Chapter 807 Watson, I need your help

Snap...Snap...

Sakaki Makoto and Deya walked on the muddy path, one step deep and one step shallow. The kerosene lamp drifted in the wind and rain. Their leather boots were covered with wet mud and rain poured in through their open collars. The two men walked hurriedly towards the manor on the top of the mountain.

The rain was heavy, making the already steep slope even more difficult to climb. In order to save time, Sakaki Makoto did not choose the main road, but climbed up to the manor from the side path, which saved nearly twenty minutes.

There were flashes of lightning in the sky and Makoto Sakaki's clothes were completely soaked, but he did not slow down and continued to climb very quickly.

The only one who has to be said to be weird is Deya.

After crawling for a while, he started to groan in pain and wished he could find a place to lie down on the spot. Only under the coercion and inducement of Sakaki Makoto did he take another step with difficulty.

"I am a noble. I have never suffered such hardship before..."

Deya muttered to himself, grabbed a stick, and thrust it into the soil to steady himself.

How much he wanted to lie comfortably by the fireplace and eat the fruit handed to him by the maid?

More than ten minutes later, after a hard fight, Sakaki Makoto and his companion finally climbed to the top of the mountain.

Right in front of him was the magnificent Baskerville Manor, a standard English building. Sakaki Makoto felt that he should be able to see a classical maid.

The iron fence was locked from the inside. Deya stood at the door and shouted at the top of his lungs, but his voice didn't carry far before it was blown away by the wind and rain.

“Stand back.”

Sakaki Makoto glanced at the chain, pulled out a revolver from his pocket, and pulled the trigger.

Bang!

The broken chain fell down, Makoto Sakaki pulled it out, threw it to the ground, and then pushed open the iron door.

"It's not good for us to invade so directly..."

Seeing that Makoto Sakaki acted simply and roughly, Deya couldn't help but shrink his neck:

"I heard that Lord Baskerville has a bad temper..."

"I broke the door lock. What does it have to do with him?"

"But this is his door lock..."

"That's easy, just give him the money."

"Why?!"

Deya's eyes widened:

"You fired the gun, why should I pay for the damage?"

"Is it enough that your godmother is my friend?"

"........Just pay it. A metal lock doesn't cost much anyway."

After thinking it over, Deya decided that he should not argue with Sakaki Makoto over a broken iron chain.

The two men started arguing, and he was obviously no match for Sakaki Makoto with his bare hands...it seemed like he couldn't win even with a gun.

What if Makoto Sakaki shoots him in desperation?

Not worth it.

The two braved the wind and rain and finally arrived in front of the villa.

As the most famous nobleman in the small town of Dartmoor, Sir Baskerville has a strong family background. Although he is not as rich as a country, he is at least wealthy.

Even the door is equipped with electric lights, how luxurious.

Deya walked up and knocked on the door with an envious look on his face.

Boom boom boom!

Soon, footsteps were heard behind the door, and a young maid wearing a black and white petticoat, who looked only 16 or 17 years old, opened the door.

She glanced at Sakaki Makoto and the other man, paused for a moment, and said timidly:

"We don't want newspapers..."

"you..."

Deya rolled his eyes and almost fainted:

"How could you tell that we look like newspaper salesmen?!"

"We just paid the electricity bill yesterday..."

“.......”

Sakaki Makoto looked at his own clothes. After walking through the rain, their clothes were completely wet, and their shoes were covered with mud. They looked like drowned rats. They didn't look like rich people at all. Plus, the maid was too young, so it was normal for him to make a mistake.

"Would you please inform Lord Baskerville that we are here to see Mr. Sherlock Holmes?"

"...oh."

The maid nodded and closed the door with a click.

"How do you treat guests like this?!"

Looking at the tightly closed door, Deya was stunned for a moment, then burst out:

"Don't stop me, I'm going to scold her to death today!"

"Keep your voice down, don't let them think we're here to rob you."

"Boss, look at her attitude!"

"It's fine for her to ask the owner for permission when dealing with strangers. Also, I'm not your boss."

"Of course you are! You are my godmother's friend, which means you are my elder. It's not too much to call you boss!"

"Getting too deep into a role is not a good thing."

Deya's body trembled, and he straightened his chest immediately, showing a loyal look:

"I mean it with all my heart!"

Shaking his head, Sakaki Makoto rummaged in his arms and took out a cigarette box. Just as he was about to take out a cigarette, he found that the cigarette was soaked and could not be smoked at all.

Just then...

A silver iron box was placed in front of him.

"Boss, smoke a cigar, this year's new product."

Makoto Sakaki took out a cigar from the box, tore off one end with his bare hands without a pair of scissors, and lit it with the help of the flame of the kerosene lamp.

After going around his mouth once, Makoto Sakaki exhaled the smoke, leaving a lingering fragrance in his mouth.

Good stuff.

With a frown on his face, Sakaki Makoto said nothing and just stood aside waiting quietly.

A few minutes later, the door opened again, and it was the same young maid:

"Mr. Holmes, please come in..."

Following the maid, the two walked into the villa.

Unlike the cold outside world, the villa was filled with warmth. The walls were covered with priceless oil paintings. Sakaki Makoto even saw an original work by Picasso.

In the case of the Hound of the Baskervilles, the elderly Sir Charles is already dead, and in terms of his title...
