Chapter 14 Happy

Chapter 14: Happy

Sol's first tutoring class turned into a spring cleaning.

Fortunately, Thor already had experience in doing the job and was able to get started quickly.

Mark was in a good mood when he saw that he worked meticulously and seriously. While cleaning up, he told Sol some things he needed to pay attention to in his studies.

Two hours passed like this. Mark had to leave for something, so he told Saul about the finishing work.

"You will put the garbage into the yellow trash can later. Remember it is yellow. If it is not yellow, put it in a bag, seal it, and deal with it tomorrow."

Thor looked at the yellow trash can next to the laboratory door, which was taller than his chest, and nodded seriously.

"Okay." Mark pulled out a chair, stretched out his legs and sat down, "Now I'll give you a chance. You have five minutes to answer. After that, I'm going on a date."

Thor quickly asked the question he had prepared long ago.

"Senior Mark, what influence do mental power and magic power have on the study of witchcraft?"

Mark was not surprised by Thor's question. After listening to what Teacher Kaz said, he had already realized that the magical talent of this junior in front of him was probably very poor, but his mental talent was good.

Maybe he is unwilling to accept this.

"If we look at it from the perspective of book knowledge, both are equally important. But as a wizard who values practice, magic is the medium that turns knowledge into witchcraft."

"Let me give you a rough analogy. The elemental ions in the outside world are a river a hundred meters away from you. Your mental talent is your running speed, and your magic talent is the tool you use to carry water."

Mark gestured with his hands.

"Ordinary wizard apprentices usually carry water in buckets." His gestures shrank again, "but you use a bowl. So your growth will be much slower, do you understand?"

Thor immediately said, "Then I'll make a few more trips."

Mark shook his head. "More than that. In the wizarding world, there is almost no time when magic is not used. You cast spells, make props, draw magic circles, and construct runes, and these require you to carry two bowls of water or even a bucket of water at a time. What if your bowl can't do it?"

Thor lowered his head and showed a little with his left fingertips. "Senior Mark, is there no way to turn the small bowl in my hand into a big bucket? For example, witchcraft transformation?"

Mark also glanced at Thor's left hand, but this level of body modification was nothing to him.

"Of course there are, but almost no first-level apprentice can bear it. The witchcraft transformation that the instructor just mentioned requires at least a second-level apprentice to attempt."

He raised his hands, and a big mouth opened in the palms of both hands at the same time, opening and closing continuously, wanting to swallow and lick.

Two bright red tongues kept probing and approaching Thor.

Thor gritted his teeth, forcing himself not to retreat instinctively, while his left hand was ready to strike at any time.

Just as the atmosphere in the room grew colder, Mark suddenly retracted his hand.

"Don't move, this is a laboratory."

He said this calmly, as if he just wanted to scare Thor.

"Okay, Senior Mark." Thor also put down his left hand and asked unwillingly, "Is there no transformation that a first-level apprentice can do? I'm afraid I only have three months."

Senior Mark stretched and stood up. "Then you can only gamble your life. For example, go to the library and look at the textbooks that the second-level apprentices will use."

Saul could see that Mark was getting ready to leave, and he didn't have much time to ask questions.

He hurriedly followed Mark to the door, "Can I borrow the books for the second-level apprentice?"

Mark walked quickly to the door and opened it with one hand.

"As long as the books are in the public library, you can borrow them." He turned around and showed a weird smile. "The library has never stopped low-level wizards from reading books by high-level wizards. They are also very boring."

After saying that, Mark left the laboratory and closed the door.

Thor stood in front of the door, lowering his head in thought: "A bet of my life?"

It would be impossible for Thor to complete Mentor Kaz's requirements in three months just by meditation.

He looked at the hardcover book floating quietly on his left shoulder, "I'm good at this."

At this moment, the door of the laboratory suddenly opened again, and Mark poked half of his face out, "Remember to pack up your things before leaving."

"Got it, Senior."

Thor was startled and shrank back when he looked at Mark's half face.

The door is closed.

Thor was the only one left in the room.

I guess so……

Thor turned around and looked around. There wasn't much work left for him to do. Just simple tidying up, taking out the trash, and checking that all the cabinets were closed tightly.

Thor walked around the lab.

He pushed back the chair Mark had pulled out and scooped up the trash from under the table and threw it into the yellow trash can.

The yellow trash can was very dark and bottomless. It looked more like a passage than a bucket.

Thor didn't bother to look at it and immediately closed the lid after dumping the trash.

"I always feel uncomfortable when I'm the only one in the lab." Thor touched his arm, as if he could feel goose bumps "pop" out from under his skin.

Thor found a few more graffiti on the table in the middle of the laboratory. There had been something drawn on the paper, but it had been completely covered by the black chaotic lines, and nothing could be seen.

The paper was wrinkled, as if it had been thrown away and then picked up and flattened.

“Were there these pieces of paper here just now?”

Thor carefully swept it into the bucket and turned around to prepare to pour it again.

However, just as Thor reached out to lift the lid of the trash can, the trash can suddenly turned red in front of Thor.

Thor's hand suddenly stopped in mid-air and slowly retracted.

He pretended he saw nothing, turned around, sealed the bucket, and put it under the table.

He continued his inspection and walked to a row of cabinets at the deepest part of the laboratory.

Somehow, he suddenly remembered the picture of the walking monster that he used for meditation today.

According to the layout on the picture, Thor is now standing at the position of the lowest monster.

He quickly shook his head to get rid of this unlucky thought, but when he took another step, he stepped on something.

He looked down and nearly jumped.

It turned out to be the puppet doll they used to test the talents of new recruits.

There were clearly two holes where the puppet's eyes should be, but Thor felt as if someone was watching him from inside.

"… Make sure there is no debris on the floor of the closet area when you leave. I will clean it up first. If you find something on the floor when you leave, don't worry, just look around for a closet with the same item, pick it up and put it back. Make sure to close the closet door!"

Thor thought of Mark's instructions just now.

He turned his head and saw that the cabinet next to him was opened a little.

Through the glass cabinet door you can see… piles of puppets placed in all directions.

"Well, this is your house."

Thor tilted his head slightly to avoid looking directly into the eyes of the puppet on the ground, and leaned over to pick up the puppet.

When his fingertips touched the rough and cool surface of the puppet...

“Clatter…”

A sound that only Thor could hear was heard, and the hardcover book flew in front of Thor. The pages flipped quickly and finally stopped at a new blank page.

[On May 26, 314th year of the New Moon Calendar, you were left behind by Mark to clean the laboratory.

This is really not an easy life.

You've got your foot stubbed by a naughty puppet and are about to throw it back where it belongs.

You opened the cabinet door, picked up the puppet's head, and put it in carefully.

You were held by the head and carefully lowered down.

You lie on your companion's body, watching the glass cabinet door close. Sol outside the door hums a beautiful song and runs away happily. 】
