Chapter 73: Madam Li's Encounter

"It seems that she really hates Su An. This is not a solution. After all, she is the eldest lady and the mistress of the Marquis's Mansion. She holds all the money in her hands and withholds it from us. Our lives are not easy either."

Madam Qin nodded. "You're right. But look at her attitude. She won't listen to us. Why don't I have someone go and give her a little warning? Maybe she'll listen to what others say."

Wei nodded repeatedly, "What the old lady said is right. Who should go?"

Madam Qin thought carefully about all her friends and shook her head. "My old sisters are all old, and I'm afraid they won't be able to win over her. But I remember that you have always been good friends with Madam Li from the Earl of Dongchang. She is eloquent and warm-hearted. Although her social status is a little low, it's not a big deal."

Wei lowered her head and thought for a moment, then sighed, "This is the only way. I'll go to the Earl of Dongchang's mansion to visit Madam Li."

One day a noble lady came to Yunjianfang. She was adorned from head to toe with jewels and precious stones, and her brocade clothes and mink fur coats were dazzling.

It's almost like "I'm rich" is written on his face.

He held his head high and puffed out his chest, looking very proud. As soon as he entered the door, he asked, "Is your boss here?"

Xie Wanyun was inside checking the account books. Of all the Xie family's shops, Yunjianfang was the one she visited most frequently.

Hearing the loud voice, he stood up and walked out.

She recognized this as Madam Li from the Earl of Dongchang's mansion, who had always been on good terms with the Wei family. Seeing the unpleasant look on her face, she knew she was looking for trouble.

Madam Li carefully examined Xie Wanyun. She saw that despite her thin figure, her physique was excellent. Even with her heavy winter clothes, she didn't look bulky, but rather appeared somewhat graceful.

Her appearance is too cold and beautiful, and she doesn't look like a blessed person.

Although there was a smile on his face, his eyes were cold and without a trace of warmth.

No wonder Wei-shi gave her a headache just talking about her presence. She looked like she wasn't someone to be around.

Mrs. Li also felt a little nervous.

Xie Wanyun smiled and said politely, "So you are Madam Li from the Earl of Dongchang's Mansion. It is my honor to have you visit Yunjianfang today. Madam, please take a good look. If there is anything you like, I will give you a discount and give you the most favorable price."

Madam Li breathed a sigh of relief. She thought to herself that Xie Wanyun was her junior after all, and she couldn't lose face in front of her.

She nodded modestly and said, "You are Su An's wife, Xie Wanyun. I was unable to attend your wedding due to some matters, so we met for the first time today. I am your mother-in-law's best friend. She has told me several times to come and take care of your business. So I came today."

Xie Wanyun smiled and said, "Thank you very much. Please take your time to look around. When you like something, please let me know and I will give you a price that satisfies you. I have some things to do, so I won't accompany you."

Mrs. Li was stunned and could only nod her head. She took her maid to browse the shelves slowly.

Xie Wanyun's expression was calm, as she went about her business. She asked the shopkeeper to report the recent arrivals and departures, inspected the quality of the goods, and entertained customers, leaving her with no time to spare.

Mrs. Li walked back and forth between the seven shops several times, her legs aching from walking, and Xie Wanyun showed no intention of greeting her.

She had no choice but to ask her maid to invite Xie Wanyun over.

Xie Wanyun was very considerate and came over quickly. Smiling, he asked her if she had chosen the items she liked.

Madam Li felt quite unhappy. She had previously thought that Wei was exaggerating, wondering how much power an orphan girl could possibly possess by marrying into the Yuanxing Marquisate. But the man gave her the cold shoulder for a long time, a warning to her.

Only then did she realize that this cold young woman was not easy to deal with. But she had to do what she had promised her best friend, otherwise where would she put her face?

I simply said, "Your mother-in-law and I are close friends, and I'm also your elder, so I'll just call you Wanyun, okay?"

Xie Wanyun smiled faintly and said hello.
