Chapter 28
The pain in her arm was unbearable, so Rina went to the pharmacy next door and bought a box of painkillers.
After paying, Kurosawa Shiran took the shopping bag, quietly hid the contents of her pockets, and slowly walked down the steps.
"Sister, are you taking random medicine again?"
They even wore protective gear; are they afraid of Shimono Gen?
Across from the supermarket, Rina was leisurely sitting on a bench, biting into an apple. When she saw him, she patted the seat next to her, gesturing for him to sit down.
Kurosawa Shiran's eyes lit up, and he not only sat down but also clung to her even more.
Rina took a bite of the apple, somewhat surprised.
She seemed to see a tail constantly sweeping behind the boy.
Passersby couldn't help but stare at them.
Kurosawa Shiran didn't take it seriously. He stared at the red marks on Rina's neck, then quietly moved closer and leaned on her shoulder.
He was testing Rina's reaction.
Inside the car, she didn't respond to the kiss, but she didn't show much resistance either.
If this continues, there will be further developments.
Will she scold or indulge?
Rina was still eating that apple.
Kurosawa Shiran tilted her head back, her high, straight nose gently brushing against that small patch of soft skin. "Sister, I heard from Damian that you've forgotten some things?"
A deep, alluring voice entered my ears.
Rina's eyelashes trembled slightly, and she nudged him with her shoulder. "No."
Kurosawa Shiran's eyes crinkled into a smile. "So, did you recognize me the first time you met me, sister?"
Rina gave a perfunctory "hmm".
Liar, liar.
Kurosawa Shiran didn't believe her lie at all. "I've lived with my sister for so long, and she's actually forgotten me."
Rina's slightly nasal voice rose slightly with a hint of doubt: "Not long, right? Just a few days?"
Didn't he suffer from amnesia?
Kurosawa Shiran sat up straight, staring intently into her eyes. "A few days?"
Rina: "What's wrong?"
"It's nothing." Kurosawa Shiran reacted for a moment, concealing the sadness in her eyes, and smiled gently, "It's only been a few days, but I've been thinking about my sister for many years."
Lina recalled the crazed, bloodthirsty eyes in the bar and reminded her, "It's resentment, isn't it?"
"No, that's not true," Kurosawa Shiran denied.
Rina smiled, leaned back in her chair, and looked at the crowd opposite her without saying anything more.
It's rush hour now, and the convenience store counter is packed with people. The staff has been busy for almost half an hour.
However, after the customer left, she did not sit down to rest, but instead took off her apron and went to the phone booth.
She was a slender girl with fair skin and light yellow hair.
She sat by the telephone, biting her lip, pressing the receiver tightly to her ear, waiting for the call to connect.
About half a minute later, the girl began to speak, her face flushed with a blush and an innocent joy, sometimes even gesturing wildly.
She is a girl who is in love.
Rina looked at her with interest, but suddenly, a delicate face blocked her view.
"Sister, look at me," Kurosawa Shiran leaned closer again, her lazy voice rising slightly at the end, "I like it when you look at me."
Rina raised her hand and pressed it against his face, pushing him away without any mercy. "There should still be someone anxiously waiting by the phone."
Kurosawa Shiran smiled. "Who is it?"
Rina stood up, her eyelids twitching as she looked at his bulging coat pockets. She was about to speak.
"Rina!" Kirihara Nobunaga ran over from across the street, panting.
Needless to say, Rina had already guessed his intentions.
Kirihara Nobunaga stood in front of her and said in as calm a tone as possible, "Let's talk."
Rina: "How did you find your way here?"
Kirihara Nobunaga said, "This is not the place to talk."
The three of them went together to a black car.
Kirihara Nobunaga took the briefcase from the driver and handed her a stack of documents.
Rina was still shaken by what had happened two hours earlier.
She didn't get in, but leaned against the car, took off the glasses she had just put on, carefully wiped the lenses, and then put them back on.
These were all documents detailing Naoki Kimura's company operations. She glanced at them quickly and put the documents back.
"I've seen it," she said casually.
The culprit next to him blinked and moved closer silently.
Kirihara Nobunaga took a deep breath: "I don't know how to prove Masako's innocence. I can only think of finding more information about this place, about who runs it, its financial situation..."
Rina's thoughts paused for a moment, "Does Masako spend a lot of time with Yui on weekdays?"
“We don’t have much contact. Everyone is very busy with work. Masako only goes shopping and swimming with Yui and the others occasionally…” Kirihara Nobunaga said.
Rina: "Is there anything unusual?"
Kirihara Nobunaga thought for a moment, "No, Masako is always in a pretty good mood when she comes back."
Rina's eyes crinkled into a smile. "I meant Yui. Did Masako mention anything?"
Kirihara Nobunaga wiped his face hard, tugged at the corners of his mouth, and tried to control his emotions. "Yui mentioned Kimura's affair to her, but Masako didn't tell me anything in detail."
“Hmm,” Rina said, “she really should tell you something in detail.”
At this point, Kirihara Nobunaga wearily closed his eyes. "I'm not a good lover. I rarely make time to talk to her about everyday things, and I often neglect her feelings..."
Rina stared at him, somewhat puzzled. "So, what exactly does Masako see in you?"
Kurosawa Shiran: "........"
Kirihara Nobunaga froze, a lump forming in his throat. "What?"
Rina: "Besides your dad, you don't seem to have any redeeming qualities. Are you two in a marriage of convenience?"
Kurosawa Shiran tilted her head and thought for a moment, "Sister, what is a marriage of convenience?"
“Masako and I are true love,” Kirihara Nobunaga said, a bitter feeling spreading through his chest, his voice trembling with tears. “She definitely loves me. Many things in our lives are memories that Masako and I share. Her love for me is hidden in the details. And she’s so cute, she definitely wouldn’t dislike me.”
When he said this, his tone was full of admiration and longing, like a lovesick fool.
Rina turned off the recording on her phone and remained silent, seemingly considering her words.
In Kirihara Nobunaga's eyes, this scene was a blatant act of questioning.
He said angrily, "If you don't believe me, ask your boyfriend. He'll definitely think you're cute too!"
Kurosawa Shiran's eyes lit up, her gaze softening considerably. "Sister is indeed very cute, especially when she's eating my food..."
Rina nudged him with her elbow, feeling somewhat relieved that she had turned off the recording.
She continued, "Does Masako enjoy mountain climbing, or perhaps growing flowers?"
From the police questioning, she learned that Yui and Masako had gone hiking together.
“No, she doesn’t like mountain climbing. As for gardening, she only has two cacti at home,” Kirihara Nobunaga thought for a moment and then added, “By the way, Kimura met Ishikawa Ryoko because of mountain climbing.”
A strange look flashed across Rina's face. "Mountain climbing?"
Ryoko Ishikawa has lung disease. Is she playing with her life?
No, she couldn't possibly be climbing a mountain.
"I'm going home." Rina thought of something, turned around and left.
Kirihara Nobunaga stood there, stunned.
Back at the residence.
Shimono Gen was furious when he saw that bastard clinging to Rina.
There's definitely a conspiracy behind Rina's presence, but it hasn't been revealed yet.
He observed the person discreetly.
After Kurosawa Shiran finished preparing dinner, she took it upstairs.
Damian conscientiously went to the kitchen and ladled out the remaining curry rice. "Boss, dinner's ready."
That scoundrel actually cooked their meal in order to maintain his facade of goodness.
Shimono Gen looked troubled: "Does Rina have a special feeling for that bad seed?"
“I guess so. Apart from the people in the detective agency, he’s the only one who gets close to Rina,” Damian said, tasting the freshly cooked curry. “I think he’s doing quite well here.”
Shimono Gen: "You were won over with just a plate of curry?"
Damian shrugged and said in a comforting tone, as if having a casual conversation, "You can't stop lovers from falling in love."
Genichi Shimono bluntly stated, "You've just had enough takeout."
Damian narrowed his eyes, held up five fingers, and gave a mysterious smile. "Fifty thousand dollars. I bet you, with my extensive online dating experience, that they'll be together."
Gen Shimono: "If you're heartbroken for 300 out of 365 days a year, it's definitely worth taking a gamble."
“Bank transfer only.” Damian snapped his fingers and continued eating.
Orchids prefer fertile soil but cannot tolerate concentrated fertilizer, and their nutrient requirements are quite specific, with nitrogen fertilizer being the primary focus during their growing season.
When Rina returned, she went to the flower shop and compared the fertilizer she bought with the fertilizer that Yui brought.
Kurosawa Shiran leaned against the edge of the table, her eyes slightly narrowed. "Sister, come and have dinner."
Lina took the soil out of the flowerpot, then adjusted the microscope, ignoring him.
Kurosawa Shiran walked over to Rina and casually put the unsightly white bearded dragon into its cage.
Then, taking advantage of Rina putting down the experimental equipment in her hands, she bent down and picked her up, saying in a coaxing tone, "The food won't taste good if it gets cold, so please understand my feelings, sister."
Rina was startled and instinctively put her arm around his shoulder.
Kurosawa Shiran hadn't expected her to hug her. She swallowed hard a few times and carried her directly to the dining table.
Even if they seem obedient on the surface, they still have their own little schemes.
"Sister, shouldn't you reward me?"
Rina pressed one hand against his chest, trying to push him away, her fingertips even turning white from the force. But through the fabric, she could feel his rapid heartbeat and surging heat, which sent a slight shiver down her spine.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Kurosawa Shiran didn't give her a chance to react and squeezed between her legs, closing the distance between them.
Rina pressed her forehead against his, her feelings a mix of emotions.
...Things didn't seem to be under her complete control as she had thought.
He is not controllable.
"Sister," Kurosawa Shiran held those hands firmly, her voice low and sexy, carrying a hidden desire and probing, "May I eat you?"
“You’re really bothering me,” Rina said, clutching his clothes and pressing her face close to his cheek. Her delicate, gentle face revealed an almost icy smile, clearly indicating that she was a little angry.
“Little brother, you’re not very obedient,” she said.
Kurosawa Shiran's eyebrows and eyes gained a touch of vibrancy, and his Adam's apple bobbed uncontrollably.
“Sister…” He tilted his head back slightly, biting her earlobe, revealing her beautifully shaped neck and Adam’s apple, as malice and lust grew wildly in his mind.
One hand had already slipped inside her clothes, caressing her soft waist.
Rina narrowed her eyes.
Suddenly, without warning, there was a click.
A tempting blush appeared on the tips of Kurosawa Shiran's ears, and she was stunned for a full thirty seconds before she reacted.
But both wrists were already handcuffed.
He took a step back, blinked slowly, and looked somewhat uncertain and bewildered.
Rina looked at him expressionlessly.
Kurosawa Shiran looked at her with teary, pleading eyes, desperately suppressing the desire surging within her. "Sister... you were the one who seduced me first... please, sister."
Rina licked her lips and gave a mischievous smile.
Then, he stood alone outside the door.
Damian passed by, noticed the handcuffs on his wrists, and clicked his tongue. "This is terrible. Weren't you here to deliver food?"
Kurosawa Shiran: "..."
