Chapter 1083 Heading to Nagano Prefecture

Nagano Prefecture.

This place is located in the central part of Honshu Island. It can be said to be the central highlands sandwiched between Kanto and Kansai, and is known as the "Neon Roof".

It can be said that this nickname vividly reflects the geographical characteristics of the place.

The so-called "ridge" is the intersection line between the opposite slopes of the roof or the tops of the two opposite sides.

If Kanto and Kansai are likened to the slopes of a roof, then Nagano Prefecture would be the high ground where the two meet.

Because Nagano Prefecture is one of the few agricultural prefectures in Japan, as soon as he got off the station, Karasawa, who had a keen sense of smell, clearly felt that the air quality here was more than one level higher than that in Tokyo.

"Ah~ I didn't expect that I would have a day to travel on public funds~"

After getting off the bus, Nanatsuki Koshimizu stretched her stiff body after sitting for so long, taking in the surrounding scenery with some excitement. "This is wonderful! I haven't been to Nagano Prefecture yet. I must explore it!"

"I didn't bring you here just for fun." Tang Ze said speechlessly: "Don't forget, we are here on a business trip to investigate a case."

"I know, I know~"

Nanatsuki Koshimizu nodded obediently upon hearing what Karasawa said, then chuckled and said, "But I'm very grateful to you for saving me from the Criminal Academy~

Ah, it’s so boring there, studying and training every day, I hate that kind of monotonous life.

If you hadn't brought me out, I would have gone crazy in there."

"Don't exaggerate. Every detective in the Metropolitan Police Department has gone through this, and I haven't seen anyone go crazy."

Tang Ze rolled his eyes and shuddered unconsciously when he heard Nanatsuki Koshimizu address him. He felt a little uncomfortable for some reason: "Why are you calling me senior too? It feels weird."

"Hmm? Is there?"

Nanatsuki Koshimizu tilted her head: "But once you enter the workplace, aren't these honorific titles a given?

And you are indeed my senior, and my direct superior, but it doesn't feel too strange to call you "Inspector Karasawa".

But if you call him "Tang Ze" it would seem too disrespectful and would lead to gossip in the workplace.

If I call her by her name, I'm afraid Miss Ayako will get jealous, so after thinking about it, I think "senior" is more appropriate.

"Okay, okay."

Convinced by Nanatsuki Koshimizu's series of examples, Karasawa raised his hand in surrender: "I'm just a little uncomfortable with my friends suddenly calling me 'senpai' or something like that, but what you said makes sense, so just get used to it."

"Hehe~"

Nanatsuki Koshimizu smiled smugly at Karasawa's surrender, but she didn't continue the conversation. Instead, she asked, "So, Senior, are we going straight to the Nagano Prefectural Police Station? Or should we find a place to rest first?"

"Let's go to the police station and check the case files first."

Tang Ze thought for a moment and said, "There's no rush for a place to stay. After I finish reading the files, I'll definitely have to interview the people involved in the case. After I'm done questioning them, I'll figure out where to stay to make it easier for me to move."

"That's fine. The weather is warm now anyway, and I only have a backpack with me, so it won't affect my movements."

Nanatsuki Koshimizu nodded and agreed to Karasawa's arrangement.

The two hailed a taxi and went to the Nagano Prefectural Police Station. After identifying themselves, they were greeted by local detectives.

Of course, after they introduced themselves, most of the criminals in the police station began to look at them with scrutiny and displeasure.

In response, Tang Ze said he was used to it, and calmly followed the female detective who was in charge of reception to the office.

"Here are the files the minister has assigned to us."

The long-haired female detective handed the two men a piece of paper with a phone number on it. "The director has told me to do my best to cooperate with you on the case. If you need anything, please feel free to contact me."

"Thank you very much, but it shouldn't be too much trouble for you."

Tang Ze could see that, unlike the male detectives around him who showed displeasure on their faces, the other party's appearance was not fake, but he really had no opinion on the two of them, and his attitude was also very sincere.

I guess the director of the police station knew this, so he asked her to be responsible for receiving the two people.

"No, it won't be trouble."

The female detective smiled and said, "That's all I should do. Now you can look at the files. I'll be leaving now."

"Thank you for your help, sister." Nanatsuki Koshimizu called out sweetly and waved goodbye to the other party.

The two then began to review the case they were in charge of.

Looking through the files, the photo showed the first deceased in the case.

Judging from the name, this Yoshiro Torada is the son of his client.

According to the forensic examination, Yoshiro Torada had multiple fractures all over his body and appeared to have suffered a severe impact. He eventually died from excessive blood loss.

This type of injury usually results in death from falling from a height, but Yoshiro Torada's cause of death was somewhat different.

He was not pushed down from a high place, but was swept into the air by a tornado and fell onto the rocks and died.

"Isn't this obviously an accidental death?"

After reading the forensic report, Nanatsuki Koshimizu asked in surprise, "Could it be that there is other evidence indicating there's something else behind this accident?"

"You'll find out if you keep reading."

Tang Ze turned to the second page of the file, where there were several photos. Unlike the ID photos on the first page, these were obviously photos of the crime scene taken by the Forensic Department.

In the photo, Yoshiro Torada was lying in a pool of blood, with a lot of blood on the ground. He looked very miserable.

"Is this a centipede!?"

Both of them had extraordinary observation skills and quickly noticed the only inconsistency in the photo.
