Chapter 2 In vivo Experiments

Chapter 2: Live Experiment

Thor stood still.

He was thinking, but he was running out of time.

The candlelight on the wall has changed from dim yellow to dim yellow. When it turns bright yellow, it means that dawn will be approaching. Before the candlelight emits white light, Thor must return to the fourth floor.

These are the regulations.

The pool of blood on the ground is still there.

If he leaves, he will become fertilizer the next day.

But cleaning?

He is an ordinary person without any extraordinary means. How can he deal with the strange murderous blood?

Ask for help from others?

The boys who lived with him seemed to be somewhat hostile to Thor before he crossed over, and they would never come to help him. Moreover, those people were ordinary people like Thor and had no ability to help him.

Looking for the butler? But the butler never appeared at night, and Thor didn't know where to find him.

His current activity area is the fourth servant level and the eleventh to thirteenth levels.

There is no way.

Thor's shaking fingers suddenly steadied.

He put the mop back into the cart and straightened his clothes.

He walked to the room opposite the room where the blood was flowing, raised his hand, and knocked gently on the door three times.

In the silent corridor, the three knocks on the door were very clear.

Thor lowered his head and glanced at the hardcover book, but there was no new way for him to die on it.

Just as Thor raised his hand to knock three more times, the door in front of him suddenly opened.

Thor held his breath.

The door opened slowly.

A slender figure appeared from behind.

It was a woman, wearing a black nightgown. She had a plump but not fat figure, and the skin exposed outside her clothes was very white.

Thor looked up and saw the graceful chin, rosy and plump lips, high nose bridge, and then... it was gone.

A woman has only half a head!

Seeing such a scene in the dark night, Thor felt like his soul was about to fly away.

Thor suppressed his fear and didn't let himself show any rude expression.

But his teeth were chattering uncontrollably.

The woman opposite lowered her head. The upper half of her head was missing, and the skin and flesh at the cut on her head were white and rotten.

The place where the eyes should have been was replaced by a semicircular glass cover.

The glass cover contained turbid white liquid. As she lowered her head, something that looked like an eyeball would hit the glass wall from time to time.

"What's up?"

The half-faced woman slightly opened her red lips and her voice was quite pleasant.

"Sir..." Thor heard his voice trembling. He took a deep breath to steady himself. "There is a pool of blood in the room opposite. I am unable to deal with it. Please save me, sir."

The woman looked up and saw an eyeball appear in the glass cover, clinging to the edge.

Then her eyes disappeared, she lowered her head again and chuckled: "Why should I save you?"

Thor knew that he would not be so lucky to meet a kind and helpful person when he knocked on the door.

"My lord, what do you need me to do?" Thor lowered his head.

He was just a servant and had no right to make conditions.

The woman held her chin with her slender fingers. "I need a living test subject, but I don't have enough credits recently. If you volunteer to be my test subject, I will help you solve that problem."

Saul side-glanced at the hardcover book on his left shoulder.

There was no response from the hardcover book.

Thor is too weak now, and he can only take a gamble relying on the death hint in the hardcover book.

"good!"

The woman curled her red lips, very satisfied with Thor's decisiveness.

She stepped aside to let Thor enter her room, then walked outside and did something unknown.

Saul stood in the woman's room.

He found that this place was much larger than the dormitory where more than a dozen people lived, and there was also a suite inside.

There was an oil lamp on in the living room, which was very bright and stable, and it should have had some kind of witchcraft effect.

On the long table in the middle of the living room, there were many props and materials that he didn't recognize at all.

The most eye-catching thing is the crucible in the middle placed on a small stove, with a pot of black liquid bubbling inside.

"This is what you are looking at." The woman walked in at some point.

Thor looked back and saw that the door was closed. He wondered whether the pool of blood outside had been dealt with.

"I need you to put one hand into the crucible, take it out and tell me how you feel."

The woman pulled out a bench and sat across the table, crossing her legs and waiting for Thor's reaction.

Thor knew that he had no bargaining power, so he simply gave up begging for mercy.

He rolled up his left sleeve, took a deep breath, walked forward, and plunged his entire hand into the black liquid.

He didn't use a finger to test it first, for fear of backfiring and causing the woman's dissatisfaction.

"Hiss—" Thor took a breath.

But he was not burned, but cold.

A bone-chilling cold.

"Chuckle, cluck"

Thor's teeth were chattering from the cold.

"You can take it out now."

Hearing the woman's voice, Thor hurriedly pulled his hand out.

But when he saw his hands, the breath he had just exhaled because of relaxation was inhaled back again.

The flesh on his hands was gone.

All that was left of Thor's left hand was a skeleton, as clean as a mannequin in an art studio.

The most terrifying thing was that Thor didn't feel any pain at this moment.

“Huh…huh…”

Thor kept gasping for breath, holding his left wrist with his right hand, and both hands were shaking.

When his left hand was shaking, there was a sound of bones rubbing against each other.

The woman opposite did not comfort Thor's fears. She stood up and pointed her finger at her chin.

"It seems that the Xisheli python has released too much gastric juice. How do you feel in your left hand now?"

"Giggle, giggle... cold... but not painful..."

Thor endured the fear and cold and tried his best to behave like a professional researcher.

"It seems to be under control."

As he spoke, he moved the fingers of his left hand.

It's a bit difficult, but it does move.

"Not bad." The woman smiled, seeming very satisfied with Thor's answer.

She picked and chose, taking a few of the ingredients on the table and throwing them into the crucible seemingly at random.

Two streams of white steam came out of the crucible with a hissing sound, and then it returned to its quiet state of bubbling just now.

"Now," the woman sat back down, raised her chin with interest, and pointed at the crucible, "put your other hand in."

Thor let out a breath; he had expected this.

The first attempt was obviously unsuccessful.

The second experiment was a natural progression.

Thor loosened his left hand, then resolutely put his right hand into the crucible.

"Well……"

He suddenly felt that his entire arm was frozen.

The right hand buried in the black liquid had no feeling at all.

"Okay."

Hearing the woman's voice, Thor immediately pulled out his right hand.

What is reassuring is that what was taken out this time was not a skeleton hand.

Not only that, his palms, which were originally covered with scars and calluses due to hard work, also became smooth and white.

Without waiting for the woman to urge him, Thor took the initiative to say, "Oh... it's still very cold, even colder than before... hehe..."

He tried to control the clashing of his teeth.

"…It doesn't hurt, I can control it…"

Thor stretched out his fingers and held them up for the woman opposite to see clearly.

The woman smiled again, and this time she was obviously happier, and Thor saw the sharp white teeth behind her red lips.

"You really surprised me."

The woman stood up and even clapped her hands twice.

She walked to the other side of the room, took out a crystal bottle from the cabinet, and handed it to Thor, "Drink it."

Seeing Thor's face turn ugly, she laughed so hard that the white paste on her head swayed with her movements.

"Don't worry, this isn't a test, it's a treatment."
