Chapter 10

Chapter 10

Rina was about to call Miyako to take Murai away when she heard what Kurosawa Shiran said.

She spoke slowly and deliberately: "Or should we have the police take you away as well?"

"What a cold and heartless pet," Kurozawa Shiran said sadly. "Sister, I was just kidding. I don't even dare to kill a chicken."

Rina dialed Miyako's number, and while doing so, she glanced out of the corner of her eye and saw Kurosawa Shiran sitting on the stone slab as if she had been wronged, gently stirring the cherry blossoms on the water's surface with her hand.

Her fingers were long and slender, with fair skin and slightly prominent veins on the back of her hands.

He gives people the feeling of a spring breeze in the mountains, with an extremely clean and pure aura.

It's unimaginable that such hands are stained with blood.

Rina and Miyako exchanged a few words and then hung up the phone.

After a moment of silence, she said calmly, "Interrogation is something that should be left to professionals. I don't like communicating with people who are full of lies."

Kurosawa Shiran threw away the pebble in his hand, sniffed, and looked like he had been crying.

He looked up at Rina, "Sister?"

With a heavy nasal tone, Rina suddenly felt a pang of guilt, as if she had bullied a primary school student. "You think the person behind this is Kawashima Makoto?"

"Mm." Kurosawa Shiran nodded.

Rina hesitated, and the atmosphere fell silent.

The stone lanterns by the pond emitted a light like scattered gold, which, as water droplets fell, were stained by the light and turned into a shower of glass, transforming into a delicate rainbow.

Rina watched for a while, then took off her black lace gloves and threw them into the trash can next to her: "Both of Kawashima Hideo's wives have been involved in incidents, as well as my sister. These three cases were committed by the same person. Fifteen years ago, Kawashima Makoto was studying abroad and rarely came home. The two of them didn't communicate much either, and the servants can testify to this."

Kurosawa Tokiaki had a bad feeling: "What about Makoto-san?"

Rina: "She should be the next person to receive the letter."

Kurosawa Shiran sighed and said in a low voice, "If she receives the letter, she will probably let everyone know."

Even though the person in the photo isn't her, her sister will still be very troubled if it gets out.

Should we kill them too?

Kill all the ones in the way.

“She’s enjoying the process,” Rina recalled for a moment, “watching her prey being toyed with to death from the shadows, a psychopath with an insatiable desire for control, and also connected to the mafia.”

Kurosawa Shiran was stunned for a moment.

Rina opened her phone, clicked on a lipstick ad, and stared at it for a long time.

She said, "Golden Butterfly, have you ever heard of that name?"

The Mafia's activities are extensive, involving illegal areas such as gambling, pornography, and drug trafficking. In addition, they also interfere in politics, colluding with government officials and large business tycoons. Some even have a presence in the entertainment industry, supporting top stars.

Golden Butterfly is a Mafia member who infiltrated the government, one of the seven top executives. Apart from the boss and a few other executives, no one else has ever seen her true face.

They didn't even know her code name.

Something even the police didn't know about.

How did she know?

Kurosawa Shiran felt Rina's gaze and gave an awkward laugh. "Are you saying that this golden puffball is the mastermind behind this?"

Rina looked away and deleted the advertisement.

About twenty minutes later, Miyako arrived with two police officers. "Is this the person?"

Rina: "Gathering people for gambling."

“This guy is a repeat offender. He used to work as a hostess at the first bar. He’s probably back to his old ways.” The officer took out handcuffs and cuffed the man without hesitation.

Miyako glanced at Rina, then at Kurosawa Shiran, who stood beside her seemingly unaffected, her expression gradually becoming complicated.

They then dragged the person directly into the police car, saying, "Didn't you say this person was dangerous? Why are you still with him?"

"When did I say that?" Lina didn't want to bring it up, so she explained what had just happened and her guesses to her.

Based on her intuition from years of experience in the forensic field, Miyako couldn't help but feel uneasy.

Since the mastermind behind the murder forced Kawashima Hideo's two previous wives to their deaths, Natsume Rina's current situation is extremely dangerous.

She said, "The murderer will definitely take action."

Rina: "So you need to interrogate that person carefully, and try to find some evidence on him."

Miyako looked out the window, then turned to her and asked, "Evidence?"

“Evidence of his contact with the people behind the scenes,” Rina forced a smile through her dry lips, “I won’t say anything more, or those people will notice in time.”

With so many distinguished guests here today, if they find out the police were here, who knows what rumors will spread.

Miyako hesitated for a moment. She wanted to stay and check on the situation, but the police officers had been so busy these past few months that they couldn't keep up.

This month, she worked overtime for half a month straight, and there are still a lot of things left to do.

"Sometimes I envy you, having a human rights capitalist boss who doesn't exploit you."

Rina smiled and, before leaving, handed her the photograph she had obtained from Mrs. Barkley.

Miyako was so shocked that she couldn't speak after taking it.

Rina: "Take another look."

“Ah, yes, you have a tattoo on your chest and a scar from surgery,” Miyako said, unusually flustered. “This is your… sister.”

Rina pointed out, "There are words on the back of the photo."

Miyako flipped the photo over and frowned, saying, "It has the same words as your tattoo. Could the mastermind behind this case be related to what happened five years ago?"

The soul is sacrificed to the devil.

Five years ago, Rina Natsume and her classmates watched a musical at a London opera house.

On her way to the toilet, she was drugged and knocked unconscious. When she woke up, she found these words tattooed on her body.

After calling the police, she didn't really care.

Two weeks later, a series of tragedies began to occur around her.

One of them was a classmate who went to see a musical with her and committed suicide by jumping off a building.

After that, she was always inexplicably involved in these murder cases.

For example, she might be at the crime scene, or she might have had a grudge against the deceased.

Her class schedule would be changed, she would be followed when she went out, and even in the chemistry lab, her data summaries would be read.

Anyone would break down in this situation.

Although Rina is not good at perceiving other people's emotions, she can still sense that her classmates and friends are distancing themselves from her.

This strange and eerie feeling was as if... as if it were tempting her to commit a crime.

After Rina realized this, she was stopped by two strange people before she could go to the police station to report the case.

Appearing at the lab entrance were a slovenly, greasy middle-aged man and a strangely dressed, obsessive-compulsive, and secretly eccentric man.

But she still joined the Suzaku Detective Agency without any clear understanding of what was going on.

And no such suspicious situation has occurred since then.

Rina pressed her temples, and before the party was over, she took a car back to the villa. By the time she got to her room, it was already past 11 p.m.

Takase had to deal with the party arrangements, so he didn't come along.

Even though she got rid of him, she couldn't find the man she wanted at the party, and she was at a loss for what to do.

She found no evidence that the murderer committed the crime.

Rina pushed open the window; it was pitch black outside.

This villa is like that: dim lights, old-fashioned decor, secrets everywhere, and an eerie atmosphere pervading the entire place.

Even the mountain breeze smelled musty.

"Sister, why haven't you said anything?" Kurosawa Shiran tied an apron around her neck, having found it somewhere.

Pink fabric with strawberry and bear patterns.

Surprisingly, it didn't seem out of place at all with him. Rina took a deep breath. "Why did you come along?"

"Sister should take care of her health. The water heater is ready. Why don't you go take a shower and relax? By the time you come out, dinner should be ready." Kurosawa Shiran paused for a moment. "I made curry. Is there anything else you'd like to eat?"

Rina: "......"

Exhausted after a long day, she leaned weakly against the wall, too weak to even look at him.

"Doesn't your sister like this apron?" Kurosawa Shiran also noticed that her expression was not good.

She didn't eat anything at the party.

Rina didn't know what to say. After a long while, she said, "Could you please cut your bangs? They're really bothering me..."

"Sure, I also think it's too long, but I haven't had the time," Kurosawa Shiran brushed a strand of hair from her forehead, revealing one eye. "If I cut it shorter, will you like me more, sister?"

Rina realized for the first time that if she tidied up her messy, mushy hair...

People are now much more expensive than before.

She asked, "What do you want to say?"

Kurosawa Shiran shook his fluffy head and said seriously, "Can you be my girlfriend?"

Rina's eyelids twitched violently a few times, and without saying a word, she went to the bathroom.

After taking off the elaborate kimono, I felt much more relaxed.

Half an hour later, I came out and the aroma of beef curry wafted towards me.

Dinner has been served and placed on the table.

It was still steaming.

The person who had just uttered those arrogant words was now slumped over the coffee table, seemingly asleep.

Rina looked around at her surroundings, somewhat surprised.

He even tidied up the room while he was at it.

In her memory, Mrs. Kasuga had never been this hardworking.

Hearing the sounds of eating coming from the kitchen, Kurosawa Shiran cautiously opened her eyes to look at her, a deep smile appearing in her eyes.

However, feeling guilty, he quickly closed his eyes again.

If he goes back to the ranch at this time, he will definitely feed the mosquitoes as before.

The older sister is beautiful and kind-hearted; she will definitely take him in!

Thinking of this, Kurosawa Shiran secretly breathed a sigh of relief, and then felt a slight abnormality.

Lina crossed her arms, scrutinized him for a while, and after thinking it over, finally decided to let him know what the wickedness of society was.

Kurosawa Shiran didn't sense any killing intent, so he didn't take it seriously.

After all, her older sister's fighting skills were really not that great; even if she wanted to fight back, it wouldn't be a problem for her to kill him.

But to his utter surprise, a sudden chill ran down his spine, causing him to open his eyes abruptly. "Sister, you're lifting my clothes... I'm not ready."

"Just looking around, why are you so excited?" Rina didn't see the tattoo, and her gaze unconsciously moved downwards.

Kurosawa Shiran sat up straight and said with a reserved expression, "Sister, I feel shy when you look at me like that."
