At 11:55 am, three fire trucks drove past the Beihu Zunhao Hotel. Miss Miyano, who was sitting by the window and sipping instant coffee, looked out the window, as if thinking about something.

The atmosphere in the car was a bit heavy. None of the five people spoke. They just sat there quietly, each with their own plans in mind.
Mary Akai stared straight at the man smoking in the rearview mirror, her eyes as sharp as torches, as if she could see through everything.
