Chapter 60: The Strongest Level 2
Monroe let out a long sigh.
Saul was still waiting for Monroe to continue, but that was all he was going to say about the second question.
When Thor asked further, Monroe said that this was not something Thor should know now.
There was only a little bit left in the hourglass.
Thor immediately asked, "Excuse me, who is the most powerful second-level apprentice in the wizard tower right now?"
Monroe smiled and said, "Right now, the one who is recognized as the strongest fighter is a Level 2 apprentice named Kong Sha who specializes in dark elemental elements. It's a pity that being the strongest doesn't mean that one has the highest chance of advancing to Level 3."
As Monroe uttered his last word, the last grain of sand in the blue hourglass fell into the glass below.
"Time's up, do you want to renew?" Monroe touched the small hourglass, as if preparing to turn it upside down again.
But Thor shook his head, thanked Monroe, and turned back to his seat.
Monroe dispersed the magic somewhat uninterestedly, put away the hourglass and continued reading.
On his way back, Thor passed by the long table where Duke and Dozer were sitting, but did not see Rocky.
When Thor looked over, both of them subconsciously avoided his gaze.
After returning to his seat and seeing Kelly looking at him, Thor shared some information with her.
"One credit is five minutes. You can keep the question confidential, but it will cost one extra credit...if you trust him to keep it confidential."
Keli frowned, "It's still expensive, why don't you ask the instructor?"
Thor looked at Keli in confusion, "Do you see your mentor often?"
Keli said: "Not very often, maybe once every three or four days."
Thor was speechless. It had only been three or four days. Sometimes he could only see Mentor Kaz once every ten days.
Whether or not Kaz is willing to answer his questions depends on his mood and how busy he is.
Another fan who had secretly guided him and could barely be considered a mentor...Thor had only met him twice so far.
After class, Thor was originally planning to go to the meditation class with Kelly, but when he saw Dozer and Duke walking in the opposite direction, he paused and decided to give up the meditation class.
As Kelly walked, she complained to Thor about the strange movements many people made when meditating, but halfway through her conversation she realized that Thor had disappeared again without her noticing.
Kelly rolled her eyes fiercely.
…
The sixth floor of the West Tower is the dormitory area.
As Thor walked back to the dormitory, he passed by the doors of 613 and 614.
At that time, Doze seemed to be about to knock on the door, but when he saw Saul, he turned around and went back to room 613.
Thor looked up and saw that Rocky should be living in room 614.
He thought to himself: "After Rocky was scared away by me yesterday, has he been hiding in the dormitory? Is there no one behind him? Or is it really just because of love?"
Thor's life after becoming an apprentice was different from that of other apprentices. Apart from studying, he did not have any good entertainment activities.
There are only corpses, stale blood, and souls that convulse from time to time.
So he couldn't quite understand why a little boy would face danger for a little girl.
Maybe it's because people in this world mature earlier.
Thor returned to the dormitory, thought for a moment, pushed the door open a little, and looked in the direction of 614.
He didn't see Doze going to find Rocky, but instead saw Duke coming out of 614.
"Duke, why are you everywhere?" Thor narrowed his eyes.
After Duke came out of Rocky's room, he did not return to his dormitory. Instead, he walked to the end of the corridor and went up the ramp.
Before going up, Duke looked back, as if to see if anyone was following him.
There was no obstruction on the ramp, so Thor naturally wouldn't follow up like this.
But even if he didn't follow him, he could guess who Duke was going to see.
…
In the middle of the night, Saul left the dormitory and crawled upstairs.
The wizard tower was still cold and eerie at night, and the dim candlelight could only illuminate a small area nearby.
When Thor was still a servant, he was always worried that a ghost face would suddenly appear in those areas where light could not reach.
Even though he is now a wizard apprentice, he is still afraid of those dark corners.
When he reached the tenth floor, Thor stopped for a moment.
There seemed to be a dark shadow wandering in the corridor on the tenth floor, but when Thor looked carefully, he could see nothing.
He didn't look any further and quickened his pace to the thirteenth floor.
Kong Sha's door opened as soon as he knocked. The other party might be waiting for him too.
"Sid is going to take action."
As soon as Kong Sha closed the door, Saul spoke bluntly.
"Are you sure? Killing a Level 2 apprentice without reason in the Wizard Tower will have serious consequences. Everything here belongs to... the Tower Master." Kong Sha took a deep breath and trembled. It seemed that just the mention of this title made her terrified. "Have you ever thought about the cost of making the wrong target and becoming an active attacker?"
"I know," said Saul, "the apprenticeship rules are very clear."
If an apprentice kills a servant without reason, credits will be deducted. If an apprentice is killed without reason, the apprentice will be skinned and credits will be deducted. If a mentor is harmed without reason, the mentor can deal with the apprentice at will.
"But those rules all have a premise of 'without cause'. As long as I was resisting and accidentally killed Sid, it wouldn't be without cause."
Seeing Kong Sha pursed her lips and said nothing, Thor spread his hands and said, "Senior, Sid has already controlled the two newcomers around me. If he strikes again, it will definitely be a killing move. Are you really willing to watch me die under Sid's calculations?"
After all, it was a chess piece that was pushed into the morgue with great difficulty.
Although the chess piece got out of control halfway.
Thor tried to make his voice more sincere. "Why not follow the plan? You take the brain of a second-level apprentice, and I lose an enemy."
Kong Sha's red lips suddenly curled up, and she sat back in the chair, circling her toes in the air.
"Tell me about your plan in detail."
Thor felt relieved. The second step of the plan was accomplished! He connected his experiences of the past two days with Sid's actions.
A lot of this is speculation.
But Thor didn't need to verify the truth of his guess, as long as Sid showed up at the last moment.
"He first contacted a girl named Jenna who participated in a mutual aid group... You know about mutual aid groups, right?"
Kong Sha nodded.
Even Kong Sha knows about the Mutual Aid Association. The power of this Mutual Aid Association may be greater than Thor thought.
"That new guy discovered the parasites of the mutual aid association and came to me for help, but it exploded in front of me."
Kong Sha touched her lips and said, "The parasites of the Mutual Aid Society are not fatal. It should not be the work of the Mutual Aid Society."
"I thought so too, and the explosion was not large in scale. Even if I wasn't wary of Jenna, it would be difficult for me to die in the explosion." Thor lowered his head. He could still remember the last second before the explosion, when the girl looked at him with hopeful eyes.
Thor came back to his senses and continued, "So, I guess Jenna must have a backup plan. Sure enough, a few days later, a boy named Rocky came to me to track down Jenna's whereabouts."
"He's dead too?"
"No, but he didn't show up for a few days. But because he didn't die, I had a hunch that he would come to see me again. And when he comes to see me again, that will be when Sid's killing move will arrive."
Kong Sha stopped rubbing her lips. "I don't understand this. Since you know he was also sent by West Germany, why don't you just kill him?"
"Known enemies are always easier to target than unknown ones." Saul slowly explained to Kong Sha, "Cid is a very cautious person. He never does things by himself. All the bad things that require killing people are done by others. But now I have angered him, and his strength is growing rapidly. If he attacks me again, he will definitely not want to fail again."
"For this reason, he will definitely show up at the end to make sure his plan does not fail."
In fact, Thor was sure that Sid would show up because he was sure that the other party would come to look for the Diary of the Dead Wizard in order to avoid being picked up by passers-by.
But nothing in the diary can be leaked.
