Chapter 170 Negotiation
Thor stared at Hayden with his only remaining right eye and saw the color draining from his face.
From what Thor understood, Hayden, who was hiding in the morgue and not attending classes, doing research, or making any progress, probably wanted to wait until he was thirty years old, leave the wizard tower, and live a free and low-key life.
But the reality is not as good as imagined.
The closed-off Hayden finally came into contact with the truth that he had always been unaware of.
He became dejected, his body swaying, and he put one hand on the toolbench, messing up the neatly arranged tools.
Just like his mood at the moment.
"I told you not to hide, don't hide, you coward. Now it's over! It's over, right?" Hayden, with a pale face, suddenly opened his mouth and said something that was completely inconsistent with his expression.
Looking at Hayden like this, Thor raised his hand and pinched his chin, thinking deeply.
As a neighbor for two years, he had long noticed that Hayden had some personality problems, as if he had developed a second personality. He didn't know if it was the influence of witchcraft radiation or his own inner disease.
At first, Saul didn't intend to pay attention, but during this cooperation, he suddenly felt that Hayden was actually a good assistant.
He has no extra curiosity, but has a solid foundation of knowledge. He has unlocked almost all of the 0th-level witchcraft library. He has rich experimental experience and has handled countless customers.
Most importantly, Hayden has no power behind him.
Thor lowered his hands and crossed his index fingers.
"Senior Hayden, I'll give you a choice. Do you want to leave the Wizard Tower at the age of 30, or work hard in the last two years and reach level three?"
Thor's question slightly loosened Hayden's restraint of all these years, but when he thought of his own situation, he became discouraged again.
"Thor, I'm already 28 this year. The two years you mentioned are really only two years."
Thor didn't force Hayden. He turned around and glanced at the human body display cabinets on the wall. "If you change your mind and want to give it one last try, you can come find me."
Thor walked out the door and said, "If you want to try, you can put an eye outside the door. I'll see it and come back to find you."
"You? You want to help me?" Hayden took a breath and looked at Thor, who was only fourteen years old. He felt it was a bit ridiculous, but he couldn't help but want to believe it.
"I'll do my best." Thor shrugged and opened the door to the morgue.
His white joints were extremely obvious against the scarlet gate.
After leaving the morgue, Thor saw that the time was almost up, so he went to Kukin's dormitory to keep an appointment that was full of hidden calculations.
"Your eyes..." Ku Jin pushed open the door and saw that Thor, who was fine yesterday, had become a one-eyed man today.
"It's just an experimental accident, no big deal." Thor said casually.
When Thor walked into the room, Kujin simply closed the door from the outside, leaving him outside.
Thor was startled and immediately turned around to open the door.
As his hand touched the doorknob, a voice came from the direction of the bedroom.
"Don't be nervous. Ku Jin didn't come in because I'm the one who wants to discuss cooperation with you."
He turned around and saw Ferguson who had taken off his pants last night.
Thor showed a suitable look of confusion and alertness on his face, "Who are you, Senior? What do you want to talk to me about?"
"Sit down." Ferguson pointed to the table and chairs in the living room, "I'm used to sitting down to talk."
"Is it because I can't stand?" Thor thought to himself, and walked hesitantly to the chair closest to the door and sat down.
Ferguson chose a seat opposite Thor and sat down, looking like he was ready to negotiate.
"I don't know what you are capable of, to replace Ku Jin for several years." Ferguson raised his chin and looked at Thor, "But there has always been an agreement between Ku Jin and me. I pay for the credits or other things Ku Jin needs, and Ku Jin provides me with the unique materials in the second warehouse."
So straightforward?
Thor puffed out his chest and said, "That was the deal between you and Ku Jin. Now he has left the warehouse, and I don't have the ability to continue the deal with you like he did."
Sol didn't say anything stupidly "You guys are actually stealing materials from the warehouse?"
It’s okay to pretend to be stupid, but being too stupid will be fake.
Ferguson didn't beat around the bush, "What are your concerns?"
"Metal door. Since you have already done the deal, you should know that the door will automatically determine the content of the mission. Anything that is not written by the communication pen cannot be transported out of the warehouse."
"We can help you solve the transportation problem. Do you have any other questions?"
us?
Are they secretly telling me that Ku Jin is also involved, or that there are other partners? Saul pondered for a few seconds, "What can you offer?"
"The most basic magic crystals and credits. Since you have accepted the warehouse mission, you will not be able to go out for a long time, so you will basically have no chance to go out on missions. If there is anything you need that is not available in the wizard tower, you can ask me and I can help you find it."
Thor crossed his arms, leaned back in his chair, and thought to himself, "The pie is pretty round."
"So what do you need me to transport? Let me make it clear in advance that I will not move anything with a number, even if you promise to help me solve the corresponding problems."
Ferguson tapped his hand on the armrest. "We will not touch the taboos. We will only ask for some ordinary things. We want long-term cooperation."
This time it was Thor's turn to think.
"How can I guarantee that people won't secretly report me after I do business with you?"
“Hahaha…” Ferguson leaned back. “What’s the point of reporting it? As long as you say you used it, will the instructor check for the missing materials one by one?”
Ferguson raised a finger at Thor and shook it gently. "You don't have to think about reporting it. First of all, we have been doing this for many years, and secondly, the instructors are actually aware of it. We are not greedy and will not foolishly touch the instructors' bottom line."
It seems that these guys have been smuggling materials for a long time, but some of the words just now were probably meant for Thor to hear.
Even if Thor hadn't overheard the conversation between the two, he wouldn't have accepted Ferguson's words at face value.
"I know about this, but I need some time to think about it." Thor glanced at the hourglass on the wall and stood up. "It's almost three o'clock. I'm going back to the warehouse."
Ferguson didn't stand up, but his face became a little gloomy and he folded his hands to cover his mouth.
"Thor, I think there is one thing you must understand. We are not wandering wizards, nor are we lone wolves in the wilderness. It is normal to carry out short-term or long-term cooperation to achieve certain goals. Otherwise, why do you think Wizard Gorza built the Wizard Tower? After all, the power of one person is limited."
Thor lowered his head slightly. "I understand what you mean, but I am also more cautious because I am considering cooperation. If I easily agree to everything, you will also worry that I will cheat, right?"
Thor asked again, "What do you want?"
Ferguson pursed his lips, hesitated for a moment, and finally said, "In order to keep it confidential, I will only tell you the moment before you enter the warehouse. If you do not leave the warehouse for a long time, or do not bring what we need when you come out, our deal will be terminated immediately."
Not giving Thor time to prepare was obviously also to prevent him from having time to play tricks.
But they didn't know that Thor had already heard their plan.
Thor supported himself on his knees, stood up and said, "Well, it seems that what you want is not simple."
Ferguson's expression froze. He didn't want Thor to think that way, so he quickly explained, "The materials that can enter the wizard tower vault are naturally not simple. I didn't tell you in advance because I was afraid of any accidents."
He tried to change the subject.
"You'd better not waste too much of our time. Give us an answer before tomorrow night, or we may change our partner."
Thor's smile instantly turned cold. "Change? How? Are you threatening me?"
Being questioned by a Level 2 apprentice, Ferguson's anger flared up. But when he put his hands on the armrests and tried to stand up, his movement changed from supporting to grasping.
"It's not a threat," he suppressed his anger and gripped the handrail tightly, as if he wanted to break it, "It's just a necessary reminder."
After Ferguson gave in, Saul's expression changed instantly and he said with a smile: "Thank you for your reminder, senior. I'll leave first."
But this time he didn't promise to think it over carefully.
