Chapter 775 Professor Moriarty

"Professor Moriarty, you are finally here."

The man with a mustache came forward flatteringly, holding a bottle of red wine:

"We have captured five spies sent by Sherlock Holmes. Please make your decision..."

"A spy sent by Sherlock Holmes?"

The old man who was leaning on the silver snake cane raised his drooping brows and said calmly:

“How do we determine the other party’s identity?”

"He said so himself!"

Colonel Moran said quickly:

"These people ate and drank lavishly at Tom's Tavern, and even said they were relatives of Sherlock Holmes, and asked the waiter to come to the Poker Tavern to settle the bill with me!"

"If it wasn't Sherlock Holmes who ordered it, would an ordinary person have the guts to do this?"

"Yes, yes..."

The mustache man echoed:

"Fortunately, the waiter at Tom's Tavern was sensible and brought them here in time and reported the incident to us."

"Holmes has always been against us, and this time he even used our name to cheat us out of food and drinks. If we don't teach him a lesson..."

"idiot!"

The loud shout made Colonel Moran and others tremble all over.

The gloom only lasted for a moment on Professor Moriarty's face, and then he regained his noble manners, gentle and polite:

"I know Holmes as well as he knows me."

"If he wanted to send someone to get my information, he would not use such a stupid method, because I would definitely find out and respond accordingly."

"Besides... Holmes is now in Dartmoor, not in London. Why would he let his men put themselves in danger?"

"this...."

Colonel Moran and others looked at each other in bewilderment and said:

"Who are these kids who are eating free meals?"

"Who knows? I don't care."

Moriarty tapped his cane and walked into the house:

"I think..."

"We are not so stingy that we can't even afford a meal."

"Do you want to let them go?"

"No, pay for them and then hand them over to the police. That's the rest a noble should have, Moran."

"But the police won't punish them. At most they'll be locked up for a few days!"

"This is a matter for the police and has nothing to do with us."

"What if they continue to cheat people under our name?"

Professor Moriarty paused, turned back slowly, and said in a relaxed tone:

"The first tolerance is the cultivation of the nobility, because the nobility are superior to others, they must maintain a noble heart and tolerance towards ordinary residents, but..."

"There are so many poor people. How can we manage them all?"

"I see..."

Colonel Moran finally understood the professor's meaning.

Professor Moriarty is a university professor and a public figure. His every word and action has its own influence.

If others knew that beggars were using his name to get free food and drink, he would have to be tolerant and generous and show his aristocratic demeanor. This would win him more reputation.

but...

Everything has its limits. The first time I did it was out of helplessness, but the second time was different.

There was a second time, which showed that the other party was ungrateful and it was understandable that Professor Moriarty was angry.

Entering the club, Professor Moriarty took off his coat and handed it to the coachman beside him. Just as he was about to sit down...

The pupils shrank slightly.

In his seat, a young man in a suit was sitting with his legs crossed, playing with a wrench. On the table in front of him was a Remington M1858 revolver. He was looking at him with a half-smile.

"Who are you!"

Colonel Moran didn't expect that when he went out to greet the professor, someone actually sneaked into the club, and he was furious:

"Stand up right now, you rude bastard!"

"Don't be so nervous, Moran. Be polite to your friends."

Professor Moriarty glanced at the revolver on the table and smiled:

"It seems..."

"I just made a mistake."

Below the grip of the revolver are engraved the letters S.H, which is the English abbreviation of Sherlock Holmes.

"I'm curious about when Holmes got an Asian relative."

Professor Moriarty sat down opposite Makoto Sakaki, asked the man with a mustache to open the bottle of expensive red wine, and even brought a glass to Makoto Sakaki, showing his aristocratic demeanor.

"Um...."

Sakaki thought for a moment and said:

"Strictly speaking, I have no blood relationship with Holmes. I took this gun from his drawer without the owner's consent."

"I see. It seems you have something to ask of me."

Professor Moriarty shook the goblet and smiled:

"I like this gift very much. So, young man, what is your wish?"

"First, I'm going to take my friends away. Ah... I'll leave those four little ghosts to you."

Sakaki Makoto scratched his head and threw out a piece of paper with a house number written on it:

"Then, I would like to ask you to help investigate the people living here, and it would be best if you could take pictures of them."

After taking a look at the house number, Professor Moriarty asked his men to copy the paper and handed it to Moran:

"That's all you ask?"

"It seems that you don't know the value of Holmes's gun."

"To me, this gun really has no value."

Sakaki Makoto said without comment:

"But for you, Professor, this gun can allow you to humiliate Holmes and even use it to commit the next crime and put the blame on Holmes. That's interesting, isn't it?"
