Chapter 4 The Case

"Oh! I really miss the days when I worked on cases with the police officers!"

Kogoro Mouri's loud laughter woke up Karasawa, who was staring at Conan in a daze.

"Yeah... It was thanks to you, my subordinate, that the case became more and more complicated and difficult..." Inspector Megure muttered as he looked at the laughing Kogoro Mouri.

According to Kogoro Mori, Miss Yoko recently discovered signs of her home being ransacked, and someone also made threatening phone calls to her and sent her secretly taken photos.

Kogoro Mouri came here to investigate this case, but he didn't expect to find the dead person as soon as he entered the door.

"Excuse me, have you always turned on the heating so strongly?" After hearing what Kogoro Mouri said, Karasawa regained his composure and asked Yoko Okino who was standing beside him.

Looking at Yoko Okino with a frightened look on her face, Tang Ze couldn't help but secretly praise her as a beauty.

She has brown hair, milky white skin, and especially an outstanding temperament.

The previous conversation also made people feel the gentle side of this beauty. Even though she is a popular actress, she does not look overbearing at all.

At this moment, because of what happened, he looks even more pitiful. No wonder he is so popular.

"Indeed, this room is really hot..." Inspector Megure is fat and afraid of heat. When he heard what Tang Ze said, he couldn't help but shake his clothes to cool down.

"No... not that strong..." Okino Yoko asked doubtfully, "And I remember clearly turning off the air conditioner when I left the house..."

"I don't know what's strange, Officer Megure..."

At some point, Conan had already crouched at the crime scene, holding a magnifying glass that he had found from nowhere. "Although the marks are not very obvious, there are indeed signs of water around the entity..."

"And look at this chair... In such a messy room, why is the chair next to the body the only one standing?"

Conan crossed his arms over his chest, his expression extremely focused: "Also, the heating is turned on so strong, are you trying to mislead us about the time of death?

No... If that's the case, wouldn't it be more... effective to just soak the body in water..."

Conan's voice became softer and softer as he suddenly realized something. He turned his head mechanically little by little and found that Inspector Megure and Kogoro Mouri were staring down at him.

Kogoro Mouri had an angry expression on his face, and his right fist was clenched tightly, ready to punch the other party.

"Well, Mr. Maori, the child is still young and doesn't understand, so don't blame him." Tang Ze stopped Maori Kogoro who was about to beat Conan and said with a smile.

"You are..." Kogoro Mouri looked at the young man in front of him and asked hesitantly.

"Ah, I'm Tang Ze Genichi, who has been studying with Inspector Megure recently. Please give me your guidance."

"Hello, I'm Maori Kogoro, this is my daughter Maori Ran, and this kid is called Conan."

After hearing Karasawa's self-introduction, Maori Kogoro also introduced Xiaolan and Conan. He looked at Conan with a stern expression and said, "Karasawa-kun, don't spoil the child too much. This kid is actually playing detective games at the crime scene... Humph!"

In fact, it’s no wonder that Kogoro Mouri got so angry. Only after seeing it with his own eyes did he realize how absurd it was to have an elementary school student lying next to a corpse at a crime scene.

However, although he understood Kogoro Mouri's feelings, Karasawa still chose to curry favor with him!

After all, this guy is the son of the god of death. If you maintain a good relationship with him, the chances of him being in trouble are very small.

"Well, all kids are like that." Tang Ze picked up Conan and said with a smile, "Little friend, you can't do this. Let's go to the side."

"Sorry to trouble you." Xiaolan hurried forward to take Conan.

"It's okay, it's okay. Actually, what the kid said makes a lot of sense."

Tang Ze looked at Conan and smiled, "But if you have any ideas, just tell me directly, don't go to the scene without permission."

"Hey, I get it." Conan said cutely.

"So, was the fatal wound to the deceased the knife wound on his back?"

Not wanting to dwell on this matter any further, Tang Ze handed Conan to Xiaolan and asked the forensic personnel of the Forensic Department.

"Yes, the knife wound on the back was the fatal cause of death. I'm afraid it should be considered death." The forensic officer nodded.

"Is that kitchen knife yours?" Inspector Megure looked at Yoko Okino and asked, "So it's normal for your fingerprints to be on the knife..."

"Yes..." Yoko Okino said a little uneasily.

"Officer, do you suspect Yoko?" The man standing next to Yoko Okino said anxiously.

"Who are you?"

"I... I am Yoko's agent Eiichi Yamagishi..." Facing Megure's questioning, the man stuttered.

"Oh? Have you seen the deceased?"

Yoko Okino: “Uh…”

"We haven't seen the body yet because we were too scared..." the agent said fearfully.

"Then please come and take a look!" Inspector Megure scratched his face helplessly.

"!?"

When the two men walked towards the body and saw the deceased's face, the horror on their faces was already lingering.

"Ah...ah..." The two of them opened their mouths wide and looked panicked.

"Have you seen it?" Inspector Megure couldn't help but ask again after seeing the reactions of the two.

"Uh... let me take a closer look..." The agent hurriedly moved a little closer, but accidentally stepped on the blood on the ground and fell directly on the corpse.

“Wow!!” the agent quickly stood up and screamed in fear.

"Hey! Don't touch the body!!" the forensic officer yelled.

"Sorry... I'm sorry! My foot suddenly slipped..." The agent fell to the ground and explained hurriedly.
