"Detective Tang Ze, let's go."
The police car drove in front of Tang Ze and Patrolman Michida leaned out of the window and said.
"Here I come."
Tang Ze nodded, opened the car door, got in and walked towards the previous intersection.
Because the convenience store was not far from the intersection, the car had just started running for three minutes when it arrived at the intersection where the accident occurred.
At this moment, Mr. Che Gu was sitting alone on a chair by the roadside. He looked very painful and seemed to regret the accident that had happened before.
Looking at the sad-looking Che Gu Zhengsi, he did not have the slightest sympathy, and his eyes were full of scrutiny.
No matter how pitiful, painful, or sympathetic the other person appears, it cannot cover up the suspicion that he or she is a murderer.
Since he is a suspect, everything he does may be to escape punishment, so he naturally has no sympathy.
"Mr. Kurumiya, according to our investigation, you seem to know the deceased Mr. Hayami?"
Looking at the silent Kurumi Seiji, Tang Ze chose to go straight to the point: "Why didn't you say this before?"
"No, the most we've ever met is just a passing encounter." Kurumi Zhengsi quickly explained, "I don't know much about him personally."
"Then can you tell me why the two of you were arguing in front of the convenience store?"
Tang Ze continued to ask without changing his expression, "The store manager said he saw the two of you at the door, and you seemed very excited at the time."
"To be honest, that red imported car was originally sold by a friend of mine who owns a used car dealership."
Che Guzhengsi explained: "Later, I heard from a friend that the buyer seemed to be unable to pay the loan. Today, I met the owner of the car and went up to say hello and said a few words, but it seems that I angered him.
The reason I was so angry at the time was because the other party clearly still owed money and was the one in the wrong, but his attitude was so arrogant that I couldn't help but say a few words to him.
"But then again, why did you come here, Mr. Kurumi?"
Michida Panzi glanced at the driver's license and handed it back to Kurumiya Zhengsi while asking, "I saw your home address on the driver's license. It seems to be completely opposite to this direction, right?"
"It's nothing. I'm just free today, so I wanted to get some prescriptions and take a drive around here." Che Gu Zhengsi said.
“Is it because rainbows are beautiful?”
Ayako, who was standing by, didn't investigate with Tang Ze and the others, and still thought he was just a simple victim of the accident. She couldn't help but speak in agreement, trying to ease the silent atmosphere.
"rainbow?"
But after hearing Ayako's words, Kurumiya Zhengsi looked confused: "Did a rainbow appear before?"
Hearing Che Gu Zhengsi's casual question, Tang Ze was indeed stunned for a moment, and then looked at Che Gu Zhengsi with sharp eyes.
"What were you asking just now?" Che Gu Zhengsi looked at them angrily and said, "What you are asking has nothing to do with this traffic accident, right?"
"Of course it is related. We need to make sure that this case is a real accident and not a murder that could be planned by someone." Tang Ze said lightly.
"Murder...are you kidding me?!" Kurumi Zhengsi jumped up when he heard Tang Ze's words, and asked in shock and anger: "Do you think I killed him?"
"Based on the current situation, this is correct."
Tang Ze's tone remained calm. He stared at Che Gu Zhengsi with a pair of sharp eyes, which made the other party unconsciously avoid his gaze.
"This is totally unreasonable!" As if realizing his own guilt, Che Guzhengsi roared fiercely the next moment: "This is just an ordinary traffic accident, not some random mystery story you made up!"
"A mystery story."
Tang Ze didn't get angry when he heard this, but smiled slightly: "Do you have any basis for saying this?
Aren't your groundless remarks nothing more than conjecture?
At least every one of our speculations is backed by solid investigation.”
"Investigate! Then tell us about the suspicious aspects of your investigation!"
Kurumi Seiji said dissatisfiedly: "Just because I had an argument with him at a convenience store, do you want to kill him?!"
"If it was a murder in the heat of the moment, it would be simple."
Tang Ze saw that Che Gu Zhengsi was about to say something, but he immediately cut him off by changing the subject: "But if you want to say there are some suspicious points, there are some.
Chief Inspector Michida, could you please send someone to check the ashtray of Mr. Kurumi's car to see if there is a cigarette butt like the one in my hand.
Tang Ze took out a wad of tissue paper and opened it to reveal a bent cigarette butt. There was a letter "p" printed on the end where the cigarette was not completely smoked.
"Eh? But I remember Mr. Kurumi didn't seem to smoke, right?"
Recalling the scene when Tang Ze offered a cigarette to the other party but was rejected when they first met, Michida Junko said with some surprise.
"Maybe Mr. Kurumi doesn't smoke, but that doesn't mean there aren't cigarette butts on that green car, right?"
Tang Ze handed the cigarette butt to the detective next to him. Seeing that his expression gradually became grim, he seemed to see through the confusion in his eyes. He smiled and asked, "Why do you think I asked the detective next to me for a cigarette?"
"Why...?" There was confusion and puzzlement in Che Gu Zhengsi's eyes, but more of it was the fear of exposing the flaw.
“Because I smell it.”
Tang Ze nodded and said, "My sense of smell is far superior to that of an ordinary person, so the moment you opened the door of the taxi, I smelled the mixed smell of blood and tobacco in the car.
