Chapter 755 Interrogation

"Dead?"

After hearing Thor's description, Kate stuck out her tongue and licked the corner of her mouth in surprise.

"Drowned in a basin? Really... there are all kinds of ways to die."

Thor was still leaning on the single bed, still holding the book he had held before leaving.

But he didn't read the book. Instead, he looked at the air in front of him with a look of confusion.

He seemed to be explaining to Kate, but also seemed to be sorting out his own thoughts.

"I checked the white porcelain kitten. There is no magic inside or outside. The overall construction material is the most common clay and the most common pigment. It is not a witchcraft material either."

"It could also be murder," Kate said. "This guy is a con man. He probably has a lot of enemies."

Thor tapped his chin lightly with the spine of the book. "I checked his luggage and found some large bills hidden inside. But his luggage was untouched. It's probably not for money or revenge because he was cheated of money."

Kate didn't care about the life or death of a liar at first, but she suddenly found that Saul was investigating very seriously.

Seems to be very concerned about the cause of death of that liar.

Kate raised her upper body and listened to what Thor said with her ears perked up.

"I also checked his soul, hoping to understand the cause of his death by exploring his consciousness." Thor paused, tapping his chin with the spine of a book, "But his soul is gone."

"Meow?"

"His soul disappeared completely, cleanly, like a bowl you licked."

"... As long as you are happy."

Thor chuckled softly, fell on the bed, put the book on his face, and looked like he was going to sleep.

"Anyway, I'm afraid this journey won't be boring."

Kate saw Thor lying down, and he curled up in the chair again and closed his eyes.

"Anyway... I hope you're happy."

A level three boss is on the airship, so even if something unexpected happens, it would be like watching a drama for others.

He's just a cat, what's there to worry about?

The next morning Kate understood why Thor said the journey would not be boring.

Because the door of their room was violently knocked on early in the morning.

"Mr. Saul! Mr. Saul! Are you in there?"

Thor slowly opened his eyes.

He slept for only an hour last night and spent the rest of the time meditating.

The reason why he didn't get up was that a normal person would be very sleepy at this time and would not wake up immediately to open the door.

Kate had woken up a long time ago. He ignored the increasingly loud knocks on the door, stretched like a cat, and then turned his head to look at the scenery outside the small round window.

Just when Thor was thinking that the time was about right and it was time to go, the door of the room was suddenly opened silently.

At the same time, a weak wave of magic power spread through the small eye of the door lock.

"Hmm? The door is open? You are quite skilled."

Thor sat up, the book on his face falling to his lap, "What's going on?"

He had a blank expression on his face and looked as if he had not yet woken up.

"Why didn't you open my door without my permission?"

His eyes swept over the three or four people outside the door, and finally fell on the middle-aged man standing against the left door frame.

That man should be a wizard apprentice. Judging from the fluctuation of his mental power, he has reached level three. There is no need to worry about the alienation problem of a thirty-year-old apprentice.

The other person had a gloomy face and looked more like someone who had been woken up early in the morning than Thor did.

Thor asked with a puzzled look: "What's the matter?"

The servant who had once guided Thor spoke first.

"Mr. Thor, there was an accident with a guest on the airship. We would like to understand the situation from you."

"Hmm?" Thor showed a hint of surprise, then pointed at himself, "Me?"

Five minutes later, Thor was taken alone to an empty room on the upper floor.

The room was very clean, with only a whole wall of cabinets, a long table, and two chairs.

Everyone else left, leaving only the gloomy man.

He asked Thor to sit down and sat opposite him.

"My name is Paul, and I'm going to ask you a few questions. Don't try to lie."

A third-level wizard apprentice named Paul placed a candle on an empty table and lightly touched the candle with his fingertips. The candle began to burn with a "hiss".

Thor stared at the candle until Paul pulled out a chair and sat down, then he looked at Paul again.

"You are very brave, but it doesn't matter. As long as you tell the truth, I won't make things difficult for you." Paul leaned back in his chair and didn't seem to care too much about interrogating Saul.

"Are you the wizard apprentice?"

"Just answer my questions," Paul said in a low and firm voice. "What is your relationship with businessman Mike?"

Sure enough, Mike's death was discovered by them.

It’s so efficient.

The other person died in the bedroom at night, and they discovered the clues in the early morning.

Do they check passengers' vital signs every day? "Mike and I got to know each other after we exchanged a few words while waiting in line before boarding," Thor said truthfully. "Could something have happened to Mike?"

Paul still did not answer Thor's question, but asked again: "Someone saw you meet again in his room after dinner. Why would you meet after dinner if you were just queuing together?"

Thor immediately moved his body and sat up straighter.

Paul on the opposite side saw Thor's reaction and immediately narrowed his eyes.

Thor's eyes wandered for a moment, and he suddenly took a breath, "Well, actually, now that I think about it, I still find it incredible. If I tell the truth, I'm afraid you will think I'm still lying."

Paul glanced at the candle and said like a dead man: "Don't worry about that. As long as you don't lie, I can make sure that no innocent people will be implicated."

Thor suddenly found it interesting that Paul actually made such a promise to an ordinary person.

Is this promise just lip service or is it genuine? "Okay."

Next, Saul told Paul about the conversation between him and Mike in the room.

Of course, when it comes to throwing dice, he just said that he was good at it, but he didn't explain the specific reasons why he was good at it.

Paul is clearly not interested in Saul's past, and he seems to be relying on the candles on the table to confirm that Saul is telling the truth.

But when he heard Mike take out a white porcelain kitten, he suddenly sat up straight while leaning on the bench.

"White porcelain kitten?" He stared at Thor. "What color are the kitten's eyes?"

"red."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, that white porcelain kitten was all white except for its red eyes, so I remember it very clearly."

Paul seemed a little uneasy.

This made Thor even more interested. "Master Wizard, have you also heard of 'The Cat Returns'? Can that white porcelain kitten really bring luck to people?"

But Paul still didn't answer him, but asked Thor one last question.

"Was Mike still alive when you left the room?"

"Alive... Do you mean he is dead now?"

Paul stood up and said, "You can go now."

Thor opened his mouth and quickly closed it, "Okay."

He stood up and walked out of the room.

Outside the door, there stood several servants who had just followed them.

They seemed very surprised to see Thor coming out unharmed, and they all looked at Paul in the room.

Paul made a gesture and these people made way.

Thor glanced inside the room and saw the only wizard apprentice there, frowning and thinking about something.
