The conversation with Toshio Iwamatsu ended on a rather unpleasant note.
Until the end of the conversation, Iwamatsu Toshio did not directly answer Kisaki Eri's question, which made Kisaki Eri feel gloomy.
As a defense lawyer, the thing I fear most is that the defense client does not trust me at all and is unwilling to tell me information that is unfavorable to me.
In this way, if a problem arises and you are unable to respond due to lack of necessary information, it will be very disadvantageous in court.
But Iwamatsu Toshio was unwilling to cooperate. Even though she knew there might be something hidden behind this, there was nothing she could do. In the end, she could only leave with her bag.
"Isn't this Lawyer Fei?"
While deep in thought, Kisaki Eri suddenly heard someone calling her name. She looked up and found a beautiful woman with medium-long hair standing in front of her.
"Prosecutor Kujo." When Kisaki Eri saw that the person coming was Kujo Reiko, who was known as the ace of the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office, she greeted her with a smile.
"I heard that you took on the job of defending Toshio Iwamatsu?" Reiko Kujo asked with a smile.
"Well, I just went to have a meeting with him." Kisaki Eri said with a smile.
"I'm very much looking forward to being able to debate the rights and wrongs of this case with Kisaki Eri in front of the jury." Kujo Reiko smiled gently, "Please show some mercy."
"Please too." Kisaki Eri smiled gently.
The conversation between the two beauties seemed humble, but in fact, there was a sense of confrontation in their eyes.
This is normal. After all, this is not the first time the two have clashed. Although there is no enmity between them, the positions of defense lawyers and prosecutors are inherently opposing.
This time, the two of them stood on opposite sides because of a case, so it was naturally impossible for them to be harmonious.
Although there is no hatred between them, every defeat of Kujo Reiko puts the two in a delicate competitive state.
At least until the end of this court session, the two of them will not be able to talk to each other in a friendly and amicable manner.
In the blink of an eye, the day of the trial came.
At the Tokyo District Court, Kobayashi Sumiko was hurriedly running to the meeting room after receiving the news.
In the middle of the conversation, she frantically took out her phone and informed the principal of the news.
"I'm sure I've been selected!" Kobayashi Sumiko said excitedly, then a little embarrassedly: "So, about the school class we talked about a few days ago..."
"Ah, you don't have to worry about that."
An old voice came from the phone and beside her at the same time. As Kobayashi Sumiko looked surprised, the principal came up from behind her with a phone in his hand.
"You're amazing, teacher!" Genta's praise made Kobayashi Sumiko turn around in surprise, "Why, you guys..."
"Because I changed this class into a self-study class." The principal smiled and stroked his beard. "And these kids said they'd treat it as a social practice class while also giving Teacher Kobayashi some encouragement."
"I always thought that the teacher would be chosen!" Ayumi folded her hands and said with longing: "Now she has been chosen!"
"So what case are the jurors on?" Mitsuhiko asked curiously.
"Shhh!!"
Kobayashi Sumiko felt shy and anxious when she heard her student's words. She put her right hand to her mouth like a zipper and said with a serious expression, "I have an obligation to keep it a secret!"
After solemnly stating her stance, Kobayashi Sumiko looked at the principal and said, "Well, I have to go to the jury briefing now. Please excuse me."
"Yes." The principal nodded and smiled. "You are the first teacher in the history of our Teitan Elementary School to be selected as a judge. Please do your best!"
"yes!"
Kobayashi Sumiko answered seriously, and then the three little ones kept clapping to cheer for their class teacher.
Afterwards, the five little ones, led by the principal and others, came to the hall of the Tokyo District Court to prepare to take the little ones back to school, while Conan and Haibara deliberately fell behind.
"Which case did Mr. Kobayashi participate in the trial?" Haibara and Conan came to the display board informing about the trial and looked at it.
"It should be that one." Conan pointed to one of the cases.
"Huh?"
Before the two of them could continue talking, Xiaolan's surprised voice came from the corridor: "Conan-kun, Ai-chan!?"
"Sister Xiaolan and uncle?" Conan was surprised when he saw the two of them: "Why are you here?"
"I was going to ask you something." Xiaolan said with a smile: "Conan-kun, are you also here to see the court where my mother is serving as a defense lawyer?"
"Huh?" Conan asked in surprise: "Could it be..."
"After all, this is Attorney Kisaki Eri's first time participating in a defense trial with a jury, so it's normal for you two to attend."
Before Xiaolan could speak, Tangze and Shiratori walked over.
"Eh? Detective Karasawa and Detective Shiratori!?" Maori Kogoro asked in surprise, "Why are you two here too? Are you here to sit in on the trial as well?"
"Could it be the same one with mom and the others?" Xiaolan asked in surprise.
"I'm here to accompany Shiratori." Tang Ze smiled and nudged Shiratori with his shoulder, earning an embarrassed smile from the other party.
"It's Teacher Kobayashi." Huihara's face showed understanding.
"What a coincidence." Conan couldn't help but sigh when he heard it.
"After all, this is the first court with a jury system, so it's natural that it will attract attention." Tang Ze agreed with a smile.
"Yeah, my dad and I were a little worried, so we came here." Xiaolan said thankfully, "It's also a good thing the school has a review holiday, otherwise we wouldn't be able to come."
