Killing fish
Time passed at a leisurely pace, and Shen Tinghe found a job.
Chen Rancheng's investigation has also yielded results.
In the spring semester, Shen Tinghe officially became a university lecturer, injecting fresh blood into the School of Education at Shanghai International Studies University, and the students cheered for the arrival of a young and beautiful teacher.
Upon hearing this, Zhai Chen sent her a WeChat message urging her to put the dinner invitation on the agenda, since he had played a part in her successful landing!
As for the investigation of Chen Rancheng, he did not interfere at all, nor did he try to prove his innocence; he simply let them investigate at their own pace.
On his first day back at work, Chen Rancheng ran into Wang Wukun in the break room. He still had his standard smile, but the stiffness at the corners of his mouth made him look somewhat comical.
The tea in the office had gotten damp, and the water it was brewed with tasted bad. Chen Rancheng poured the tea into the colander and looked up. "Quite a coincidence, Director Wang."
He's in a good mood right now, so I'd like to chat with him for a bit.
Wang Wukun's expression wasn't good. He had been in a car accident on the way here, and when he saw Chen Rancheng, he was stunned, as if he hadn't expected him to come back. No one in the department had notified him.
"Wang Si doesn't seem to be in a good mood. Could it be because he saw me this morning?"
Wang Wukun chuckled twice. "Nothing like that. We were rear-ended on the way here." He then asked, "Is it resolved?"
He's shameless and has a thick tongue. Everyone knows he framed someone, but he still has the audacity to ask.
Chen Rancheng was no novice either; at such a young age, his high position made him a seasoned veteran. He brewed some tea he had gotten from Deng Yixiao, saying, "It's all settled. I even brought everyone a gift."
As he spoke of the gift, his eyes turned to Wang Wukun with a calm expression. But it was precisely this calm and unwavering gaze that made Wang Wukun's heart race, sensing something amiss.
My eyelid twitched.
The tea leaves unfurled and danced until they reached the rim of the cup, filling the air with the aroma of floral tea. "I've brewed it, please enjoy."
At a departmental meeting, Chen Rancheng sat next to Jiang Dewen, leisurely flipping through documents and files, occasionally marking key points with his pen.
Wang Wukun spent more than two hours in fear and trepidation, and when the meeting ended, he still hadn't heard Chen Rancheng mention any gifts.
As the meeting adjourned and he was about to get up and leave, Jiang Dewen called him back, drawing everyone's attention. But out of respect for his superior, he glanced at him and quickly looked away, keeping his head down and hurrying away.
Chen Rancheng packed his things, lagged behind, walked to Wang Wukun's side, and nodded, "Thank you for your hard work."
It's just acting, anyone can do that.
During his free time, Chen Rancheng did a lot of things, such as trying the Chinese restaurant that Shen Tinghe said was delicious, taking another trip to the South of France, and also getting Wang Wukun arrested.
"If you cannot conquer your own heart, how can you conquer the heavens?" This phrase perfectly describes him.
Less than half an hour after the meeting ended, Wang Wukun emerged from the conference room looking disheveled and dejected, while a group of uniformed people rushed into the office building and took him away.
Everyone was talking at once, asking what he had done to warrant such a fuss. Some said he had evaded taxes, others said he had solicited prostitutes, and still others said it couldn't be *that* kind of thing, even gesturing as they spoke.
Truth and falsehood intertwined.
Public opinion can be incredibly powerful; this is a perfect example.
Later, news reports revealed Wang Wukun's affair to the public, causing widespread dismay within the ministry. There were also rumors that Director Chen had orchestrated the affair, saying that while he appeared mild-mannered, he was actually quite ruthless and should not be trifled with.
The woman who cared deeply for Chen Rancheng couldn't help but rebuke him, "If Wang Wukun didn't do it, where would Chen Si get it from? I think you're just envious and jealous!"
Chen Rancheng had heard a little about what they were saying, but he remained as usual. Everyone began to wonder what kind of person Chen Si really was. Before they could figure out their boss's true nature, Chen Rancheng was transferred.
It was a bright and sunny morning. The cicadas were chirping incessantly, which was a bit noisy. After Jiang Dewen announced that Chen Rancheng was officially transferred, the cicadas outside the window stopped chirping.
Everyone was caught off guard by this sudden news, seemingly thinking it was a hallucination from a drowsy state of mind. Personnel relocation is by no means a matter for just one person; it involves a multitude of issues, both big and small, that are enough to drive anyone crazy.
But what was happening before his eyes was real; the boss was gone. Chen Rancheng spent three days coordinating the work before boarding a plane to Yucheng.
