Chapter 101 Saved Him Again

Yan Suizhi was anxious! She pushed him away and said anxiously, "Don't worry about me, go help her!"

Several more black-armored guards also arrived and joined the battle.

Without his horse, the assassin lost his advantage standing on the snow. He was even more shocked that the woman, who should have been weak and powerless, could possess such lethal swordsmanship and offensive courage. He was forced to retreat step by step by Xie Wanyun's long sword.

Xie Wanyun was dressed in white, with black hair and red lips, and his eyes were cold. As his robe fluttered, the sword flashed and had already slit the assassin's throat.

A dazzling bright red, blood gushed out into the sky, spraying blood flowers on the snow.

The remaining assassins exchanged glances, whistled, and fled.

Xie Wanyun did not chase after him, but put away his sword. A trickle of blood dripped down the snow-white sword.

He walked to Yan Suizhi's side, his eyes as cold as a sword.

"How are you? Are you hurt?"

"Thank you, ma'am. I owe you another life-saving favor." Yan Suizhi smiled bitterly.

Chen Zuo gathered the remaining black-armored guards and came forward to express his gratitude.

"You guys step back first and go back to receive your punishment." Yan Suizhi said coldly.

"They tried their best. You shouldn't be too harsh on them." Xie Wanyun watched Chen Zuo, who looked ashamed, walk away with his guards.

"I kept them to protect my safety, but I almost lost my life again." Yan Suizhi was referring to the last time he was attacked outside the city. It was Xie Wanyun who rescued him and saved him from danger.

"These assassins are quite skilled in martial arts, and I found it quite strenuous to fight them." Xie Wanyun said calmly.

Yan Suizhi's eyes lit up and he asked anxiously, "Are you hurt?"

"No. Are you hurt?" Xie Wanyun asked when he saw the blood stains on his face.

Yan Suizhi shook his head. "That's not my blood."

Xie Wanyun's cold gaze lingered on his face for a moment before she spoke, "Lord Yan, remember that day when I advised you to stay away from the court, but you didn't listen. And not long after, you were assassinated again. I can't always be there to save you."

A faint blush crept onto Yan Suizhi's pale face. His lips moved, but he ultimately said nothing.

"Take my carriage." Xie Wanyun knew that he was reluctant to say it, so she didn't force him.

Yan Suizhi didn't hesitate and followed her into the carriage.

The carriage sped back towards the city.

They were all silent. Yu Zhui knew they had something to say and had already hidden outside.

"Lord Yan." Xie Wanyun looked at the tall city walls of Shangjing City in front of him and remembered what he didn't ask him last time.

"Madam, please feel free to ask whatever you want to ask." Yan Suizhi was also injured in the attack. He was trying his best to escape for his life, but now that he relaxed, he felt unbearable pain all over his body.

He gritted his teeth and endured it, trying not to show any abnormality.

Xie Wanyun hesitated again. After all, things had changed, and Yan Suizhi was no longer a member of the Xie family. If he didn't want to talk about the past, she couldn't force him to do something in return.

"Mianmei." Yan Suizhi suddenly said softly, "I haven't hidden anything from you. What do you want to know?"

This call of "姩姩" contained all his tenderness and trust.

It was as if this person had turned back into the simple, enthusiastic boy he was back then.

Xie Wanyun's eyes flickered and his heart was beating fast.

It was rare that I didn't speak up to stop him from calling him that this time.

"Will you tell me everything I want to know?" Xie Wanyun said slowly.

Yan Suizhi's eyes suddenly became deep, and a complex array of emotions intertwined and surged in his eyes.

He clenched his hands into fists so tightly that his knuckles turned white.

After a long time, he slowly nodded.

"I want to know how my father, the Duke of Zhenguo, and his entire family sacrificed their lives for their country at Blue Moon Pass. Why hasn't the reinforcement arrived yet? Is there something else going on?"

Xie Wanyun asked this question with difficulty, and then, almost holding her breath, quietly waited for his answer.
