Chapter 44 Preparing to Escape

Seeing Vermouth took out a long rope from somewhere, as if to tie her up, Aoi Hoshino's eyebrows couldn't help but move, and she said in a worried tone:

"I've heard of the Thousand-Faced Witch for a long time. I didn't expect to have the honor of witnessing you in disguise today. But please cherish my identity and don't let the people in the Metropolitan Police Department find out."

"rest assured."

While tying someone up, Vermouth winked at her softly:

"It doesn't matter even if you're discovered. Everyone will think you were kidnapped, so the person showing up in the archives with your face on their face definitely isn't you."

"Huh? No wonder you asked me to cooperate. So you wanted me to play the victim?"

Hoshino Aoi quietly moved her hands that were tied behind her back.

There's absolutely no way to move...

A hint of helplessness suddenly appeared between Hoshino Aoi's eyebrows:

"But if it's just an act, there's no need to tie it so tightly, right? I really can't move at all..."

"That won't do. As a good actor, even if it's just acting, you have to act realistically."

Vermouth said this with a chuckle.

Seeing this, Hoshino Aoi also laughed softly:

"Is that so... then don't we have to arrange for someone to come and look after me?"

"Yeah, yeah, so don't even think about running away, Xiaokui."

Vermouth's tone sounded as if she was just teasing, but her expression seemed to be quite meaningful.

Obviously, the word 'escape' in her words also contained some other meanings.

It can be understood that the kidnapping was fake, and since everything was just an act, there was certainly no need for her to escape.

It can also be understood as a warning that if she really betrayed the organization, then under the organization's nose, even if she ran, she could not escape the organization's control.

In response to this, Hoshino Aoi smiled at her softly with her hidden cold eyes:

"Of course. After all, there's absolutely no need to run away."

Her words were obviously a double entendre.

"Vermouth, why are you still here? Are you planning to exchange missions with me?"

Just as Hoshino Aoi was testing the waters with Vermouth, a strange voice suddenly came from the door, causing Hoshino Aoi to look over subconsciously.

What caught my eye was a tall and strong-looking man wearing a black tights.

A hint of contemplation flashed in Hoshino Aoi's eyes.

If someone can question Vermouth's behavior in such a tone, it means that the other party should also be a code name member of the Black Organization.

But the short silver hair ruled out the possibility that the other person was Gin.

Who could that be?

Is it a character that has appeared in "Detective Conan" or a character that has not appeared?

Hoshino Aoi narrowed her eyes slightly and looked at the man who suddenly appeared at her door.

And while she was silently observing the other person, the man was obviously also observing her.

"Is this the new guy in the intelligence team who's been making a lot of noise lately? He doesn't look like anything big."

The man obviously didn't take Hoshino Aoi seriously, and even felt that Rum was making a big deal out of nothing by arranging two code members to come over and even specifically asked him to keep an eye on her.

"Sambuga, don't underestimate our young policeman."

The corners of Vermouth's lips curled up slightly, but her eyes were full of warnings.

Seeing this, the man called Sambuga couldn't help but hide the disdain hidden in his eyes, but after Vermouth left, his expression immediately changed.

"Tsk, you're so mysterious all the time."

Sambuga secretly spat at the closed door, and then his eyes turned towards Hoshino Aoi.

"Hey, you over there, I'm warning you, you'd better cooperate with us and don't cause me any trouble. Otherwise, I won't care what kind of relationship you have with Vermouth, I will kill you directly."

He stretched out his hand, with his index and middle fingers pointing outwards, and his thumb raised high, making a shooting gesture. He said:

"Anyway, you're already on Boss Rum's suspect list. Even if I 'accidentally' kill you, Boss Rum won't do anything to me."

Upon hearing this, Hoshino Aoi's expression changed suddenly.

"Eh? Suspect me?"

She seemed to react only then:

"Why? I'm loyal to the organization!"

"It can't be helped. You work at the Metropolitan Police Department after all."

Sambuga seemed to be amused by her reaction at the moment, but after seeing her confused expression, he still smiled and explained:

"Lord Rum discovered a little rat in the organization and originally planned to catch him, but he didn't expect that he could still get away even after he personally took action. So..."

Sambuga spread his hands and shrugged at her, as if to say, "You should understand what's going on next, right?" Hoshino Aoi, who had already spent the past few days investigating everything, naturally gave him a look that said, "I understand."

"So Lord Rum suspects that someone secretly leaked the organization's arrest operation to the undercover agent?"

"Bingo~ That's right, so now everyone is suspecting that there must be undercover police agents in the organization."

He could be an undercover agent sent by the police, or he could be someone bribed by the previous undercover agent.

"Otherwise, the little mouse wouldn't know that its existence has been discovered."

As Sambuga spoke, his eyes were searching everywhere, and he didn't even notice that Hoshino Aoi had secretly hidden a small blade in her sleeve.

"But I don't think you are. After all, you are so weak, you probably don't have the courage to betray the organization."

"Ah...yes...I hope Lord Rum thinks the same as you..."

Hoshino Aoi sighed:

"But you're not going to just sit there and look at me, are you?"

Seeing that Sambuga finally looked at her, Hoshino Aoi jumped and sat on the sofa, concealing her finger that was accidentally cut by the blade without leaving a trace, and said to him with a smile:

"Let's not talk about whether I can run away with my hands and feet tied like this. Anyway, even if I really wanted to run, I can't beat you. So why don't we watch TV together, or have breakfast or something?"

"Well...let's watch TV then."

As for eating...

He wasn't so unguarded.
