap the fruits.

Although there were only a few rotten fruits, the three of us still enjoyed the meal.

After eating the fruit that evening, I wanted to go out for a walk around the island, but I was too weak to even wield the sword. So I took only a few steps before sitting down and gazing at the sea. The sea was calm. I sat there, my heart racing, my mind a whirlwind.

Everything on this island is still unknown to us now. As for whether we can rescue people, I don’t dare to have any illusions. What’s more, there is still thick fog on the sea. Even if we rescue them, our escape will be a big problem.

These questions lingered in my mind all night.

The next day I was blown up by the sea breeze. Facing the sea, I felt more and more that the current place we live in is not suitable for us to live in.
