Sakaki Makoto didn't remember how he got home. In a daze, he had a very long dream.
In the dream, a man and a woman were walking hand in hand on the street at dusk, talking and laughing, with slow steps, just like taking a stroll.
Sakaki Makoto followed behind them and seemed very close, but no matter how hard he chased, he could not get any closer, and could not hear what they were saying.
The strange thing is...
Sakaki Makoto actually thought that all this was normal. He was not annoyed at all. He held the water gun in his hand and said nothing.
I don't know how long I walked...
A man and a woman took him back home. The man took out the key to open the door, and the woman turned around and picked him up.
The woman's face was blurry, and Sakaki Makoto couldn't see it clearly no matter how hard he tried. He only remembered the smile that remained at the corner of the woman's mouth.
Makoto Sakaki soon realized that it was a dream, but he couldn't control his body at all. It was like he was walking on a horse's back, his body was light and floating, at the mercy of others.
The woman put him on the sofa in the living room, handed him a book, rolled up her sleeves, put on an apron, and walked into the open kitchen. While cutting vegetables, she looked up at him from time to time.
Ta-da-da...
The blade and the cutting board danced a ballet that can completely relax the body and mind. The music is melodious and the rhythm is pleasant.
The setting sun splashed onto the book spread out in front of Sakaki Makoto. An old orange cat jumped off the wall and lay on the swing in the yard, with its long tail swinging back and forth. Everything seemed so peaceful and tranquil.
Oil popped in the wok, and the man walked into the living room and sat beside him, his back straight, two Colt M1911s in his hands, his chest heaving, as if he was waiting for something.
Perhaps influenced by him, Sakaki Makoto closed the book and grabbed his toy water gun.
Time passed by, the sunset became dimmer, the woman brought the dishes to the table, wiped her hands, smiled and shouted:
"It's time for dinner."
At the dinner table, the man and the woman were still discussing some irrelevant things. Sakaki Cheng was holding the rice, feeling a little heavy for no reason, as if...
The calm before disaster.
"Eat more fish. Fish is rich in amino acids and is good for the body."
Seeing that Sakaki Makoto hadn't moved his chopsticks, the woman passed him the fried fish on her plate and urged him to eat quickly:
"You are growing up now, so you need to take more nutrition, drink less beverages, brush your teeth on time, and get enough sleep..."
"I know, I know!"
Sakaki Makoto suddenly felt a tightness in his chest. He complained but still picked up the fried fish in front of him.
squeak!
The sound of brakes was heard outside the door. The old orange cat swinging on the swing raised its head vigilantly, barked, jumped onto the wall, and ran away.
At the same time, Sakaki Makoto noticed that the man next to him was tightly holding the Colt M1911 at his waist. His face was still blurry, but his voice was cold:
“Here they come.”
"Well, I should go now."
Ding Dong!
The doorbell rang, the woman put down her chopsticks, and walked out of the restaurant with the man.
Sakaki Makoto hurriedly followed, and saw several men in black who had sneaked into the night standing on both sides of the open door. They were stern and serious, and bowed their heads respectfully to the woman.
The woman turned around and squatted down, scratched Sakaki Makoto's nose with her finger, and said softly:
"Mom is gone, you have to listen to Dad, okay?"
"Where are you going?"
Sakaki Makoto raised his hand and grasped the woman's sleeve, breathing rapidly.
The woman smiled, didn't answer, got up and walked out the door.
Looking at the group of men in black surrounding the woman, Sakaki Makoto resolutely raised the water gun. Even though he knew it was useless, he still wanted to stop them.
A slightly rough big hand blocked the water gun.
Sakaki Makoto turned his head and saw the man hiding behind him, his hands holding the Colt M1911 trembling constantly, not because of fear, but to endure.
But Sakaki Makoto didn't understand. When the door was closed, he used up all his strength to roar at the man, and he didn't even know what he was shouting.
The man stood in the dark corridor, no one knew what he was thinking. When the door opened again, another man in black appeared.
This man in black seemed different from the previous ones. He only said one sentence to the man:
"Brother, everything is ready. Let's start tonight."
"good."
The man finally spoke, his voice extremely hoarse, like the cry of a crow perched on a tree branch.
"Xiao Cheng, you stay at home."
The man gently stroked Sakaki Makoto's head and said:
"I'm going to get your mother back."
Sakaki Makoto stared in a daze as the man strode out of the house, got into a black car, and drove away.
He just stood there, as if his soul had been taken away, until a priest holding a Bible appeared under the light outside the gate.
“Some things we don’t have a choice about.”
The priest opened his Bible for the first time and read aloud:
“In it was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it!”
"then..."
"I understand."
................................
"Cheng! Cheng!"
Sakaki Makoto opened his eyes slowly, tears welling up in the corners of his eyes. He looked blankly at Miss Miyano beside him and asked:
"What's wrong?"
"Are you having a nightmare?"
Miss Miyano said anxiously:
"Just now you kept talking in your sleep, asking why, why..."
