Chapter 22
"You kissed him." Yui repeated her words, her eyes filled with jealousy and resentment.
Kurosawa Shiranui's face didn't show any special expression, he just raised an eyebrow and stared at Rina's face, seemingly observing her expression.
However, even if it was a joke, this was still going too far.
Masako put down her wine glass and said in a deep voice, "Yui, what exactly are you doing?"
"Why not?" Yui stood up agitatedly, her eyes red-rimmed. "It's just a game, why can't you do it?"
Rina had a stomachache from drinking a cold drink and didn't feel like talking.
Kirihara Nobunaga frowned. "Yui, you've had too much to drink."
"I didn't! I'm perfectly sober, Rina! You're just feeling guilty, otherwise why didn't you kiss him?!" Yui had completely lost her temper and was yelling at her recklessly.
Naoki's face darkened, and he tried his best to suppress the embarrassment on his face. He stepped forward and grabbed her wrist. "I'm very sorry, I'll take her back to her room first!"
"I don't want to go back! Why are you hiding me?" Yui broke free from his grasp. "I'm your wife! Why can't I be seen by others?"
Naoki said sternly, "Yui, stop fooling around!"
"I'm being unreasonable?" Yui suddenly laughed strangely. "The love I thought I had gave me no peace of mind. You betrayed me first, you wronged me first, you wronged me! Why am I being unreasonable? Since you liked Rina and were with her for so long, why did you agree to date me?"
Hearing this, Kirihara Nobunaga looked at Naoki with sympathy but said nothing.
She was indeed drunk.
Naoki was furious and couldn't suppress his anger. He showed an extremely disgusted expression and said, "I've already explained this to you. Don't bring it up again!"
"So, you're just going to pretend nothing happened after the explanation?" Yui collapsed to the ground, her strength gone, covering her face and sobbing. "Naoki, you said you'd always be by my side, I thought you loved me..."
My thoughts have been in turmoil lately, and coupled with being drunk, my body is indeed very weak.
Everyone waited until she had vented her emotions.
Masako then helped her back to her room and gently whispered a few words of comfort.
Naoki, feeling dizzy and disoriented, sat on the sofa, took a deep drag on his cigarette, and swallowed it. "Sorry, I spoiled your fun."
With things having come to this point, the class reunion is pretty much over.
Rina followed the maid to the guest room.
Arisu Kazumi stood at the door, seemingly a little excited and uneasy. She glanced around and asked unhappily, "Why are you here?"
There was a lot of noise in the living room; she had already woken up.
Rina said, "Let's go back."
Arisu Kazumi: "What about the case?"
Rina: "What case?"
“It’s him…” Arisu Kazumi was about to say it when she saw the maid staring at her, so she shut her mouth.
After a while, Rina said goodbye to everyone and left the gallery.
Just then, Masako came out and called to Rina, saying she had something to talk about.
Suddenly, only Kurosawa Toki and Arisu Kazumi were left in the car, staring at each other blankly.
The other person's unbridled sneer and arrogant gaze made her very unhappy.
Arisu Kazumi said sharply, "How long are you going to keep bothering her?"
Kurosawa Shiran: "What's it to you?"
“No,” Arisu Kazumi rolled her eyes at him, then added, “I don’t care about her.”
"Is that so?" Kurosawa Shiran casually tugged at her collar, her tone a little annoyed. "But I find you very annoying."
Before Arisu Kazumi could even speak, there were two knocks on the car window.
It was Rina's warning.
Kurosawa Shiran lay on the steering wheel, looking at her with pleading eyes, a pitiful and aggrieved expression on her face.
Arisu Kazumi: ".........."
People with two faces are disgusting.
Masako was deeply moved by what had just happened and thought about it for a long time, so she decided to ask her again, "Rina, if you found out that your beloved husband was cheating on you after you got married, what would you do?"
The two people in the car perked up their ears.
Rina thought for a moment, then said uncertainly, "Divorce?"
Masako: "What if the other party shows remorse, and you are also willing to repair the marriage?"
Rina considered herself modestly for a moment, then forced a smile. "Well... it depends on the individual. Different desires lead to different choices."
Masako asked curiously, "And you?"
Rina: "My boyfriend loves me very much and wouldn't make such a fundamental mistake."
“Love makes people blindly confident. It’s like the patterns on ice and snow in winter. With just a breath of warm air, it disappears without a trace in the palm of your hand. If you dream of and miss a man who has forgotten his true feelings, it’s a tragedy,” Masako paused, then changed the subject, “But I think the same way you do. We are just ordinary people, and my man will love me very much.”
Kirihara Nobunaga strode over, suddenly cupped Masako's cheeks, and the two exchanged a kiss.
Rina: "......"
Arisu Kazumi: "......"
Kurosawa Shiran: "..."
This was such an unexpected dose of PDA.
“We’re getting married next month,” Masako said with a smug grin. “I’d like you to be my bridesmaid.”
Rina remained expressionless, but her tone was firm as she said, "I refuse."
“Oh, that’s a real shame. When choosing bridesmaids, Masako thought of you first,” Kirihara Nobunaga said affectionately, his eyes genuinely brimming with happiness. “We were even thinking of giving you a big red envelope so you could share in the joy.”
Rina got back into the car and rolled down the window. "Remember to send red envelopes when you send out the invitations."
After a moment's thought, Kurosawa Shiran stopped himself, started the car, then thought for a moment, turned to look at the passenger seat, his eyes momentarily dazed.
He said, "Sister, why didn't you kiss me just now?"
His tone of voice was completely different from when he spoke to Arisu Kazumi earlier.
Arisu Kazumi exclaimed in shock, "Are you a pervert?"
Rina leaned back in her seat, sighed silently, and said, "Drive."
His voice was light and weak, tinged with fatigue.
Kurosawa Tokiran unconsciously rubbed the steering wheel with his fingertips.
One minute later, the SUV left the gallery.
Arisu Kazumi thought for a moment and muttered, "Can kissing really bring two people closer together?"
“From a physiological perspective, when you kiss, your brain releases neurotransmitters such as dopamine, endorphins, and oxytocin,” Rina paused for a moment. “These things do indeed create a pleasurable experience for both people, leading to strong feelings of affection and dependence, and bringing them closer together.”
"Is it possible for one person to like two people at the same time?" Arisu Kazumi bit her lip. "It's like kissing two people at the same time."
Rina opened her eyes and looked up at the rearview mirror: "You mean Naoki cheated on me?"
Arisu Kazumi went through all that trouble, but she never expected that Kazumi would guess it.
She immediately lost her composure and muttered, "Pretty much."
Rina seemed lost in thought, as if she were absent-minded.
Arisu Kazumi said with dissatisfaction, "It was she who hired the detective agency to catch the mistress in the first place."
Rina frankly stated, "I have no intention of taking on this case."
"Why?" Arisu Kazumi stood up excitedly, but bumped her head with a thud and fell back onto the back seat, wincing in pain.
Rina: "Do you think Yui is someone you can communicate with?"
Arisu Kazumi insisted, "This is the first case I've ever handled!"
Its significance is extraordinary.
Lina said patiently, "I think you should go to school with your backpack."
In her opinion, the fourteen-year-old girl should face reality instead of following in her brother's footsteps.
Arisu Kazumi glared at her and said bluntly, "I already told you, I don't want to go to school! Nobody can control me, including you. I've known for a long time that you're a scoundrel. The first time my brother brought me to see you, you were standing outside the rooftop railing, like a calm madman."
Kurosawa Shiran was taken aback, her expression calm, but her eyes were unfathomable.
Rina reminded her, "Watch where you're going."
After that, there was no movement inside the car for quite some time.
Kurosawa Shiran was still pondering that sentence, but Rina clearly didn't want to mention it.
After hesitating for a moment, he tried to make his voice sound calm as he asked, "Sister, am I now a cleaner at the detective agency?"
Rina: "It's fine."
Having made up her mind, Arisu Kazumi started shouting from behind again, "I want to investigate the case!"
Teenagers are like this; when they encounter something, their emotions fluctuate greatly, and they may become sensitive and easily agitated.
Lina sometimes felt like a mother hen. "Here's what we'll do. I'll give you five days to solve the case. If you can't find the person, you'll either have to go back to school or be sent back to London to find your father."
Kazumi Arisu gets a headache just thinking about her old-fashioned father who wants her to be a lady, and he'll burn all her short skirts.
They criticized everything about her.
She would absolutely not go back. "What if we find it?"
Rina sighed softly, "You can say whatever you want."
Kurosawa Shiranai parked the car at the entrance, his blue eyes fixed on her: "What about me?"
Arisu Kazumi, who was looking delighted, immediately became a little disgusted upon hearing this: "What are you getting involved in?"
As she spoke, she excitedly ran off the car.
Moonlight streamed in, casting a dim glow inside the car.
Kurosawa Shiran grabbed Rina's wrist. "If I find that person, can you grant me one request, sister?"
Upon hearing this, Rina's lips curled up slightly, revealing a cryptic smile. "Okay, but you have to be before her."
For some reason, Kurosawa Shiran's calm mind gradually became excited because of this smile.
He didn't hear what Rina was saying at all; his hands were uncontrollably kneading the soft, white skin on her wrist.
He blinked his thick eyelashes, his voice slightly hoarse, "Sister, you must take responsibility for what you say."
