Chapter 6

Chapter 6

Hoshino started walking alongside Rina, asking curiously, "Sister, what are you talking about?"

"It's nothing." Rina hung up the phone, opened the email sent by Sato, and quickly finished reading it.

The above are all cases committed by Kurosawa Shiran overseas, more than thirty in total, making him a rather dangerous person.

However, judging from the identities of the victims in the case, Kurosawa Shiran killed more mercenaries and some heinous criminals.

The methods used to kill were extremely cruel.

Furthermore, the wounds on the deceased's body indicate that this person was not only proficient in various weapons, but also had a place in the fields of karate and kendo.

Based on the information above, Kurosawa Tokiran should be a professional killing machine.

Hoshino stroked his chin, then suddenly felt something was off when he saw his own name. "Is my sister really interested in him?"

"I'm only interested in dead people." Rina looked up and met his gaze for a few seconds before turning her eyes back to continue processing messages.

She was completely unaware that the person next to her was secretly staring at her.

In just a few days, she had received a lot of emails and messages, including requests and greetings, as well as information about the members of the Thirty Days Society.

However, most of this information is superficial and almost useless.

"Hmm..." Kurosawa Shiran leaned closer, "Why?"

Rina coughed again, and this time it was a really bad cough, so she couldn't hear what he was saying at all.

The temperature difference between day and night on the mountain is significant, and she was wearing a light-colored dress, which made it easy for her to catch a cold.

Kurosawa Shiran stood to the side and watched as she took a small white medicine bottle out of her pocket, poured out two red pills, and then put them in her mouth... and chewed them.

He pointed out incisively, "Sister, do you only remember to take your medicine when you have an attack?"

Rina coughed violently, her bangs were covered in a thin layer of sweat, and her face was visibly paler.

Kurosawa Shiran's expression softened slightly, and she kindly took her arm, noticing that her entire hand was trembling.

This is weakness seeping from the bones.

He thought he was quite ill.

"I don't like being touched." Rina pulled her hand away and continued walking forward.

As rumored, she does indeed possess a certain aloofness that keeps strangers at bay.

Kurosawa Shiran squeezed her fingers, a trace of sickly warmth remaining on her fingertips, and it felt as if time had suddenly stood still.

He chased after her again, paused for a moment, seemingly puzzled, and asked, "Sister, if I go back with you like this, won't it cause some unnecessary misunderstandings?"

“That’s true,” Rina said, brushing aside her tangled hair with a hint of impatience. “Go climb out the window and avoid those people.”

Kurosawa Shiran paused, then finally sighed, "But sister, I'm injured."

"So, if you want your wound to get infected, go back to your chicken coop." Rina's expression remained calm, and then, because she wasn't watching where she was going, she bumped into the maid at the corner of the corridor.

"Madam!" The maid nearly fell over, crying out in a panic.

Rina also took a few steps back, stumbled, and crashed hard into Kurosawa Shiran's chest.

What's wrong with her today?

Is it Mercury retrograde?

The commotion in the corridor quickly attracted a lot of people.

Upon seeing this, Kawashima Makoto's face turned ashen, and she shouted without restraint, "Natsume, how dare you openly seduce a man!"

As soon as these words were spoken, everyone's attention turned to the two of them.

Sato was nearby and rushed over as soon as he heard the commotion.

If it were the old Rina Natsume, she might have already started to mock and ridicule people by now, but unfortunately, she is too weak at this moment, and just standing here is a challenge.

However, she still said, "Ms. Makoto, people with heart conditions see everything as dirty. Not everyone is like you, soaking in a hot spring with a group of men an hour ago."

Kurosawa Shiran: "........."

Junji Sato: "......"

Is it that exciting?

"You're talking nonsense!" In front of everyone, being told such a thing made Kawashima Makoto furious and embarrassed, she lost control of herself and rushed over to hit someone.

He stepped in front of Rina just in time, his expression cold and his eyes full of warning, "Ms. Makoto, watch your words and actions."

"Who do you think you are?" Kawashima Makoto had lost her temper and just wanted to vent her anger on someone. "Don't get in my way. Don't think that just because you're a cop I won't dare to touch you!"

“Biting bugs are everywhere, but they’re easy to crush.” Rina straightened her skirt and looked at her with disdain. “You can call your brother right now and tell him I bullied you.”

"Natsume Kanon, I think you've gone mad!" Kawashima Makoto had never suffered such an insult before, and her anger flared up instantly. "My brother has been blinded by a scheming woman like you. You pretend to be gentle and virtuous all the time, but in reality you're a bastard!"

Rina sneered and was about to speak when she was pulled to a tea room by the police officers.

"Sister, please don't get angry with her. Your health is the most important thing." Kurosawa Shiran poured her a glass of warm water and handed it to her with both hands.

Rina raised an eyebrow. "Coffee, with sugar and milk."

"Okay." Kurosawa Shiran turned around neatly and swiftly, rummaging through several cabinets before finally finding the brown sugar and milk.

Finally, relying on intuition, I added ingredients to the coffee.

After a long while, he handed her the porcelain cup.

Rina took it, smelled it, took a small sip, and thought it tasted good.

Seeing that she had calmed down, the police officer said in a low voice, "Madam, Officer Sato investigated a suicide case from fifteen years ago. The deceased was named Yuriko. She lost both her parents when she was young. When she was eight years old, she was sold to a red-light district from a poor rural area in Kyushu by human traffickers. Later, for some unknown reason, she was taken to a villa by Hideo Kawashima and was never heard from again."

"Yuriko," Rina put down her porcelain cup, "has the murderer who killed Myoko been caught?"

The officer looked troubled: "Well... Officer Sato checked all the maids' bodies as instructed by the madam and did find two maids who had been scratched by rose thorns, but they had accidentally fallen into the flower bushes while playing around."

Rina sighed, her feelings at that moment were truly indescribable. When she saw Sato walk in, she clicked her tongue.

Sato looked at Kurosawa Shiran, hesitated for a few seconds, then sat down next to Rina and took out the photos of the two maids. "The wounds on these two were from the morning after the incident. It can be said that the murderer has extremely strong mental fortitude."

“Even the most ingenious plans have flaws,” Rina stood up, a slight smile playing on her lips. “The person who retrieved the items in the woods was an extremely meticulous individual who left no trace. But the flowerbed where they were hiding was trampled beyond recognition, clearly indicating that there were two of them. You say they have exceptional mental fortitude, but in my opinion, it was nothing more than a last-ditch effort. Miss Junichi, whatever the reason, murder always comes at a price.”

Junichi Takahashi walked in carrying a cup of tea. Upon hearing this, the tray slipped from his hands, and the teapot shattered. "What, what did you say?"

Rina rubbed her forehead. "I'm saying, you're the one who killed Aoki Myoko."

The air fell silent instantly. The people in the tea room stared in astonishment, while Kurosawa Shiran seemed like an outsider, completely unconcerned about the development of the case and the real culprit.

He glanced coldly at Junichi Takahashi before quickly looking away, his gaze settling on the porcelain cup that Rina had drunk from.

I only took a tiny sip; I probably didn't like it at all...

Jun Takahashi opened his mouth, feeling as if his heart was about to stop beating, his eyes filled with fear.

After a long silence, he finally spoke up to defend himself, "You're talking nonsense! I was clearly sleeping in my dorm when the incident happened. How could I have run out to kill someone!"

“It was indeed a clever deception, but you made a lot of mistakes,” Rina smiled. “Before committing the crime, you broke the dormitory lights. In the dim and chaotic situation, everyone ran out to check the situation. Who would notice that you, who lived on the top bunk, were not there at all? At that time, you could have easily run out of the bushes and blended in with everyone, pretending to be at a loss.”

Junichi Takahashi shouted, "This is all just your wild guesses!"

Rina coughed, her smile exceptionally bright: "Then how do you explain the injuries on your arms and legs?"

“I told you, I was joking around with Akiko Hayata and I accidentally fell,” Junichi Takahashi said excitedly, his emotions running wildly. “We both have these wounds on us, so why do you suspect me of being the murderer?”

Rina subtly shifted her gaze to Sato: "Officer Sato, during your questioning, did you mention that the murderer had injuries?"

How could this be? Who would reveal the details of the case to the suspect? Sato suddenly felt a surge of anger, and he even brandished his handcuffs.

"That's just my guess, my guess!" Junichi Takahashi's face contorted with rage as he stammered, "I didn't kill her! You have no evidence! I didn't kill her!"

"Before the incident, you set up the traps in advance, placing the puppet in the corner. After successfully killing Aoki Miko, you took off your blood-stained clothes and hid them on the puppet. Then you hid in the flower bushes next to the dormitory, let out a scream, and attracted the first eyewitness. Just as she ran over, you pulled the rope and made the puppet fly over the high wall to attract her attention. Finally, you took this opportunity to pretend that you had just run out of the dormitory." Rina recounted the case without any emotion. "Ghost killings are indeed terrifying. You told them so many ghost stories to lay the groundwork for the day of the incident. But when everyone ran out of the dormitory, they were all afraid of seeing the terrifying scene outside, so they subconsciously huddled together. You could only stand on the very edge. At that time, you were the one standing on the far left, closest to the flower bushes. As for Sanae, who fell into the flower bushes with you, she happened to be standing in the very middle."

"You're mistaken. I'm the one standing in the very center! I am!" Junichi Takahashi felt a chill creep up his spine. He spoke defiantly, but he was completely panicked.

Rina's tone remained unchanged: "Later, the police can question the other people."

"Ha...hahaha!" Takahashi Junichi knelt on the ground and burst into inexplicable laughter. "She deserves to die! She's a woman without chastity! She shamelessly had relations with a man without being married! She deserves to die! She doesn't deserve to be with Mr. Takase! You don't deserve to be with the chairman either! You're also a woman without chastity! You're both utterly wicked and deserve to go to hell! Did you think this show would end here tonight?"

Rina frowned slightly. "What do you mean?"

"You will also suffer because of your infidelity..." Junichi Takahashi gradually stopped crying, looking at her with tears in his eyes, but the hatred in his eyes burned like a raging fire.

Seeing that something was wrong, Sato rushed forward, grabbed her chin, and pried the medicine pouch out of her mouth.

However, the medicine pouch was already somewhat damaged, and Junichi Takahashi's body began to convulse.

The scene descended into chaos for a moment. Kurosawa Shiran took a carton of milk and handed it to Sato.

Milk can alleviate some of the toxins to a certain extent and can indeed be used as an emergency treatment.

Moreover, at this point, Sato had no time to hesitate and immediately forced Takahashi Junichi to drink it.

About ten minutes later, the ambulance arrived at the scene.

Sato quickly washed off the milk, and seeing Rina examining the medicine pouch, he put it away. "What were you thinking about what you just said?"

Rina: "I came here precisely to investigate this matter."

Sato sighed and hesitated before saying, "I have a feeling you're solving this case just to get me out of there."

Rina smiled but didn't say anything, her expression calm, as if nothing had happened.

"Remember to call me if anything happens." Sato patted her on the shoulder and left the tea room.

Kurosawa Shiran, who had been hiding somewhere, suddenly poked her head out, holding a newspaper in her hand. "Sister, are you Natsume Rina?"

Rina took the newspaper from his hand, noticed the words "second-rate detective" on it, and threw it into the trash can without hesitation. "Come back to the room with me."

Kurosawa Shiran was slightly startled.

Afterwards, the two returned to their room. Rina took a first-aid kit from the bookshelf and then went to the bathroom to wash her hands.

A damp drizzle began to fall outside the window. Kurosawa Shiran sat on the sofa, propping his chin up and surveying his surroundings.

Seeing her come out, her face regained its vitality. "Sister, you can bandage wounds?"

Rina took out a pair of transparent gloves from the medicine box and put them on, then took out disinfectant alcohol and gauze.

“No, but I have studied cadaver dissection.” She said this with a meaningful look in her eyes.

Kurosawa Shiran was startled and stammered, "Sister... I'm not a corpse."

"I know." Rina cut open the blood-stained sleeve without changing her expression, wiped the wound with an alcohol swab, and then gave him a vaccine injection.

The windows of the barn were all sealed off, so no sunlight could get in all year round. The wooden floor was damp and dark, and it was a breeding ground for rats and bacteria.

Kurosawa Shiran watched her actions, struggled internally for a few seconds, wondering whether she should act cute, but ultimately remained silent.

However, before the bandaging was finished, the phone suddenly rang a few times. Rina threw the gauze at him and said coldly, "Do it yourself."

After saying that, he turned around, threw off his gloves, and picked up his phone from the dining table.

"Sister..." Kurosawa Shiran looked sorrowful, leaning against the sofa as if she were weak and helpless. "Sister, my wound hurts a lot. Am I pitiful?"

Rina ignored him, sent an email, and then went out to make a phone call.

When she returned, Kurosawa Shiran had already bandaged her wound and packed up the first-aid kit.

"Why are you still here?" Rina casually picked up the newspaper on the table, sat down on another sofa, and habitually crossed her legs.

Kurosawa Shiran sighed in frustration, but still gave her a smile, putting on an innocent expression, "I want to say goodbye to my sister before I leave."

"Then you can go." Rina casually turned a page of the newspaper.

Kurosawa Shiran noticed a photo had fallen out of the newspaper and bent down to pick it up for her.

Upon seeing the contents of the photo, his expression suddenly became extremely terrifying, and a frightening aura began to emanate from him.

Suddenly, an indescribable sense of terror enveloped them. Rina immediately sensed it and closed the newspaper. "What are you looking at?"

Upon hearing this, Kurosawa Shiran raised his head, his expression unusually calm, but a violent killing intent surged within him, and the bulging veins on his arms appeared particularly ferocious.

Whether it was her imagination or not, Rina had a feeling of being watched by a wild beast. Then she got the photo and froze.
