Chapter 642: Eliminating the Roots

Chapter 642: Cutting the Grass at the

Root The third level 3 wizard in the Borderlands must belong to the Stargate Council. But even within the Stargate Council there are different opinions.

However, originally the head of the Glowing Family and the Speaker of the Stargate were supposed to recommend one candidate each, but because Gorza and the wind demon Pearl simultaneously proposed that Thor should become the third third-level wizard, in the end there were three candidate wizards.

For other second-level wizards, without the endorsement of the forces behind them, they don’t even have the chance to know about this selection.

If other people had become level three beforehand - not to mention the probability - then what awaited them would be either being driven out of the No Man's Land or heading to the Wall of Sighs, the place where the largest number of level three wizards gathered.

But even though the selection was conducted in secret, some people who shouldn't have known about it had already anticipated how things would turn out.

For example, Kismet.

After saying goodbye to Lucy, he went to Clark's old house alone.

The big tree that was once hung with white wind chimes, along with the tree house on it, has turned into a stone sculpture and is cracking little by little under the erosion of the northwest wind.

Despite his past dealings with Clark, Kismet showed no sadness when he visited his former home.

Because of Clark's sudden death, the second-level wizards and other low-level wizards who once depended on him are gathering together to think about future arrangements.

They dreamed of establishing their own tribe or joining others, and went to the Wind Chime Tree House as soon as they got the news, hoping to find some legacy of the third-level wizards here.

But most people still underestimate the gap between the third level and the second level.

So when Kismet arrived, he saw a dozen wizard sculptures under the tree house.

Like the wind chime tree house, they were petrified by an unknown force and were drying and cracking bit by bit.

Such a sight quickly scared away the others, so when Kismet came over a few days later, there was no trace of other wizards around.

Ignoring the wizards around him who were petrified with expressions of fear on their faces, Kismet walked step by step to the tree.

He raised his head, jumped up, his body soaring like a bird, and then went into the tree house through the window.

"Bang!"

As his feet landed on the ground, they immediately broke through the floor. Kismet had to jump up again and then float in the air.

Although he was choked by the dust stirred up in the room, Kismet was still in a good mood and greeted the empty recliner: "Happy death, Clark."

As soon as he finished speaking, a vague shadow suddenly appeared on the empty recliner, but if you look closely, you can find Clark's outline in the shadow.

"Gorza... he trespassed... into no man's land..."

Shadow Clark's voice was very vague, as if it came from the other side of the distant mountains.

But Kismet could still hear it very clearly.

"I already know about this." He shrugged his shoulders and said nonchalantly, "I felt that the mummy wizard was suspicious from the beginning, so I followed him into the tower and saw him set up the fake eye of the storm to lure you in. Thinking about it this way, I guess I am also an accomplice, right?"

Clark, who originally wanted Kismet to inform Stargate of Gorza's whereabouts, was stunned.

Kismet seemed to have no idea that he had just said anything shocking. He walked forward and touched Clark's shadow with interest.

But his hand passed through the shadow without any surprise, as if there was nothing in front of him.

"You left part of your conscious soul in the dream about the tree house?"

“Kismet!!”

Shadow let out a hoarse howl.

In an instant, a strand of Kismet's hair petrified, shattered, and fell silently to the ground.

But that's all.

"Although you have absorbed the vitality of the entire tree house and the vitality of those wizards who wanted your inheritance, if you want to use this method against me, it is still..."

He was halfway through his words when he suddenly realized that his feet had lost feeling.

When I looked down, I realized that my feet had turned into stone without me noticing.

"Uh... okay, I underestimated you. As expected, a third-level warrior is still a third-level warrior. Even if he is dead, his remaining power is still amazing."

"I'm going to...eat you too!"

Clark's voice gradually became clearer, as if he had absorbed some of Kismet's life force.

However, the petrification on Kismet's feet was slowly spreading upwards.

Although it is said to be slow, in fact it only takes less than a minute for Clark's residual soul to turn Kismet into a stone statue.

Now Kismet still has another choice, which is to fly away from the tree house immediately while his upper body can still move freely, and fly to a place where Clark cannot affect him.

However, despite being slapped in the face by Clark, Kismet still had no intention of leaving.

He simply watched with interest as the petrification effect spread from his feet to his legs and gradually affected his waist and abdomen.

"Let me see, great dreamer, what can Mr. Clark do?" Kismet's eyes lit up, as if he was admiring the downfall of others.

But the horrific petrification just reached his chest and suddenly stopped.

The moisture in the skin and the fluid in the blood vessels and bones begin to stir.

Kismet immediately showed a painful expression, but he tried hard not to scream.

The petrification in his lower body seemed to have seen a ghost and it retreated from his body at an even faster speed.

"Are you testing me?"

Suddenly, several wounds burst out of Kismet's body, and blood rushed out of his wounds like a mouse that had been imprisoned for a long time, condensing into a blood ball in mid-air.

The surface of the blood cell rose and fell slightly, and soon a woman's face appeared.

Seeing that face, Clark, who was originally blurry, immediately disappeared like smoke.

Kismet's face immediately turned pale.

But he still showed a twisted smile, "I can swear on my life that I am definitely not testing you, lovely Lord Ophelia."

As soon as he said the word "cute", Kismet lost his ability to float and fell to the ground at an extremely fast speed, as if he was hit by a huge rock.

"Don't forget your pursuit." Ophelia said coldly, allowing Kismet to smash through the ground and into the trunk of the tree.

Then, the bloody face slowly turned to the recliner where Clark disappeared. "The power of dreams is good, but the caster himself is also easily immersed in dreams. Maybe this is the reason for your ultimate failure. But since you are already dead, die cleanly and don't run out halfway to get in the way."

The blood-colored ball suddenly exploded like a bomb, and the splattered blood covered the entire room, and then spread to the walls, tables and chairs.

Finally the whole room turned blood red.

The remaining soul of Clark, who had disappeared to an unknown place, reappeared.

"Ophelia, do you really have to do this!!!"

There was a hint of despair in the roaring voice.

Ophelia's voice came from all directions of the room.

"Although my power cannot be transmitted, dreams always rely on consciousness. As long as there is no carrier of consciousness here, your dream will disappear forever."

Following Ophelia's cold voice, red blood gradually filled the entire room.

Clark could no longer maintain the pride of a third-level wizard and started cursing.

However, when the red color dyed the tree house, the big trees outside, and the petrified people around it red.

Clark's cursing stopped abruptly.

Ophelia's breath also dissipated immediately.

There was no other life around, except for Kismet, who was smashed into the soil under the roots of a big tree.

There was almost no water on his body, and he was just skin and bones, like a skeleton.

Kismet finally got up, and immediately held onto the tree roots, bending over and retching.

"Uh... I feel dizzy."
