Yuzhui's gaze suddenly shrank into a line, his mind went blank, and he turned around and walked back completely unconsciously.
"Master Jinbai, lift up your clothes and let me see." She said as she pulled him.
Jin Bai was bewildered and quickly dodged, yelling, "Hey, hey, Aunt Yuzhui, what are you doing? Even though I'm young, I'm still a man. Men and women shouldn't touch each other. You can't touch me!"
Yu Zhui remembered it clearly. Although she was kicked out when Xie Wanyun gave birth, Xie Wanyun fainted after the child was born. She took advantage of the chaos to sneak into the delivery room and wanted to take care of her. She did not trust the people in the Qin family.
She saw that it was a healthy baby boy crying loudly. She also vaguely saw a light red birthmark on the baby's lower back, but before she could see it clearly, she was driven out again.
She felt that the red mark on Jinbai's waist looked familiar.
Jin Bai had already put on her clothes in a hurry, looking at the jade pendant with dissatisfaction, her little face serious.
"Aunt Yuzhui, your behavior today was very rude."
Yuzhu was about to say something when Xie Wanyun's voice came from outside, "Jinbai, Yuzhu, have you changed your clothes? You've been gone for so long."
Jin Bai agreed and skipped out, leaving Yu Zhui standing in the room in a daze.
She then shook her head and smiled self-deprecatingly. There was no such coincidence in the world.
Back at the Marquis' residence, although Wei and Qin Su'an had kept the matter secret from Old Madam Qin, there was no such thing as a wall that couldn't be penetrated. Furthermore, Liu Yun'er was intent on exposing the matter, and Wei Mingyue was adding insult to injury. However, these two dared not openly oppose Wei and her son, so they were deliberately vague. The old lady was completely bewildered, and when she pressed them further, they all hemmed and hawed, making her even more uneasy. She simply sent Madam Liu to invite Xie Wanyun back.
Xie Wanyun couldn't refuse, so she had to come. When she saw Old Madam Qin, she looked worried and sighed non-stop.
Old Madam Qin's heart was in suspense. She looked at Wei, who sat beside her, her face ashen. Her heart was in turmoil, her mind pounding with anxiety.
Feeling her mouth dry, she swallowed hard before asking, "Wanyun, how is this deal going? Just give me a definite answer. Don't make me, an old lady, worry about it day and night, okay?"
Xie Wanyun lowered his head and remained silent.
"Just tell me!" Old Madam Qin couldn't help herself and slammed the table! She gnashed her teeth and looked ferocious.
Xie Wanyun sneered inwardly. It seemed the ginseng nourishing pills had been quite effective, giving him considerable strength.
He sighed and shook his head slightly, then turned his gaze to Wei and said, "I told Madam everything that day. Just ask Madam directly."
Wei clutched her chest, struggling to breathe. She was even more horrified when she saw Old Madam Qin's face, distorted with anger.
She already hated Xie Wanyun for causing her losses, and now seeing her taking her anger out on herself, she angrily said, "You did something wrong yourself, why do you want me to cover it up for you?"
Wei Mingyue, who was standing next to her, felt a little uneasy and quickly pushed her gently, meaning that she should not speak so harshly and not offend Xie Wanyun.
Wei was so angry that she had no time to pay attention to her.
Xie Wanyun's eyes widened in surprise, a look of innocence on her face. "That day, I told my wife everything. I thought my wife and the old lady were closer, so it would be easier to explain. Since my wife wouldn't say anything, I'll tell her anyway."
He calmly repeated what he had said to Wei that day, his face full of regret and his voice full of remorse.
"This deal was supposed to be a sure win, but I had something more pressing to attend to at the time, so I figured it would be fine if I left it for two days. Who could have foreseen the sudden, insane heat those few days? It's all my fault for being careless. Madam, I feel bad that you've suffered a loss, too. Actually, I suffered a greater loss myself..."
Madam Qin's voice was hoarse, and she stared at her with her eyes fixed on her. "You mean, it's all over? All lost?"
