Chapter 35: Deserting
To be honest, with Senior Kong Sha looking like this, Sol felt that she no longer needed a brain.
He quickly lowered his head, afraid that Senior Kong Sha would think he was making fun of her.
"Remember?" Kong Sha tightened her grip on Thor's shoulders slightly.
Thor immediately broke out in a sweat from the pain.
"Remember, remember." he said repeatedly.
Kong Sha finally let him go, "Remember, at least one first-level apprentice's brain per month."
"But what if there aren't so many first-level apprentice corpses?"
Kong Sha looked down at Thor, the tenderness she had just shown had long since disappeared, revealing her true face that she had not had time to hide.
"Then you need to figure it out on your own. Remember, if the quantity is not enough, I will not give you the second potion."
Khonsa is gone.
Leave a small vial of potion for Thor.
The potion was contained in a glass bottle with a cork in the mouth, which was covered with a small piece of leather and wrapped with silk thread.
Fear of leakage.
But the first thing Thor did after Kongsha left was to open the bottle cap of the potion with great effort.
The medicine was transparent and produced some foam when shaken.
Thor frowned, leaned forward and sniffed gently.
A faint fishy smell.
It can't be said to smell too bad.
Thor quickly covered the bottle and resealed it with leather.
He had an idea and immediately sat down to meditate.
After a while, Thor opened his eyes.
"My meditation efficiency has improved a little. Even though it's only a little bit, I can feel it very obviously because I have so little magic power. It has indeed improved."
Thor looked at the potion on the table in disbelief.
Just by smelling it, he could actually feel the difference.
This medicine is really powerful! If I really swallow it in one gulp as Kong Sha said, and then sleep for a day and a night, wouldn't I be able to become a walking elemental particle absorption machine?
But the price to be paid behind the scenes is also enormous.
The hardcover book reminded himself that if he drank it all, it would become someone else's spellcasting material in three years.
What would he be like then? A dead body full of magical power? Or a walking corpse? But Senior Kong Sha told him to drink it all within a month! Thor had a blank expression on his face and put the small bottle close to his body.
Even without the reminder in the hardcover book, he had no intention of taking the potion.
He left it behind to appease Konsha. After all, he was planning to hold on to this long, white thigh to fight against West Germany.
Secondly, this potion is so potent that Thor wanted to find an opportunity to study it carefully. But it only lasts for one month, which is too short.
"Perhaps the hardcover book can help me make some improvements." Thor was still reluctant to give up the huge improvement brought by the potion. "After all, it is a magical medicine that can improve the efficiency of meditation just by smelling the smell."
"Wait, can I just sniff it?" Thor fell into deep thought.
…
The next day, Sol, who had dark circles under his eyes, met Kelly, who also had dark circles under her eyes, at the door of the public classroom.
The two looked at each other and tacitly did not comment on each other's appearance.
With the same pace and movements, they came to the familiar corner, pulled out the chairs, and sat down together.
As soon as she sat down, Keli yawned suddenly.
Tears squeezed out from the corners of his eyes and were ruthlessly wiped away by the back of his hand.
"You look very tired. Did you stay up late again?" Although Thor had no right to criticize others.
"I just feel the urgency of time. Those bad guys won't give us time to grow."
The "bad guys" that Keli was referring to were the mutual aid association that made her become abnormal more than ten days ago.
Keli has always been proud of herself, and her learning progress is the fastest among this batch of freshmen.
Except for Thor who couldn't see through the progress, Kelly thought she had tried very hard.
But ever since she was inexplicably parasitized in the mutual aid society without realizing it, Keli realized how ridiculous it was to only think about comparing progress with the same group of apprentices.
Even if there is only a small level difference, there is a huge gap between hunter and prey.
Weakness is the original sin!
Looking down at your feet while climbing a steep mountain can blind you to the boulders that might fall from above.
So she tried harder.
What is liver and what is curl are fully reflected in Keli.
Thor didn't know about Kelly's determination, but he knew her pride.
The experience in the mutual aid group had hurt Keli's chin, forcing her to bow her head.
Thor also knew that although Kelly was a real girl, she would not be defeated by such a small setback.
"Have you noticed," Keli stared at a corner of the classroom and whispered to Thor, "they don't seem to be behaving as strangely as they did that day."
Thor still had his head down reading, and his eyelids briefly twitched.
In the front corner of the classroom, Dozer and Rocky were still sitting next to Duke, but they were talking to the girls in the back row.
Kelly said the girl's name was Jenna.
He once stopped Thor and wanted to invite him to a mutual aid group, but Thor retorted and he didn't have a chance to speak in the end.
Jenna still looked a little shy, but it was obvious that she enjoyed being surrounded and chatted up by boys.
Although he only glanced at them, Thor saw that Duke looked a little absent-minded, while Doze was very proud of himself.
Only Rocky, who seemed to have no opinion of his own, would light up his eyes when he fell on Jenna.
“Youth…”
But thinking that these people seemed to have participated in a mutual aid group, Thor changed his words and said, "This short youth."
"I've observed them these days." Keli continued to whisper to Thor, "Except for the strange behavior on the first day they came back, they never showed the strange reaction then. But I secretly inquired and it seems that the mutual aid association has been established for several years."
How many years has it been established? Are there many members of the mutual aid association among the seniors around them? Thinking that these people may have some parasites and may become strange puppets at any time, Sol and Keli shuddered.
It's like you're walking down the hallway and everyone you pass is grinning unconsciously.
"It's impossible that everyone is a member of the mutual aid society. Doesn't Senior Byron have the means to deal with them?" Thor explained.
Keli bit her lip. She sometimes woke up from nightmares and then reached out to touch the scar on her head.
"But Senior Byron didn't want to interfere in their affairs. Jenna asked me to attend a party again a few days ago, but I didn't go."
Thor hadn't been invited again, but he still found it a bit tricky.
It will be troublesome if you get involved with this kind of organization.
Sometimes you can't just choose not to participate if you want to, especially when the organizers behind it have ulterior motives.
"You have to be careful and don't let them target you."
"It's okay. I told Jenna that Professor Gudo asked me to help out in his lab." Keli lifted her hair. "They don't dare to mess with the professor."
She also suggested to Sol, "You're fine, go find Senior Byron. If the organizers of the mutual aid association find out that you are close to Senior Byron, they may not dare to bother you."
Thor shook his head, "Senior Byron is almost thirty years old, and he will soon leave the Wizard Tower."
Thor told Keli that if she failed to advance to the third-level apprentice before the age of thirty, she would be expelled.
Keli was so surprised that she could hardly hold back her voice. "So that's how it is. No wonder those Level 2 apprentices who joined the nobles were all so old. They were actually dismissed by the Wizard Tower."
“I wonder when we can get out of this tower?”
Thor has never left the wizard tower since he traveled through time, and his activities are limited to just a few places.
I almost forgot what the sun looks like.
If Thor hadn't been filled with study and work all day long, leaving him no time to think, he might have gone crazy.
