37. Chu Yanhui disappears
The first thing he did after getting off the plane was to go back to Shuixie Huating, but he found out that the girl had moved away long ago.
The room she had lived in was now vacant.
That phone call was a notice to him that she was going to leave him completely.
Fu Rongshen stood outside the door, looking at the tidy and empty room, his face shrouded in gloom.
He tilted his head and said to the housekeeper beside him, "Where did she go?"
The housekeeper was puzzled: "Sir, haven't you stopped asking about Miss Chu for a long time? I thought -"
The following omitted words are self-explanatory.
He thought that Chu Yanhui left quietly because of Fu Rongshen's tacit consent.
After all, when she came back that day, her eyes were red and swollen, and it was obvious that she had been crying.
There's nothing wrong with letting her go out and relax.
"Where did she go?" Fu Rongshen suddenly turned around, stared at him and repeated.
He'd been a housekeeper for decades, so he wouldn't panic about something like this. He quickly organized his words and spoke fluently, "A week ago around seven in the evening, the maid on duty saw Miss Chu leaving with her luggage. She said she was going to relax for a few days..."
"I asked you where the people went, Butler Zhao, don't answer irrelevant questions." His tone was calm, but it made people feel the surging anger.
Butler Zhao's forehead immediately broke out in sweat: "...Sir, I didn't do my job well."
"Go find it." He glanced at the empty room again, his eyes frozen with frost, frighteningly cold. "If you can't find it, find someone else to take your place!"
"yes!"
Zhao Rongqing was so scared that his face turned pale and he hurried to look for someone.
Fu Rongshen pursed his lips, turned around and went downstairs, and asked the driver to drive to the Fu family's old house.
In the car, he dialed the number several times, but the only response he got was: "The user you dialed is currently unavailable."
He was so angry that his face turned blue, and he held the rear armrest with his hands. He could hardly maintain his sanity, and in the end he actually laughed.
"Oh!"
I was afraid that he would call, so I pulled out the card!
Then, call another number.
"What's wrong? What do you want to talk to me about?"
A cheerful female voice came from the receiver. It was Fu Zhiju's voice.
When she saw who was calling, she was confused. Wasn’t her uncle abroad? Why was he calling her suddenly?
"Do you know where Chu Yanhui is now?" the man asked.
Fu Zhiju was startled. He glanced at the old man on the sofa who was listening to the woman reading the newspaper. He turned his back, covered his mouth with his hand, and whispered, "Uncle, isn't she with you?"
Almost the next moment, an old but powerful hoarse voice came from behind:
"Little Torch—stop covering it! Do you really think I'm blind and can't see your devious thoughts? Is it your uncle calling?"
Fu Zhiju's body stiffened, then he turned around, walked up to Old Man Fu with a smile, and hugged his arm: "Oh! Grandpa's guess was really right."
"Call me."
She nodded and handed over the phone obediently.
Mr. Fu took the phone and said to Fu Rongshen on the other end of the line, "Have you gotten off the plane? Don't forget to come back for dinner."
"Well, I'm on my way, almost there," he paused, "Please give the phone to Zhiju, I have something to ask her."
When Fu Qiulei heard this, the corners of his mouth immediately dropped.
"Is it related to the girl from the Chu family?"
"I'm telling you, there's absolutely no way you two can—" He hadn't finished his words when the other party hung up. The angry old man slammed his phone on the coffee table and cursed, "How dare you hang up on me, you unfilial son!"
Fu Zhiju cried out, quickly snatched the phone back from his hand, held it in his arms with heartache, and howled exaggeratedly: "Grandpa, you're going to break my new phone! It will hurt!"
Mr. Fu glared at her:
"Why are you yelling? You don't act like a lady at all! It's your dad who spoiled you. He made you learn Taekwondo. You're so wild all the time that I'm embarrassed to tell you off!"
Fu Zhiju had long been accustomed to the old man's bad temper. She was also shameless, so instead of reflecting on it, she chuckled, "Grandpa, you praised me yesterday for being cheerful and more lively than that young lady from the Cheng family! Why did you change your mind today?"
"I see. You're mad at my uncle and are taking it out on me."
She looked innocent and spoke arrogantly.
"I understand now. Your dad can't control you. When your mom is free, I'll have a good talk with her and let her take care of you!"
Fu Zhiju's brows twisted into knots, and he rushed upstairs the next moment:
"Okay, okay, I won't make you angry anymore!"
The other side.
Fu Rongshen hung up the phone, closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and calmed himself down.
A message popped up on my phone:
Assistant Tang Ling: Mr. Fu, I will do whatever you ask me to do.
Assistant Tang Ling: Wang Cheng is already in prison and cannot be moved. He can only be arranged for "special care." The other people who spread rumors have also been arrested and dealt with. Huo Sisi made pointed remarks slandering Ms. Chu. I have already notified the Huo family. We will see how they handle this in the future.
He replied:
[No matter what method you use, make Wang Cheng confess who is behind the photo shoot. Also, have Assistant Liu keep a close eye on Gu He.]
After receiving the news, Tang Ling continued to work.
He only found out that Huo Sisi was manipulating online public opinion, and Gu He did not intervene. But judging by Mr. Fu's attitude, he was suspicious of Gu He.
As for Wang Cheng, who is still stubborn and refuses to reveal who gave him the photos, he will be beaten to death.
Half an hour later, at the Fu family's old house.
ancestral hall.
"What did you say?" Fu Qiulei took out his whip with a stern face, pointed it at him, and gritted his teeth, "In front of our ancestors, repeat what you just said!"
"I want to be back with Chu Yan."
Fu Rongshen knelt on the mat, facing the ancestral tablet, and repeated his previous words calmly.
"How can you be so shameless as to get involved with a junior? How can my Fu family have the dignity to develop in Hong Kong City in the future? I will make you mad to death!"
"If not for anything else, it's just for your mother. You can still say this while looking at her tablet—" Old Master Fu's face turned pale and he was furious. "I have to teach you a lesson!"
“Bang!”
A heavy whip lashed across his back, tearing his white shirt and causing faint bleeding. His brow furrowed, but his kneeling posture remained unchanged.
"Dad," he suddenly said, "You can scold me, but don't mention my mom."
Fu Qiulei didn't know what he remembered, his face became even worse, and he was very angry: "Why, she can't mention it?"
Fu Rongshen stood up, his suit jacket draped over his arm, and looked up at the old man in front of him. His expression was calm, but his eyes were as cold as ice. "Whether to bring it up or not, you know for yourself."
The old man felt uneasy at the look, and his chest was heaving with anger at the rebuttal. It took him a long time to utter two words:
"evil creature!"
After cursing, he seemed to realize that his aura was suppressed and tried to save face. He said angrily and disgustedly: "No matter what, I will never agree if you tell Chu Yan to reply!"
