Chapter 130 "Crisis Upon Crisis"

Just as Conan and his friends were about to succeed, the lights suddenly blared and an alarm blared.

"Oh no, we've been discovered!" Lin Yu exclaimed.

A group of enemies quickly surrounded them, trapping them in the middle.

"Hmph, I knew you'd come. You won't escape this time!" the enemy leader said smugly.

Conan calmly surveyed his surroundings, his mind racing as he considered how to respond.

Ran Mouri clenched her fists, ready to fight at any moment.

Nightshade lowered his voice and said, "Looks like we have no choice but to fight it out."

Ai Haibara said, "Don't act rashly. Let's see if there are any other solutions."

Just then, the enemy launched an attack. Conan and the others had no choice but to fight back.

Ran Mouri's karate moves were as swift and fierce as a whirlwind through the crowd, each strike carrying immense power. Lin Yu, on the other hand, used his high-tech equipment to unleash bursts of electricity, deterring enemies from approaching easily.

Night Shadow moved like a ghost, weaving among the enemies and searching for their weaknesses.

Conan fought while observing his surroundings. He spotted a ventilation shaft not far away, which might be their only hope for escape.

"Everyone, rush towards the ventilation shaft!" Conan shouted.

The group charged toward the ventilation shaft with all their might.

During the fierce battle, Ran Mouri was accidentally injured.

"Ran-neechan!" Conan called out worriedly.

"I'm fine, don't worry about me, let's go!" Ran Mouri said through gritted teeth.

Finally, they reached the ventilation shaft. Lin Yu quickly opened the shaft cover, and everyone climbed inside one by one.

The enemy was hot on their heels.

The ventilation ducts were narrow and dark, and they could only crawl forward with difficulty.

"Hurry up, they're catching up!" Nightshade urged.

Just then, a fork in the road appeared ahead.

"Go to the left!" Conan said decisively.

They continued along the passage on the left.

After climbing for an unknown amount of time, we finally saw the exit.

"Finally out!" Ai Haibara breathed a sigh of relief.

However, they found themselves in an unfamiliar place, surrounded by a desolate construction site.

"Where is this?" Lin Yu asked.

Conan looked around and said, "Never mind that for now, let's find a place to hide."

They found an abandoned shed at the construction site and hid inside.

"What do we do now?" Ran Mouri asked, her wound still bleeding.

Ai Haibara took out first-aid supplies from her backpack and treated Ran Mouri's wounds.

Conan thought for a moment and said, "We have to find a way to get back to the energy core and stop their plan."

Just then, the footsteps outside, which had been so faint as to be almost inaudible, began to grow clearer, as if a ferocious beast was slowly approaching its prey. This sudden sound broke the heavy and oppressive atmosphere inside the room.

"Shh, don't make a sound!" Conan whispered urgently, gesturing to everyone while simultaneously placing his right index finger to his lips in a shushing gesture. His sharp, hawk-like eyes were fixed intently on the doorway, his expression serious and focused.

As time ticked by, the footsteps grew ever closer, each step like a hammer blow to everyone's hearts. Finally, the mysterious footsteps abruptly stopped outside the workers' shed. The whole world seemed to freeze at that moment, with only the rapid pounding of everyone's hearts, pounding as if they were about to leap out of their throats.

"Is anyone in there?" A deep, slightly hesitant voice came from outside the door. Though not loud, the voice sounded particularly abrupt and loud in the quiet environment. The moment Conan heard it, he felt his heart leap into his throat, as if it were about to jump out. At the same time, everyone else gripped their weapons tightly, their palms sweating slightly from the exertion, their bodies taut, ready to respond to any potential danger.

After a long stalemate, suddenly, accompanied by a chilling creaking sound, the tightly closed door was slowly pushed open a crack...
