Chapter 44 The Crisis of the Temple

Faced with the mysterious figures surrounding them, Conan and the others quickly went on high alert.

"We mean no harm, we're just here to find the truth," Conan said loudly.

The leader of the mysterious figures snorted coldly: "No matter what your purpose is, you cannot trespass on the temple."

Kogoro Mouri stepped forward: "But we have important clues that indicate this place is related to the mystery we need to solve."

The leader remained unmoved: "That won't do either. This is our sacred land, and we will not allow outsiders to invade it."

Just as the two sides were deadlocked, Ran Mouri said, "Perhaps we can sit down and talk things over and find a solution that we can both accept."

The leader was silent for a moment, then finally nodded: "Alright, but you'd better not try anything funny."

The group followed the leader to a room. The room was simply furnished, but it was filled with a mysterious atmosphere.

"Speak, what exactly do you know?" the leader asked.

Conan recounted the story of the map and the ancient book, emphasizing that they only wanted to solve the mystery and had no intention of offending anyone.

Upon hearing this, the leader's expression softened slightly: "I see, but the temple does indeed harbor many dangers that you cannot easily handle."

Lin Yu said, "We have experienced many dangers and believe we have the ability to face them."

The leader pondered for a moment: "In that case, I can let you into the temple, but you must follow my instructions."

Conan and the others readily agreed.

Led by their chief, they arrived at the temple gate. The chief chanted incantations, a flash of light appeared, and the temple gate slowly opened.

The group entered the temple, which was dark and damp, with strange symbols and patterns carved on the walls.

"What are these?" Ran Mouri asked curiously.

The chief explained, "This is an ancient incantation and legend of our tribe."

Suddenly, a deep roar came from the depths.

"Watch out!" the leader shouted.

A gigantic monster emerged from the shadows; it was enormous, and its eyes gleamed with ferocity.

Kogoro Mouri assumed a fighting stance: "Don't be afraid, let's attack together!"

Conan observed the monster's movements and discovered that its weak point was its legs.

"Attack its legs!" Conan shouted.

Everyone launched their attacks: Ran Mouri's karate, Lin Yu's technological weapons, Ai Haibara's clever assistance, and Kogoro Mouri's fierce punches all aimed at the monster's legs.

The monster, in pain, angrily swung its claws.

In the midst of the fierce battle, the leader joined in, casting a mysterious spell that temporarily suppressed the monster.

"Now's the time!" the leader shouted.

Conan and his friends seized the opportunity to launch a final attack and finally defeated the monster.

However, before they could catch their breath, another incident occurred inside the temple.

The surrounding walls began to shake, and cracks appeared in the ground.

"Oh no, the temple is about to collapse!" Lin Yu exclaimed.

"Come with me!" The leader led them toward an exit.

During their escape, a huge rock rolled down and blocked their path.

Kogoro Mori used all his strength to push the boulder away.

The group continued running and finally escaped before the temple completely collapsed.

"Thank you. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have been able to defeat that monster," the leader said gratefully.

“But we haven’t found the answer we’re looking for yet,” Conan said.

The leader smiled slightly: "Actually, the answer lies in your hearts."

Conan and the others looked puzzled.

The chief continued, "The temple exists to protect our tribe's beliefs and secrets, and your courage and perseverance are the key to unlocking the mystery."

Conan pondered for a moment, then suddenly realized: "I understand now. It is our spirit of unity and fearlessness in the face of difficulties that has allowed us to get to where we are today."

The leader nodded: "That's right, I hope you can continue to uphold this belief."

Conan and the others bid farewell to the leader and embarked on their journey home.

On the road, they kept reflecting on their experience.

Back in the city, they discovered a new clue.

It turned out that during their absence, a bizarre theft had occurred in the city, with precious artifacts stolen from a museum, leaving behind markings similar to the mysterious symbols they had encountered earlier.

“There must be a connection between the two,” Conan said.

They began investigating the theft and discovered that the stolen artifacts were intricately connected to that mysterious tribe.

“It seems our adventure isn’t over yet,” Ran Mouri said.

Following the clues, they discovered a much larger conspiracy behind the theft gang.

This conspiracy involves a transnational criminal organization that attempts to use the power of these artifacts for nefarious purposes.

Conan and his friends decide to step forward once again to stop the criminal organization's plot...
