Chapter 33
The interrogation ended at dawn.
As the officers emerged from the interrogation room, hot meals were delivered to the police station. A variety of rice, porridge, soy milk, and milk covered the table. The officers, who had been up all night, saw the food and ate it like wolves at meat. Without even asking, they pounced and stuffed the food into their mouths.
"Thank you, Sister Tang! Sister Tang, you must have worked hard to come down to earth!" Chen Jingzhou was busy talking, but he did not forget to express his gratitude to the sponsor of the meal.

"Enjoy your meal, I'm leaving first. Contact me if you have anything." Tang Ruxin put on her coat and straightened her hair that was scattered behind her.
Yu Lei tilted his head back and poured the soy milk in his hand down his throat, then grabbed his coat and followed.
"For you."
"I'm driving." Tang Ruxin said.
"Then you send me off."

That’s right, if a policeman is thin-skinned, he can’t become a captain. Tang Ruxin held the car key and started the car remotely.
After warming up the car, the two of them arrived at the parking area next to the police station's courtyard wall. Yu Lei quickly took two steps and got into the driver's seat first. After glancing at the dashboard and the car's interior, he couldn't help but mutter inwardly, "Damn capitalists."
Tang Ruxin got in the passenger seat and said, "Let's go to the hospital."

Tang Ruxin looked at him with a half-smile, pulled out a tissue from under the central armrest of the car, and gently wiped the corner of Yu Lei's mouth with her side.
Yu Lei subconsciously stiffened his neck, trying to dodge, but the seatbelt on his shoulders left him with very little room to move. Tang Ruxin's fingertips brushed against his lips through the tissue, bringing a slight warmth.
"You're asking even though you already know the answer, Captain Yu. If you still don't understand the relationship between Tong Jiayu and me, I'm going to doubt your ability to handle the case."
"Now that you have a suspect more suspicious than Tong Jiayu, you're ready to reveal your true colors?" Yu Lei raised his hand and rubbed the corner of his mouth, as if trying to wipe away the remaining warmth. Tea was served so spontaneously that it was impossible to guard against it.
Tang Ruxin hummed, folded her hands and stretched forward, then adjusted the seat to lean back, almost to a lying angle, and found a comfortable position by slightly turning sideways.
"Why do you think Zhou Jiyao has accomplices?" Yu Lei drove without looking around, seemingly not noticing her intention to sleep.
Tang Ruxin yawned, "The person who locked you and me in the well that day was not him."
"reason?"
"The channels of the walkie-talkie." Tang Ruxin's voice became lower and lower as she spoke. "Zhou Jiyao is responsible for the production of three sets of equipment. His walkie-talkie can receive three channels. But when I tested the channels that day, there was no movement on the first two channels..."
Yu Lei frowned. This kind of information was impossible for anyone other than an insider at Donghe Refining and Chemical Company to know, and outsiders wouldn't even think of asking.
Yu Lei was about to speak when he glanced sideways and saw that Tang Ruxin had fallen asleep. Her palm-sized face was mostly buried in the collar of her black coat, with only her forehead and willow-shaped eyebrows exposed. He turned on the seat heating and turned up the air conditioning to two notches.
Perhaps because she had stayed up all night crying, or perhaps because the warm air inside the car was so pleasant, Tang Ruxin slept exceptionally soundly, without even a single dream. It was as if she were in her childhood cradle, restful and peaceful under the gentle caress of her mother's warm hands.
When he opened his eyes again, what appeared was Yu Lei's unshaven profile - a high nose bridge, sharp eyebrows, and a jawline as hard as if it were cut by a knife.
It must be said that Yu Lei's face was quite attractive even when he was silent. It was no surprise that Tong Jiayu liked him. Tang Ruxin was quiet for a few seconds, then sat up and found that she was still in the car, but her seatbelt had been unbuckled. The driver's seat was also reclined, and Yu Lei was sleeping soundly.
The surrounding environment was dim, and there were many cars parked neatly everywhere, as if in an underground parking lot.
Tang Ruxin rubbed her stiff neck and took out her phone to check the time. She cursed under her breath, it was already three in the afternoon.
Yu Lei had fallen asleep in the hospital's underground parking lot without even trying to wake her. It was dark and quiet, so it was no wonder she'd slept for nearly ten hours. Damn it, she and Tong Jiayu had an appointment to visit her in the morning.
Tang Ruxin turned on the dome light above the passenger seat and took out her cushion foundation and lipstick to touch up her makeup. Just as she straightened up to look in the mirror behind the sun visor, a familiar figure appeared in the rearview mirror.
She paused with her hand holding the lipstick, then immediately turned off the dome light and lay back.
The man walked from the back, across three rows of parking spaces and a driveway, then turned left and stopped beside a pillar in front of Tang Ruxin's left field of vision. Behind the round, thick pillar, someone seemed to be standing. The distance was too far, and Tang Ruxin could only see a hand that occasionally appeared.
At this moment, Yu Lei suddenly woke up and let out a low groan from deep in his throat.
Tang Ruxin immediately stretched out her right hand, reached over the central armrest between the driver's seat and the front passenger seat, and covered Yu Lei's mouth with her hand.
Yu Lei woke up instantly, without even opening his eyes, he raised his hand to grab the thing on his face and pulled it aside.
This tug pulled Tang Ruxin completely over. She lay across Yu Lei, her right wrist pinned to the car window. If she could just release her left arm from Yu Lei's chest a little, she could achieve negative distance contact with him.
Yu Lei took in the situation and held his breath for a moment. He slowly released her wrist, but saw that Tang Ruxin had no intention of getting up.
"What are you doing..."
"Don't talk and don't move." Tang Ruxin interrupted him in a low voice.
She supported her arms on his chest, bent at a very delicate angle. She couldn't raise them too high to be seen by people nearby, nor could she raise them too low to press against him. Turning over to the passenger seat would be too big a movement, and her arms soon began to tremble, and she got lower and lower.
After a few seconds, she gave up and simply lay on top of him.
Yu Lei was forced to tilt his head back, straining to clear the obstruction of Tang Ruxin's head. The minty scent of shampoo filled his nostrils, and he swallowed, his mouth and throat feeling incredibly dry. His head was buzzing, and he wondered if he was still dreaming. After all, only dreams could produce such a confusing situation.
"How about..." Yu Lei managed to speak, his voice hoarse, "Get up first?"
Tang Ruxin tilted her head slightly and glanced in the direction of the nearby column. In the dim light, the man continued to talk to the person standing behind the column. The person behind the column reached out and patted the man's shoulder. The man brushed off the hand in disgust and turned to walk towards them.
Tang Ruxin immediately lowered her head and buried it in Yu Lei's chest, and once again covered Yu Lei's mouth with her right hand. This time, Yu Lei did not pull her hand away, as he had realized that something was wrong.
Raising his head slightly, he saw Yu Zhe walking past the car with a sinister look on his face.
After a moment, when Yu Zhe's figure was completely out of sight, Yu Lei patted Tang Ruxin on the back, signaling her to get up. Tang Ruxin didn't move, still hunched over him, only turning her head slightly to look at the pillar. Unsure if the person behind the pillar was still there, she didn't dare to get up.
Yu Lei sighed helplessly and raised his hand to press his forehead: "If you don't get up, I won't be polite."
"A police officer assaulting someone is aggravated," Tang Ruxin muttered absentmindedly, her gaze still fixed on the nearby pillar. The voice-activated light in the space surrounding the pillar remained on, indicating that the person beneath it was likely still there.
A light laugh came from above his head. Unlike Yu Lei's previous laughs, this one was obviously frivolous.
"Are you thinking too much or too little?"
Before Yu Lei finished speaking, Tang Ruxin felt the hand that had been resting on her shoulder grow restless. The hand slowly moved to her waist and showed signs of moving downwards.
"There's someone over there!" Tang Ruxin raised her head and growled at him through gritted teeth. She thought he was being rude the way a police officer treats a criminal, but she didn't expect it was the way a man treats a woman.
Tang Ruxin raised her hand and slapped Yu Lei on the face, but she didn't dare to use too much force for fear of making a loud noise, so the slap was just like a tease.
Yu Lei sighed silently once more, having been teased. He looked up at the roof of the car, feeling hopeless and helpless. If she continued to lie like this, his reputation would be ruined.
