Chapter 17

Chapter 17

"You should know, right? The guy my sister went on a date with."

Kurosawa Shiran's expression remained unchanged, but his voice turned cold, sending a slight chill down one's spine.

Arisu Kazumi paused for a moment, then subconsciously asked, "You mean, she's dating you, but she's also dating other men?"

The room was quiet for a moment.

Kurosawa Shiran concealed his aura, lifted his eyelids, and said in a serious tone, "That's how it is."

Cheating? A look of surprise flashed across Arisu Kazumi's eyes as she asked again, "You're her boyfriend, right?"

Kurosawa Shiran: "Could I have any other identity?"

Indeed, Natsume Rina has built a wall in her heart, and she maintains a certain social distance when interacting with people. She would not bring people to the old house for no reason.

Unless he has a special status.

But this person doesn't look like a good person at all!

She actually naively thought that Rina didn't like QR codes; turns out she has even more unusual tastes!

“She didn’t tell me who she was going to meet. Let’s ask Damian; he might know.” Arisu Kazumi stood still, silently gripping the dagger in her backpack, and quietly observing his every move. “He knows Rina’s location.”

Although the other party's identity is uncertain, they will definitely be a tough opponent if a fight breaks out.

Kurosawa Shiran gently stroked the photo frame with his fingertips, leaning back in his chair and looking at her with a faint smile on his lips. "Anytime is fine?"

Completely unsure of the other party's intentions, Arisu Kazumi felt a little apprehensive and slowly nodded, "Yes, he can even check Rina's vital signs."

Was he an undercover agent sent by that organization to infiltrate Natsume's inner circle?

Kurosawa Shiran: "Let him come over."

Upon hearing this, Arisu Kazumi was even more shocked.

Kurosawa Shiran didn't take her seriously at all, and continued to leisurely sip her instant coffee. "I don't like to repeat myself. You have no choice."

Arisu Kazumi noticed the slight, warning-like coldness in his eyes, and a chill suddenly ran through her: "Who exactly are you?"

Kurosawa Shiran sighed, tucked her long legs in, and slowly stood up: "It seems you really can't understand what I'm saying."

Arisu Kazumi met his gaze, waiting for him to approach step by step, secretly tightening her grip on the hilt of her sword: "........You really want to know?"

Kurosawa Shiran stood in front of her, leaned down, and revealed a strange smile.

Just then, Arisu Kazumi drew her blade and, with a taut force, thrust it toward his neck without the slightest hesitation.

She never expected that she would be unable to move when the tip of the knife was only three inches from his neck.

Arisu Kazumi's pupils contracted sharply, and she squeezed out a sentence through gritted teeth: "Who exactly are you!"

It took a lot of effort, yet it was pressed down so easily?

You should know that she was called a freak since she was a child, just because she was many times stronger than others.

When she was in kindergarten, she could beat all the boys in her class so badly they were knocked to the ground.

After middle school, she could easily put down a fat man weighing over 300 pounds with one hand.

This was the first time she had lost to someone in terms of strength.

After a long silence, Kurosawa Shiran raised an eyebrow slightly and finally spoke, "You'd better only say what I want to hear, otherwise you'll lose interest, and your boss will suffer a terrible fate."

“It seems Rina really misjudged him,” Arisu Kazumi gritted her trembling teeth, barely managing to calm herself down.

She tried to fight back, but was stopped twice. She said through gritted teeth, "Our ideas coincide, so why can't we cooperate?"

Upon hearing this, the mockery on Kurosawa Toki's lips became quite obvious.

He snatched the knife from her hand and stabbed it firmly into the wall, wedging it perfectly between two boards.

Arisu Kazumi keenly sensed a strong killing intent and decided to join forces with him, since it was the truth anyway, otherwise she would be the one to die.

"I've wanted to kill her for a long time."

Kurosawa Shiran looked at her coldly, "Is that so? Then why haven't you been able to kill her yet?"

Kazumi Arisu: "She has Mr. Nanase by her side."

Kurosawa Shiran gave an elegant laugh: "That genius detective, didn't he die a year ago?"

With a disdainful tone, Arisu Kazumi glared at him fiercely, "Yes, after Mr. Nanase died, she never returned to the detective agency, otherwise she would definitely be dead."

Kurosawa Shiran: "Would you mind explaining the reason?"

He puts on a gentle, devilish face, but he's sure to die if he doesn't say so.

A hint of malice flashed in Arisu Kazumi's eyes as she gritted her teeth and said, "She killed my brother! If it weren't for Nanase, she would be a mental patient now, and I would have killed her sooner or later."

In terms of pure strength, her older sister is no match for her at all.

Kurosawa Shiranami paused slightly, looking quite annoyed. "But I haven't had enough fun yet."

The voice was gentle and soothing; one might have thought it was saying something nice.

Arisu Kazumi glared at him, disgusted by his attitude.

After a long while, she suppressed her resentment and asked, "You don't like her, do you?"

Kurosawa Shiran: "I like it."

Arisu Kazumi pursed her lips. "You can never replace Nanase in her heart. There's a popular meme on the internet: no one can replace the white moonlight that has died, and you'll never forget it."

Kurosawa Shiran: "She's just a dead person. I'll make her even more unforgettable."

Arisu Kazumi scoffed lightly, "I really don't know why she keeps you by her side."

Kurosawa Shiran sat down on the sofa, lazily crossing her legs again, looking very relaxed. "Let's get back to business. Why did you ask me to join the detective agency, sister?"

elder sister?

Kazumi Arisu was speechless and rolled her eyes in annoyance: "It's okay if you don't want to come to the company, senpai. After all, the detective agency isn't doing very well lately... even the cleaning lady resigned. The company is seriously short-staffed, so she assigned you this position."

Kurosawa Shiran's smile vanished instantly. "So, what kind of work does your older sister usually handle?"

Kazumi Arisu said very sincerely, "Ms. Rina is in charge of field work and forensic work. She is often with Mr. Nanase. She is in charge of eating, drinking and having fun and hardly does any serious work. Mr. Nanase takes good care of her."

"I need to know where she is now." Kurosawa Shiran had absolutely no desire to hear that name anymore.

Especially when the two names are put together, it's incredibly infuriating.

Arisu Kazumi took out her phone and sent an email to Damian: [Natsume's location.]

Then, after thinking about it carefully, I realized, "He's in London right now and won't be coming here for the time being."

Kurosawa Shiran ignored her, got up, took her phone, and used her account to send a message: 【Coming to Japan.】

Because of her lack of strength, Arisu Kazumi didn't dare to move at all and could only stand there awkwardly, watching him nervously.

After that, neither of them spoke again, and the air felt as cold as if it had frozen.

Then, the phone suddenly rang.

Damian sent a location: the woods in the northwest corner of the back mountain of Haicheng Manor, not far from the secret room they found in the warehouse.

Vital signs are normal.

Kurosawa Shiran tilted her head and thought for a moment, then stood up. "I'll give you a chance to kill her."

The secret passageway in the warehouse was extremely narrow, less than an arm's width wide.

As Natsume Rina walked down the stairs, she saw an iron gate. The gate was unlocked, presumably to lure her in.

Taking any opportunity to bite is one of her finest virtues, so she simply pushed open the door and went inside.

Then it was discovered that Hideo Kawashima had decorated this place to be no different from a five-star hotel.

The walls were adorned with simple artwork, and an old record player played soothing jazz, but it sounded utterly uninteresting.

Rina Natsume looked around to make sure nothing had happened, then stepped on the carpet and searched each room.

She did not see Kawashima Kazuha.

But the wardrobe is filled with expensive clothes in bright, flamboyant colors, along with jewelry and cosmetics...

Without a doubt, Kawashima Kazuha is Yuriko; these things perfectly match her aesthetic.

When they first met, Yuriko stepped out of the driver's seat of a white Maserati. She was wearing a sexy red dress adorned with sparkling gemstones, looking beautiful and sophisticated.

Natsume Rina snapped out of her thoughts, put on surgical gloves, and disassembled the paper shredder under her desk.

Granular paper shredder, medium security level.

She is highly sensitive to experimental data, so she could tell at a glance that this was a study on the RO value of some kind of biological virus.

They are still conducting those dangerous experiments.

But she clearly destroyed all the experimental results when she left.

Rina Natsume crouched down and glanced at her phone; the signal was already blocked.

She took out a small notebook and a pen from her jacket pocket and recorded the pieced-together experimental data.

About ten minutes later.

Rina Natsume went to the bathroom and discovered a narrow, dark passage under a tile.

Upon opening the door, a musty, damp smell wafted out, mixed with a faint earthy odor.

Rina Natsume let out a long sigh of relief and jumped off.

The tunnel has been dug out for several years. Dark green moss grows in the crevices of the rocks, and you can occasionally hear the sound of water dripping. You will slip and fall after walking a few steps.

It took about half an hour to walk.

After passing through a dark and long passageway, she arrived at a laboratory filled with various sophisticated instruments.

Under the incandescent light, the workbench gleamed with a cold metallic sheen. Beakers and test tubes were neatly arranged on the surface, and various strange liquids were contained in transparent glassware.

A hellish feeling, both familiar and strange, almost shattered her sanity, dragging her into a terrifying abyss.

Rina Natsume froze on the spot, breaking out in a cold sweat, her fists clenched tightly.

"It's been a long time." Yuriko sat on the counter, her long dress cinching her waist and hips, outlining the soft curves of her figure. She then handed her a pack of cigarettes. "Want one?"

Her movements carried a touch of nonchalant charm.

Rina Natsume looked up at her.

"Rina, to be honest, I was really heartbroken when you left the team. I could have given you everything you wanted: wealth, freedom, and spiritual fulfillment." Yuriko leaned forward, her smile incredibly gentle. "Will you come back?"
