Chapter 4: Home Visit

The last clearing whistle blew outside, and even the sound of basketballs hitting the ground in the playground disappeared. The next step should be for someone to come and inspect the school building.

Lin Sitian moved her fingers and took off Zhou Sheng's glasses.

Zhou Sheng still maintained that posture, staring at her motionlessly.

"Put your hands down." Lin Sitian's tone contained a hint of seduction.

"Okay." Zhou Sheng hurriedly tried to take the glasses back from her, but Lin Sitian didn't give him a chance this time and put the glasses behind her.

"It's not like I haven't seen you take it off before." Lin Sitian acted like a rogue.

"Then you still look at it."

“I haven’t seen enough.”

"..." Zhou Sheng's heartbeat paused, he lowered his head, and covered his face with his other hand again, sighing, "Listen to what you are saying."

"You stingy guy, it won't cost you a piece of meat if you take a look." Lin Sitian simply grabbed his wrist to stop him from blurring himself.

Zhou Sheng said helplessly: "What's so good about it? Wearing glasses or not, it's still just two eyes and a nose."

I just gave up and spread my hands, letting her see it openly.

She actually looked at it with the seriousness of a scientific explorer.

Time seemed to stand still.

The two people stared at each other, and only the even rise and fall of their breathing proved that this was not a static picture.

Ta-ta-ta! A pigeon flapped its wings and flew onto the windowsill, waking them up.

"It's indeed different." Lin Sitian's lips were a little dry, and she bit the edge of her lips subconsciously to moisten them. "I was a little nervous when I saw you without glasses."

Zhou Sheng was quite surprised, "Why?"

"I won't tell you."

"ah?"

Lin Sitian stood up abruptly and picked up the scattered homework books on the desk. "Go home quickly, or you will be locked in the school if you are late."

After being reminded of this, Zhou Sheng stopped asking questions and hurriedly packed up his stationery.

The two parted ways at the school gate. Zhou Sheng was going to take the bus, and Lin Sitian's home was in a nearby community.

"There will be a small test tomorrow. Remember to look at the questions I marked for you." Zhou Sheng reminded.

"Okay." Lin Sitian changed her personality and answered very obediently.

"Gone." he said.

"See you tomorrow then."

"See you tomorrow."

When talking to Zhou Sheng, even the three ordinary words "see you tomorrow" sounded itchy in my heart. She must be sick.

Lin Sitian walked a distance towards home in a daze, holding the folder, thinking back to every word she had said to him today. Zhou Sheng's embarrassed face in the dim classroom appeared in her mind again.

At first she thought it was just a nerd who had nothing to do with it, but it turned out to be completely different from what she expected.

What does Zhou Sheng think of her?

"Lin Sitian——"

He must have been thinking too much about his affairs and started to hear hallucinations.

"Lin Sitian!"

Lin Sitian finally realized that someone was really calling her. She turned around abruptly and met Zhou Sheng who was running towards her.

The moment he ran towards her, Lin Sitian had already watched all the idol dramas she had ever seen in her life. The male lead had already proposed to her, and the next step was where to buy a house in the school district.

It’s too fast, it’s really too fast. They are only in their second year of high school, so they should wait a little longer about the children’s matters.

Zhou Sheng stopped in front of her, panting, supporting his knees with his hands and taking deep breaths.

"Glasses." He stretched out his hand without even raising his head.

Lin Sitian was stunned: "Huh?"

Zhou Sheng's chest heaved, and he looked up at her with a helpless smile while panting: "My...my glasses...idiot."

Sure enough, we still have to wait regarding the child.

"Would you like to come to my house on Saturday?"

When Lin Sitian asked this, Zhou Sheng, who was drinking water, almost choked.

He held his breath for a long time with an extremely ugly expression on his face, and finally swallowed the saliva safely.

"My home is not the eighteenth level of hell. What's with that expression on your face?" Lin Sitian sat on the desk with her body tilted, not caring about her image at all. Fortunately, the next class was in the laboratory, and there were only a few people left in the classroom.

Otherwise, everyone would be shocked by her bold remarks.

What Zhou Sheng didn't know was that a rumor had recently spread in the class that the two of them were a couple. After all, as classmates of the opposite sex, they stayed together after school every day and chatted with each other on a regular basis.

Zhou Sheng raised his hand to push up his glasses, then calmed down and said, "Shouldn't you think twice before asking such a question?"

"I've considered it."

What have you weighed? Have you really weighed it by holding it in your palm and measuring its weight?

Lin Sitian leaned down and got closer to him. Zhou Sheng blushed at her suddenly enlarged face and leaned back a little.

"Why should I consider this?" Lin Sitian smiled gently and shook her body.

"Lin Sitian." Zhou Sheng stood up and stepped aside.

Lin Sitian was startled, looked up at him, and said quickly: "If you don't want to tell me, then don't tell me. Why are you scaring me?"

"It's time to go to class." Zhou Sheng hurriedly grabbed the textbook on the table and left.

Lin Sitian jumped off the table, picked up the book and followed in two steps.

"Zhou Sheng."

“…”

"Zhou Sheng——"

"If you have something to say, just say it."

"You really aren't going?"

Zhou Sheng paused and looked at her: "Are you still coming?"

"No, I mean, do you want to come over to my house on Saturday to do homework together?"

Zhou Sheng understood now that this person insisted on speaking halfway.

"Why should I go to your house to do homework?" he asked sullenly.

"Because you still have to help me review." She said shamelessly.

Zhou Sheng started moving again, even quickening his pace: "Who said I have to help you..."

"You said 'I do' yourself."

“…”

Lin Sitian jumped around him with her hands behind her back, and from time to time she walked backwards to look at Zhou Sheng. She offered her head to him and repeated proudly, "I do. I do. I do. I do..."

He has a bit of a mean face.

Zhou Sheng said in frustration: "Then why do you want me to go to your house? Why can't you come to my house by yourself?"

"That's fine." Lin Sitian immediately responded.

"No!" Zhou Sheng interrupted quickly, "I'll go to your house, that's it."

"Lin Sitian, you and Zhou Sheng are in love, why are you clinging to him--" Wang Yue turned around and shouted at her. They were the only two of them left at the back, so it was easy for them to be caught and made fun of.

Fortunately, Lin Sitian was not someone who could be easily bullied. She bent her palms to her lips and shouted back, "Wang Yue, you are jealous that I have a great mentor. Even if I let you grow two more brains, you are still not worthy of me clinging to you—"

Well, he doesn't deserve it.

In the corridor, Zhou Sheng pursed his lips and watched the two people interacting with each other. His eyes were tinged with a softness that he himself did not even notice. He turned his head and looked at the mountains in the distance shrouded in clouds and mist. The corners of his lips raised, and that smile was so light and shallow that it was blown away by the warm April breeze.

"Ding Dong." The doorbell rang.

The sound of footsteps approached from inside the door, followed by a familiar voice: "Here they come!"

The security door was quickly opened, and the person inside the door smiled at him with his eyes curved against the light, "Zhou Sheng——"

She knew it was him before she opened the door, and she called his name so enthusiastically after she opened the door. Zhou Sheng was a little flattered.

Lin Sitian was about to invite him into the house, but she took a bag of apples from Zhou Sheng first.

"A door-to-door gift."

Lin Sitian burst out laughing: "Zhou Sheng, you are not that?"

"I picked it up on the way. It's not a big deal anyway."

"You came to my house to help me with my studies, why do you bring a gift?" How old is he, yet he acts like an old cadre.

Zhou Sheng was holding the door and taking off his shoes. "It's not good to go to someone else's house for the first time without bringing much."

"My dad is not here either. He is working in another place." Lin Sitian put slippers on him.

Zhou Sheng, who only knew who Lin Sitian's family members were, was stunned for a second, "What about your grandmother?"

"I'm going to play mahjong. I won't be back until the evening."

Zhou Sheng finally realized that the situation was a bit awkward, "So there are no adults in your family?"

Lin Sitian had just walked two steps away when he asked her this question. She turned around and glanced at him, "What's wrong? What do you want to do with them?"

"I..." Zhou Sheng was speechless.

Forget it.

Fortunately, nothing went wrong in the following period of time. Lin Sitian said that doing homework together was not an excuse. The two of them sat around the desk and did their homework for two hours. During the time, Zhou Sheng helped her answer questions from time to time, and it was noon soon.

"It's time for dinner." Lin Sitian glanced at the clock on the wall, reached out and knocked on Zhou Sheng's desk to wake him up from his exercises, "Zhou Sheng, what do you want to eat? I'll treat you." This was agreed upon before he came.

“Anything is fine.” Zhou Sheng is really not picky about food. Being picky about food will only affect the speed at which he draws his sword.

"Then eat some fried chicken." As soon as she finished speaking, Lin Sitian said "Ugh" to herself.

Zhou Sheng looked up at her, not understanding what was going on.

She waved her hand: "It's okay." Let's not talk about chickens, let's be civilized.

Lin Sitian really ordered a fried chicken hamburger meal.

Zhou Sheng and she sat at the dining table. It was a bit strange that a man and a woman were eating face to face in a room. Lin Sitian quickly turned on the TV.

"Finish your English first in the afternoon, and I'll help you with Friday's questions." Zhou Sheng didn't know what to say, so he just made up a sentence.

"Oh, okay." Lin Sitian was watching the variety show on TV with her head tilted. After answering him, she took a bite of the burger.

She didn't care that Zhou Sheng was right across from her and she had to pay attention to her image, and she was enjoying her meal.

Lin Sitian's face is still chubby, round and smooth, with a shallow dimple when she smiles. Her appearance is just like her name, but her personality is crazy. Zhou Sheng is used to her casual female image in school uniform and pants, and today is the first time he sees her wearing a skirt.

...Hmm? She's wearing a skirt?

The creamy white lotus leaf collar knitted sweater paired with a knee-length skirt doesn't look like a casual home wear at all.

The girl's profile is bathed in the natural light of noon, with a small smear of salad dressing on the corner of her mouth, like the finishing touch on the canvas that adds color to the character, making her look vivid and bright.

Zhou Sheng was distracted for a while before he couldn't help laughing. His laughter attracted Lin Sitian's sidelong glance. She frowned at him in confusion and asked, "Is this funny?" She thought Zhou Sheng watched the show with her.

Zhou Sheng tapped the corner of his mouth with his finger: "Salad."

Upon hearing this, Lin Sitian hurriedly wiped it off with her fingertips. She subconsciously touched the edge of her lips, and her pink tongue tip poked out, lightly hooked the salad dressing on her fingertips and brought it back to her mouth. It was a fleeting glimpse, quite charming.

Zhou Sheng looked away, seemingly not caring.
