You reap what you sow. His current fate is entirely his own fault. Xie Wanyun wasted no time in dealing with him, and he was helping him. What was he thinking?
As expected, Qin Su'an spoke. "Wanyun, I know your business has been booming lately and you've made a lot of money. Could you please give my immediate superior, Lord Li, and the other lords some gifts, or even just some banknotes, so they can find me a less stressful job? I can't handle this. We're husband and wife after all, and you can't bear to see me like this, right?"
Xie Wanyun was speechless. What kind of face was this person made of? How could he say that?
Seeing she remained silent, Qin Su'an assumed she was already impressed, so he struck while the iron was hot. "Wanyun, I know there are some former members of the Xie family among these people. They'll at least give you some respect. Please help me. Husband and wife are one, we prosper together and suffer together!"
Xie Wanyun wanted to laugh.
Qin Su'an saw that there was a way! A look of joy appeared on his face.
Xie Wanyun said slowly, "I'm sorry, Qin Su'an, I can't help you with this. Bribing an official is a serious crime, and as a businessman, I don't have the guts to do that. As for the old members of the Xie family, don't count on them. The Xie family has long been in decline, so where are the old members?"
Qin Su'an felt as if he had been hit on the head, and the smile on his face froze.
"It's getting late. I'm going back to my room. Please do as you please, sir." Xie Wanyun stood up and left.
"Xie Wanyun, stop right there!" Qin Su'an limped over, his broken leg aching with agony and his head pounding with heat. He didn't care about the embarrassment and shouted at the top of his lungs, "Are you really so heartless? You're really not going to help me?"
Xie Wanyun suppressed the disgust in his heart and said without turning his head, "I can't help you, Master Qin, take care of yourself."
The corners of her robe fluttered, and her lonely and slender figure disappeared into the night.
Qin Su'an was stunned when he saw the last glimmer of hope shattered.
Xie Wanyun walked quickly, wanting to get as far away from that disgusting man as possible. In her previous life, she had been completely sincere to Qin Su'an and the entire Qin family, giving them everything she had, but what had she gotten in return?
His property was seized, he was treated as a madman and thrown onto the farm to die, and his newborn child was thrown into the snow.
She can still live with them in the mansion and support two old ladies. She has done her best.
She stepped onto a path paved with bluestone. On one side was a gentle slope. Below the slope was a lotus pond. In summer, the pond was full of fragrant lotus flowers, but now there was only a pool of dirty water and a few broken stems.
"Greetings to the Madam." A figure suddenly walked out of the darkness and called out in a ghostly voice.
Xie Wanyun was slightly startled, "Liu Yuner, why are you here? Is there something wrong?"
She wondered why these two people, since they both came to find her, had to act separately instead of coming together.
Liu Yun'er's eyes sparkled in the dark night. "I just came to see Madam. Master is here too, right?"
Xie Wanyun suddenly felt very uncomfortable and said, "He should still be in the hall now. Go find him."
Liu Yuner took another step closer. "I'm not looking for the master, I'm here to see the lady."
Xie Wanyun took a step back calmly, "What do you want from me? We can talk tomorrow if you have anything to say."
Liu Yuner sighed softly. The yellowish light from the lantern made her face appear light and dark in patches, giving it a strange look.
"Madam, I know that the master came to you because he wanted to reconcile with you, right?"
"I can't control what Qin Su'an thinks. I won't even look at him." Xie Wanyun said with a bit of annoyance, "It's getting late. You should go back first."
Seeing this, Xie Wanyun knew that Liu Yuner must have some plans for today.
She roughly calculated the time and realized Liu Yun'er should have miscarried. Xie Wanyun understood her plans after a brief thought. She must have come to her now to frame her and make her the scapegoat.
The path was very narrow, and Liu Yun'er still stood there, probably waiting for Xie Wanyun to push her.
Yuzhui couldn't help herself and said, "What is Madam Liu doing? She's just blocking Madam's way. Please move aside."
There were several lanterns moving towards this side ahead, and faint voices of people could be heard.
Liu Yun'er leaned sideways, and Xie Wanyun took a step forward.
