The fishing net was given to Ye Mei and others on the island when Qin Lan and I left, so we currently have no tools to use as a fishing net.
At first I thought about fishing. There were many bones or tree forks on the island that could be used as branches, but we didn't have the most important preparation, so this idea had to be abandoned.
During the day I searched many places on the island, trying to find some branches with forks at the tip to use as harpoons. This process took me about two hours.
Finally, I found the perfect harpoon I had dreamed of on a small hill.
I happily picked up the harpoon, imitating the fishing scenes on TV, and firmly placed my body and mind on the seashore.
But the results were far from satisfactory.
First of all, when people on TV were fishing with spears, the place they chose was not the sea where I was now, but a freshwater lake in the shallows.
That kind of freshwater lake has fish swimming in it all year round because of the influx of fresh water. On the contrary, now that it is located above the sea, normal fish basically swim in that kind of deep water area, and few of them swim in the shallows.
Moreover, the water in a freshwater lake flows in the same direction as the river, and the lake surface is calm all year round. Once a harpoon is thrown, the fish do not have enough space to react.
Secondly, due to the different densities of sea water and fresh water, the refraction and projection of light are also very different. At first, I found a few small fish on the coast, and I roughly calculated the refraction of light, but the results in practice were still so unsatisfactory. The sharp points always appeared next to the fish body and could not pierce the body.
After half a day, I went back in shame.
Luckily, I found some wild mushrooms in the forest. This was caused by the recent humidity. The mushrooms looked a bit yellow-green, but they are non-toxic.
I grew up in the countryside. Whenever the rainy season came, my mother would take my brothers and sisters and me up the mountain to pick these delicacies. This kind of mushroom is perfect for making soup and frying.
But our current goal is to fill our stomachs, and there is no cooking oil here, so we can only simply use these mushrooms to make soup.
Of course, I also took Qin Lan's previous experience into consideration. After getting the mushrooms, I hurried back to the beach to get some sea water, which can be used as seasoning for our meal.
At night we placed a fired clay pot over the flames and poured some water into it.
Although there is no glaze inside this pot, it does not become turbid after being exposed to high temperatures.
This meal was prepared by Jiang Xiaofeng, with Qin Lan and I helping out on the side. But I have to say, this girl’s cooking skills are indeed quite superb.
"You guys eat it, I don't eat this."
When the mushrooms were ripe, the fragrance spread all over the mountain. Jiang Xiaofeng ate the wild fruits alone and did not eat with us.
"Are you so unwilling to eat with us?"
Jiang Xiaofeng's attitude made me feel a little dissatisfied.
"No, this is just a requirement of our profession. We are not allowed to eat these fungal foods normally."
Jiang Xiaofeng took a bite of wild fruit and then turned his whole body away without any other reaction.

Since that woman didn't want to eat, I didn't want to bother with her anymore and just focused on eating with Qin Lan.
This mushroom soup was much more delicious than I expected.
Perhaps because the mushroom soup was so delicious, Qin Lan and I started drinking it without stopping.

When I was about to fall, I noticed Qin Lan lying on the ground.

I stood up and patted my head. It felt really bad, like waking up from a drunken stupor.
After stretching my muscles, I looked around and found no trace of Qin Lan in the cave.
Feeling a little panicked, I hurried out of the cave. I searched the outside of the cave, but there was no trace of Qin Lan.
"Oh my god, that's impossible."
I was a little confused. How come Qin Lan was gone when I woke up?
"Brother Chen, what are you looking for?"
Jiang Xiaofeng came out of the cave following my trail.
"Where's Qin Lan? Where did Qin Lan go?"
"Sister Qin woke up early in the morning and said she was going to find food, so she went out alone."
"Who let her go? Who let her go alone!"
I yelled at Jiang Xiaofeng in a somewhat excited tone.
After I yelled at her, the girl squatted quietly aside and secretly wiped her tears.
"Okay, okay, stop crying. I was wrong. The most important thing right now is to find Qin Lan as soon as possible."
I simply apologized and ran out alone.
I prayed in my heart, hoping that nothing would happen to Qin Lan, otherwise I would not be able to forgive myself.
I searched around the island for a long time, but found no trace of Qin Lan.
Just when I was about to give up searching, a voice in the distance attracted my attention.
"Brother Chen, come quickly."
Jiang Xiaofeng's voice was not far away from me, and I followed the voice and came to her side.
The current location is under a thick tree, and there are obvious signs of resistance around it.
