The deafening roar of the volcanic eruption was deafening; scalding lava raged in the seawater, which boiled and bubbled violently. Conan and the others hid in a depression, anxiously awaiting a lull in the eruption. They knew that every second of waiting was fraught with danger; they had to be wary not only of the lava that could spread at any moment but also of the toxic gases.
"This volcanic eruption is too violent; I don't know when it will end," Ran Mouri said through the communication device, her voice tinged with anxiety.
"Hang in there, everyone. We must seize the gaps in the eruption to place the rocks," Conan encouraged everyone, while keeping his eyes fixed on the crater, ready to act at any moment.
Time ticked by in tense anticipation. Finally, the volcano's eruption gradually weakened, and the frequency of lava ejection began to decrease. Conan seized the opportunity and shouted, "Now! Let's move!"
The group quickly swam out of the crater and, following Conan's instructions, each picked up a stone with a symbol on it and swam towards the crater's perimeter. The seawater, affected by the volcano, was extremely turbulent, making their movements extremely difficult. But they did not back down in the slightest, relying on their tenacious will and excellent swimming skills to strive towards their target location.
As Conan swam, he carefully recalled the pattern formed by the arrangement of the stone symbols and directed everyone's actions: "Nightshade, you put the stone with the triangular symbol in the northeast corner of the crater; Lin Yu, you are responsible for putting the stone with the circular symbol in the southwest corner."
Everyone was focused intently on their task, painstakingly adjusting the position of the stones in the swift current. Just as they were about to finish placing the stones, the volcano suddenly erupted again, sending a powerful column of lava hurtling towards them.
"Get out of the way!" Conan shouted, and everyone quickly scattered. Nightshade couldn't dodge in time and was grazed by the heat of the lava, the edge of his wetsuit scorching. Fortunately, he reacted quickly and adjusted his position in time, avoiding more serious injury.
"Night Shadow, are you alright?" Ran Mouri asked anxiously.
"I'm fine, everyone continue, we can't let this go to waste!" Nightshade replied through gritted teeth.
The renewed eruption of the volcano made the situation even more critical, but Conan and his friends did not give up. They continued their efforts to place the stones during the lulls in the eruption. After a series of thrilling maneuvers, they finally placed all the stones around the crater in a specific order.
The instant the last stone was placed in place, the lights on the stones simultaneously illuminated, intertwining to form a massive energy barrier that slowly pressed down towards the crater. The previously raging volcanic eruption gradually weakened under the pressure of the energy barrier, eventually ceasing altogether. Everything on the seabed began to slowly return to calm, the seawater temperature gradually decreased, and the toxic gases gradually dissipated.
"We did it! We successfully stopped the volcanic eruption!" Lin Yu shouted excitedly.
However, Conan knew this was only the first step; they still needed to confirm whether the seal was completely reinforced. They returned to the cave where the crystal ball was placed and found that its light had become softer and more stable, and the mysterious symbols that had appeared earlier had disappeared.
"It seems that the placement of the stone has indeed worked on the seal, but we cannot let our guard down yet," Conan said.
Ai Haibara took out her testing equipment and conducted a comprehensive scan of the crystal ball and the surrounding energy field. The scan results showed that the abnormal energy fluctuations in the deep sea were gradually subsiding, and the magnetic field was beginning to return to normal. However, some weak unstable factors still existed and required further processing.
“Although the situation has improved, there are still some signs of energy leakage, and we need to find a way to completely solve the problem,” Ai Haibara said.
Conan examined the crystal ball more closely and noticed a tiny groove on its bottom, the shape of which matched a small stone he had found in the cave earlier. Conan picked up the stone and tried to place it into the groove. The moment the stone fit, the crystal ball emitted a brilliant light, enveloping the entire cave in its glow.
After the light faded, new clues appeared on the crystal ball. Conan and Ai Haibara carefully deciphered these clues and discovered that they needed to find a special deep-sea plant and infuse its essence into the crystal ball to completely repair the seal.
“This deep-sea plant grows in the dark canyons of the deep sea, where the environment is extremely harsh and full of dangers. But we must find it,” Conan said.
Without hesitation, the group immediately swam towards the Dark Canyon in the deep sea. As they ventured deeper into the canyon, the surrounding light grew dimmer, and the temperature plummeted. The water pressure here was much higher than in previous locations, posing a greater challenge to their efforts.
Suddenly, a giant deep-sea squid leaped out of the darkness, its tentacles like thick ropes, lunging towards the group. This squid was enormous, its eyes flashing with an eerie red light, and it looked extremely ferocious.
"Everyone be careful, this squid is tough to deal with!" Conan shouted.
Ran Mouri reacted quickly, grabbing one of the incoming tentacles and pulling hard, trying to draw the squid's body closer. Then, she struck the squid's head with her other hand. However, the squid's body was exceptionally tough, and Ran's attack did not cause it much damage.
Nightshade used his agility to weave through the squid's tentacles, looking for an opportunity to attack its weak points. He discovered that although the squid's eyes were hard, there was a relatively soft area behind the eyeballs. Nightshade seized the opportunity and stabbed at the back of the squid's eyeballs. The squid cried out in pain, letting out a low growl, and its tentacles began to thrash wildly.
