Chapter 315: Pointing the Way

Guo Changming raised his eyes and quickly glanced at the female officer standing in front of him with her arms propped up, and explained: "Yes, but we are just for--"

"Come over now, bring more people."

As soon as the other party finished speaking, before Guo Changming could respond, the call was hung up.

Guo Changming glanced at the lit screen of his mobile phone, then looked at the female officer and stood up from his seat. "Commander, I'll be there right away."

The female officer nodded, and her eyes swept across everyone in the conference room, finally locking onto the man in military uniform sitting in the fourth seat to her left. "Bo Ming, take a team with you and go with Chang Ming."

Yu Boming stood up, standing as straight and upright as he sat, and said, "Yes."

On the other side, Tu Ran, who was forced to end the call, looked at the black screen of his phone, cursed that the battery of his broken phone was consumed so quickly, and threw it into the garbage mountain in front of him, mixing with the other garbage.

The stench from the garbage dump was overwhelming. Tu Ran pinched her nose and looked at the rolling mountains of garbage in front of her.

There's all kinds of garbage in here, and it's summer now, so the smell is so sour.

Tu Ran rolled her eyes because of the smoke.

No one knew when the people from the Academy of Sciences would arrive. Tu Ran couldn't stand it anymore, so she took out the helmet that came with the Pioneer combat uniform from the space, put it on her head, turned on the air circulation inside, and the stench was blocked outside, and her mind felt refreshed in an instant.

Tu Ran walked around an empty space, looking around as he turned around.

Half an hour later, the sound of helicopters roaring was heard overhead. Tu Ran looked up and saw three helicopters hovering over the garbage dump, looking for a place to land.

The speed of arrival was faster than Tu Ran expected.

The helicopter selected a landing site and slowly descended. Tu Ran, who was standing below, silently turned on the sound shielding system of his helmet.

The hem of her sweatshirt was blown up by the strong wind brought by the propeller, and the scattered garbage on the ground was blown around, creating a clearing.

Three helicopters landed one after another, the cabins opened, and soldiers in combat uniforms quickly jumped out of the cabins and directly surrounded Tu Ran.

Tu Ran raised her eyebrows and looked towards the last helicopter without making any movement.

A well-dressed officer-level figure got off the last helicopter first. He stood at the cabin door, first glanced at the surroundings, and finally looked at Tu Ran.

He slowly walked down the stairs and walked towards Tu Ran.

Following closely behind him was Xiang Sheng, who had not been seen for a long time.

Xiang Sheng was anxiously looking for Tu Ran. When he saw Tu Ran standing surrounded by soldiers, he quickly ran down from the cabin, passed the man in military uniform, pounced on Tu Ran and hugged her.

Tu Ran was pushed back half a step by her sudden pounce before she managed to steady herself.

Why do so many people want to hug her when they see her now? !

Xiang Sheng's voice was very excited. He hugged Tu Ran tightly and refused to let go. The end of his voice was obviously trembling. "Sister Tu Ran, I finally see you. I couldn't contact you. I thought I was the only one back."

Tu Ran patted her back gently to calm her down, but his eyes looked through her shoulder at the two people standing behind her.

She had seen the man in the suit before, and the one who walked towards Sheng next was him.

She didn't recognize the man in military uniform.

Xiang Sheng knew that now was not the time to reminisce about the past, so he let go of Tu Ran, turned to look at the two men behind him, and silently walked to stand behind Tu Ran.

Tu Ran faced the two men head on.

Guo Changming spoke first and extended his hand towards Tu Ran, "Hello, my name is Guo Changming."

Tu Ran raised her hand and pressed the side edge of the helmet, took it off, clamped it on her left arm, stretched out her right hand and shook hands lightly with Guo Changming, "Tu Ran."

"Yu Boming." The man in military uniform also politely extended his hand to Tu Ran. "Tu Ran."

After separating his hands, Tu Ran read all their memories and got to know their positions, personalities, ways of doing things, as well as the progress of Blue Star's research on other worlds.

The two of them didn't realize that they had revealed everything.

Guo Changming looked around and saw nothing but mountains of garbage. "I wonder why Ms. Tu asked us to come here?"

"Come with me."

Tu Ran turned around, ignored the gun, and walked between two armed soldiers.

The crowd moved with her. Guo Changming approached Yu Boming and said something quickly. Yu Boming waved his hand, and the soldiers who had been surrounding Tu Ran lowered their guns and followed around her in a protective posture.

Tu Ran noticed it, but didn't care and stopped at the foot of the garbage mountain.

"Here," Tu Ran raised her hand and pointed to an empty space on the ground, "the door."

Guo Changming and Yu Boming took a step forward at the same time and stared in the direction Tu Ran pointed.

That place was no different from other places in the garbage dump, a rocky ground that had been barely leveled by a steamroller, except that there was less garbage than elsewhere. They couldn't see anything special.

But they still remember Xiang Sheng's description.

"Didn't they say that there was a space distortion phenomenon where the door appeared?" Guo Changming looked at Tu Ran.

Tu Ran lowered her head and used her toes to pull out a red plastic cover from the ground. "Look."

With that, she kicked the plastic cover toward the empty space she was pointing at.

The red plastic cover was spinning at high speed in the air and flying towards there. According to its trajectory, it was supposed to fall on the garbage mountain behind.

But it didn't, in mid-air, it suddenly disappeared.

In an instant, there was no trace.

This scene that only appears in science fiction movies actually appeared before their eyes, and everyone's heart stopped beating for a second.

Yu Boming, who had been silent all the time, bent down, picked up a stone from the ground and threw it into the open space.

He verified it himself.

The result was no doubt that the stone disappeared in mid-air again.

"We are lucky enough to have encountered a fixed door." Tu Ran looked at the door. Although she could not see it with her naked eyes, she could clearly feel the air flow.

"Could you explain it in detail?" Guo Changming pretended to listen attentively.

Tu Ran paused and said, "I can't stand the smell here." For the fifth time, she felt nauseous and wanted to vomit because of the stench of the garbage mountain.

Her sense of smell had always been more sensitive than that of an average person, and after gathering a lot of mental energy in the Harnden Galaxy, it seemed to have become even more sensitive.

Tu Ran took off the helmet on his left arm and put it on his head, "I'm wearing a helmet, don't mind me."

Guo Changming: “…It doesn’t matter.”

After putting on the helmet, Tu Ran took a few deep breaths of air and felt alive again.

"The Tech World is a federal country, consisting of forty-two states. So far, the Tech World has only had two fixed doors, one in their administrative center, and one in a remote state."

"The connection between the technological world and other worlds is through these two doors. They don't have random doors like our world that can appear anywhere. The fixed doors fix the location where creatures from other worlds enter the technological world. This means that if the technological world wants to prevent invasions from other worlds, it only needs to guard those two doors."
