It rained all night last night. Although it stopped this morning, the sky was still covered with dark clouds, as if they were accumulating rain, waiting for the moment when it would pour down.
There were very few pedestrians on the road, and even if there were, they were all in a hurry, fearing that the heavy rain that could come at any time would fall on them.
A feminine sky blue car cut from the main road into the side road and drove towards the Beishen family's mansion.
The car quickly stopped at the gate. Haruko Kitagami got out of the car, opened the gate, and drove into the yard.
The door opened and Kitagami Haruko walked towards the stairs on the left, but after taking two steps, she realized something was wrong and turned around and walked quickly towards the sofa on the right.
Then she saw it.
A suitcase was piled on the edge of the coffee table, and on the table there were open beer cans and half-empty wine glasses.
This undoubtedly proves that someone has been in the house, and it seems that the other person has just returned from a trip outside.
Looking at the things in front of her, Haruko Kitagawa instantly dropped the bag in her hand and ran towards the study upstairs.
When she arrived at the study with the door open, the lights on inside and the documents on the desk seemed to indicate that someone had been there before.
She walked forward hesitantly, cautiously as if she was looking at some rare treasure.
Then she saw the open computer displaying plant information and the notebook open, obviously her father had been checking the information.
Kitagami Haruko looked around, trying to find something, but the room was empty.
Her pupils dilated slightly and her breathing unconsciously became heavier.
She began to search the whole house for the figure that had been haunting her dreams.
But he couldn't find the other person in either the study or his father's room.
But suddenly, she seemed to hear footsteps coming from under her feet.
Hearing the noise, Haruko Kitagami ran towards the bedroom balcony like crazy.
Then she saw her father walking towards the house in a white suit and top hat.
He seemed to notice that his daughter was looking at him upstairs, so he looked up slightly, smiled at her, and then walked into the house.
But at this moment, Kitagami Haruko stood there in shock as if struck by a bolt from the blue.
The man below revealed his face, and it was none other than the father she had been thinking about day and night!
“Dad! Dad!!”
Kitagami Haruko ran downstairs from the balcony like a madman, but when she came to the sofa on the first floor again, the white figure seemed to have completely disappeared and could not be found anywhere.
She rushed out of the door and looked around, but still didn't see any human figure, as if everything before was just her illusion.
"How is it possible..."
Kitagami Haruko muttered to herself and turned back to the house. She looked at the opened beer can, picked it up and took a big gulp!
The slightly bitter beer brought the most real feeling from the tip of her tongue. Haruko Kitagami recalled the scene she saw on the balcony, and felt more and more that it was not an illusion.
That's my father!
No...but it's obvious...
Haruko Kitagami thought she was crazy for thinking her father would appear here.
She put the can down, took a deep breath and walked towards the bathroom.
The cold water refreshed the person's spirits and made him seem much more awake.
But when she walked out of the bathroom, she found her father standing by the sofa and walking towards the door.
She ran frantically towards the door, but after looking around, there was still no sign of anyone.
"Ha ha..."
Haruko Kitagawa was panting and stroking her forehead with both hands. She seemed to hear the sound of a phone coming from inside the house. She shook her head and walked into the house somewhat unsteadily.
When she answered the phone hesitantly, her expression changed drastically.
The next moment, she hurried to the sofa, picked up her bag thrown on the sofa, and walked towards the car.
The car sped off towards an unknown destination, but did not notice that a black car was following far behind it.
Kitagawa Haruko sped all the way and soon arrived at the door of a western-style villa with overgrown weeds in the yard. The name hanging on the plaque of the villa was also "Kitagawa".
She opened the door and walked into the house. She could see white cloth covering the furniture everywhere. It was obvious that no one had lived there for a long time.
But she had no intention of missing him at all. She just opened the door and hurriedly turned left.
She took out a bunch of keys from the cabinet. After identifying them, she took one of the keys and walked towards the basement of the house as if carrying all the expectations and fears.
The two steps were obviously so short, and her pace was obviously not slow, but for some reason, they felt unusually long to her.
But the key still opened the lock on the door.
When everything in the room appeared in front of Haruko Kitagami, she just stood at the door in a daze.
When the lights turned on, there seemed to be a figure lying on the recliner in the basement.
"dad!!"
Kitagami Haruko moved forward hesitantly, bit by bit. How could there be a living person in this wine cellar where the temperature was only ten degrees?
The person lying on the chair had already turned into a corpse.
Using the word corpse to describe it might not be entirely accurate, as the corpse had long since lost its complete appearance after years of corrosion. The flesh and blood had dried into a thin layer of black covering the already visible bones, leaving only a tattered outer layer draped over the outside.
This scene is even more terrifying than just the white bones. Just one look at it makes people's stomach churn and cause physical discomfort.
