Chapter 61

Chapter 61

Kurosawa Shiran has a sleeping habit. He seems unaware of how heavy he is at 1.9 meters tall. Every time he sleeps, half of his body has to be on Rina. When he wants to be cute, he pounces on her. If he loses his balance, he can fall two miles away.

Of course, he couldn't just lie there like that. Half an hour later, Rina was sitting up against the headboard, one of her legs had gone numb. "You're really heavy."

Kurosawa Shiran wrapped one arm around Rina's waist, her fingers twirling around her soft black hair. "Then I'll lose weight."

Rina tried adjusting her posture, rubbing the fluffy head, and felt a strange pang of sadness as she looked after the child. "Then it's not necessary. He's just tall, but he looks quite thin."

Kurosawa Shiran revealed half of her face, stared at Rina for a while, her eyebrows curved, and the corners of her mouth curled up: "Sister, you only like me, right?"

She kept asking the same question, and Rina always answered patiently, but this time she just hummed in response, which was rather perfunctory.

As Kurosawa Shiran stood up, he kissed her on the forehead, a faint smile on his lips, his beautiful thin lips opening and closing: "It's alright, even if you fall in love with someone else in the future, I won't dare to do anything to you."

Rina hissed and was forced to sit up and lie on the pillow.

If that were the case, what a scene it would be! Just imagining it sent chills down her spine.

Kurosawa Toki lovingly kissed Rina's eye. Seeing that she didn't push him away, he pressed his cheek against her skin, then lowered his head to find her lips, kissing them gently but not deeply.

Rina, her eyes half-closed in a daze, was a little aroused by the ambiguous gesture. She gently patted Kurosawa Shiran's back and asked, "What time is it? Why aren't you asleep?"

The blow didn't hurt, so the excessively cautious restraint instantly turned into plunder.

The burning kisses traveled downwards, accompanied by rustling sounds as her nightgown was lifted up. Rina realized what he was about to do, and stepped on his shoulder. "If you don't behave, I'm moving out, understand?"

Kurosawa Shiran blinked, a faint blush rising on his fair face. His eyes were blatant and fiery, as if he wanted to devour her whole. He grabbed Rina's ankle and gently bit it. Just as he was about to pounce on her, Rina flipped him over and pinned him down.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Rina pressed down on his neck.

Kurosawa Shiran swallowed hard, her throat dry. "Sister..."

Rina raised an eyebrow nonchalantly: "Do you know that those men who were thrown into the lake did so because they didn't understand the saying 'lust is a knife above one's head'?"

Kurosawa Shiran stared intently at her: "You can do whatever you want to me, sister—"

Before he could finish speaking, Rina slapped him hard, making his palm hurt. "Go to sleep."

She got off Kurosawa Shiran and covered him with a blanket.

Kurosawa Shiran let out a muffled groan, and the five bright red finger marks on his arm made him much more obedient.

The next morning, the weather was gloomy and oppressive. Rina woke up after sleeping for less than three hours, while the little brat on her was fast asleep and didn't seem to notice her getting out of bed.

Lina glanced at the kitchen, considered for a moment, and decisively opened the refrigerator to take out a carton of fresh milk. After finishing breakfast, she tidied up briefly and then drove to the place called Lover's Lake.

The villa is just over an hour away from Lover's Lake.

Lina arrived at her destination just in time to miss the sunrise. However, the place was remote, and the air was filled with a pleasant, damp earthy scent. Breathing in such an environment felt like her lungs were being purified.

She pulled her hat down low and walked about a kilometer along the lake.

Just last night, Anna sent me a message saying that Professor Petsey had passed away three years ago, and that Hanazawa Yu did not attend his funeral that day.

Perhaps their separation wasn't dignified enough.

Rina crouched down, gazing at the calm lake surface, and a question slowly surfaced in her mind.

Why choose to throw it into this lake?

If Munakata discovers that the culprit escaped from the car, and that the culprit is indeed a woman, how did she manage to bring her back?

What does that single hair mean?

Rina stared blankly at the lake. She still had a lot of details she wanted to know, but time was running out.

Ten minutes later, she started walking back. When she got back to her car, Kurosawa Shiran called.

Rina started the car. Judging from the tone of her voice on the phone, she had just woken up. "What's up?"

Kurosawa Shiran lay on Rina's pillow, savoring its scent, and closed her eyes contentedly, muttering, "Why didn't you call me, sister?"

Rina leaned back in her chair, leaving the scene of the investigation, and said with a smile, "You seem to be sleeping quite well."

Kurosawa Shiran: "Because I dreamed about my sister."

Rina smiled: "Dreaming about me?"

“Yes, my older sister used to tutor me,” Kurosawa Shiran said, “and she would also check the books I was reading.”

Not only that, Rina replaced all the books on human anatomy on her bookshelf with cookbooks.

When he came home from school that day, he saw "Baking for Beginners: Zero-Failure Dessert Tutorial" and "Cooking Together with Your Child: 50 Delicious Dishes to Make with Your Kids" on the table. He was so angry that he gritted his teeth, but there was nothing he could do about it.

Fortunately, Rina would eat every dish he learned to make, even though she never participated in the cooking process, and would give feedback.

He enjoys cooking for Rina and never feels it's a waste of time. If he could also influence what she wears every day, that would be even better.

"Let's go get something to eat first," Rina said. "I'll call you later."

Kurosawa Toki said reluctantly, "Okay, but there's something I haven't told my sister yet."

Lina steered the car around the disabled vehicle in front of her. "You say it."

“Professor Petsey committed suicide by jumping into the lake,” Kurosawa Shiran paused for a moment, “The news was suppressed by his family at their expense and was not made public.”

Rina calmly replied, "Okay, I understand."

Kurosawa Shiran pressed on, "What about the reward?"

Rina couldn't help but chuckle: "I'll give it to you when I get back."

After hanging up the phone, she drove to the street where Munakata had last appeared.

The place was just across the street from the bar. Rina was standing in front of a noodle shop when she soon saw an advertisement for a beauty salon that had a back door on this street.

The walls were painted snow-white, and the doors were painted as well, almost blending into the walls.

Rina carefully inspected the wall panels, and finally took a long detour to reach the main entrance of the beauty salon.

The waiter stepped forward and gave her a slight bow. "Hello, ma'am, how can I help you?"

Rina: "Excuse me, has Ms. Hanazawa arrived yet? We had a facial treatment appointment together."

The waiter paused for a moment, thought for a second, and said, "Please wait here for a moment while I check the records."

Rina's expression remained unchanged. She nodded and sat down on the sofa next to her.

The waiter walked to the front desk, opened a booklet, and after confirming the information, couldn't help but frown.

She asked, "Madam, we don't have any plans for Ms. Hanazawa today. Could it be that we've made a mistake?"

Rina smiled politely, "Where is Ms. Fujiwara? There are three of us."

Without hesitation, the waiter said, "Ms. Fujiwara had made arrangements yesterday, but she didn't come, and we can't get in touch with her."

Rina asked, "Did she come here on the 26th?"

"She—" the waiter was about to speak.

Two police cars suddenly stopped at the entrance, and several police officers rushed in, blocked Rina's way, and drove away the waiter.

Nobuyuki Mochida walked over and gave him a meaningful smile. "Ms. Natsume, let's go to the police station together."

Rina raised an eyebrow. "You bunch of idiots are investigating a case and it's happening to me?"
