Condes Mountains

Condes Mountains

Dasong was carefully wrapping the rope around his arm, and he didn't forget to ask Ding Can for credit: "How about it? I'm pretty good, right?"

"If you had discovered it earlier, I wouldn't have fallen so miserably."

Joseph was in a rare mood to argue with him and moved his shoulders a few times to stretch his muscles.

"Of course, if you hadn't arrived in time, we might have missed it." Ding Can affirmed.

Dasong walked towards her and was relieved to see that no one was injured. "By the way, where are those upright-eared martens being held? Are they all right?"

The reason why they chose to cooperate with Dave was because they had the minks as leverage. He chose to inform the action team in the hope that the minks could be rescued better.

"Further in, there's a large resting area. The members of the Cheetah all rest there. I just followed the route Dave took me back and found that there was only an entrance. I couldn't get out, so I groped my way here."

Ding Can raised his head and looked at the big hole above his head that Joseph had just smashed, and asked uncertainly: "Can you still get up from here?"

This cave entrance looks even more difficult to climb than the previous slope that was impossible to climb.

Ye Shan shook her head. "Without tools, it's impossible to climb to the cave entrance. We can only find another way out. But there's no rush. Take us to see the poachers first."

We must take action tonight, otherwise more upright-eared martens will be harmed.

Dave also came back, and now there are eight people in the "Cheetah" team, which is twice as many as them.

What's more, when facing those vicious people in front of them, the fighting power of himself and Dasong is almost negligible, and it is already good enough that they can not be a drag.

"I'm worried that if we go up against the poachers, our chances of winning are slim."

Ye Shan spread out the layer of cloth on the back of her hand again, tied it tighter, tied a knot at the end, and stuffed the excess cloth inside.

"Don't worry, I'm not that stupid. I won't confront you head-on. Besides, we are in the dark, which gives us more advantages."

Dasong came over and said, "Then let's set off quickly. It will be dawn in a few hours."

"Have you told Myron about this?"

The four of them were walking along the underground river. After a while, they would go out through a cave and walk for another twenty to thirty minutes.

"Well, I figured I couldn't keep it a secret for long, so I told it to Mr. Mellen's face. He insisted on coming along, and I had to talk him out of it for a long time."

Before leaving, Myron gave him many instructions before letting him go.

"I'm afraid he is the most anxious person at this time."

The "Cheetah" incident has become a knot in his heart. Now that there is a breakthrough, Myron must want to see the results first more than anyone else.

Dasong echoed, "That's right. That's why I promised Mr. Mellen before I left that we would rescue the mink herd and bring the poachers to justice."

Since you have already promised him, you must behave better and give him a satisfactory answer.

Dasong has always been clear about the responsibilities of a forest ranger and has always yearned for them, and he also hopes to help Mellen achieve his wish.

"You'd better stay back." Ye Shan always felt that this kid was reckless and it would be bad if he alerted the enemy.

"Which way to go next?"

Ding Can raised his hand and pointed: "It's just ahead, we'll be there soon."

*

"Turn the corner ahead and walk about twenty or thirty meters along the corridor, and you'll be there." Ding Can lowered his voice.

The cave was already quiet, and now it was the dead of night when everything was silent. Any slight movement would be easily discovered, let alone the footsteps of the four of them.

Ye Shan paused and said, "You guys wait here first, I'll go over and take a look."

"Well, what should I do?" Dasong was about to go up and ask, but Joseph's arm just stopped him in the chest.

"Wait and don't move."

It's fine if he's not allowed to go, but why does the big guy have to stay here? Dasong looked puzzled: "Why don't you go?"

Joseph turned his head away: "I'm not good at hiding."

Dasong suddenly realized what was happening and tapped his fingers twice: "Haha, sometimes building up a muscular body isn't such a good thing."

"Okay, stop talking," Ding Can grabbed his arm, "We'll just wait here."

On the other side, Ye Shan had tiptoed towards the cave entrance. Several lights were lit around the hall. The dim light found its way into the corridor and projected two or three meters forward.

She stopped at the edge of the light, standing right in the shadows, using the darkness to hide her tall figure, and poked her head to look inside.

The scene was the same as what Ding Can had described. At the entrance of one of the caves, there was a person leaning against the wall and carving words on stone. He should be the Lao Wu she mentioned.

Apart from that, I didn't see anyone else as they were all resting in their respective rooms.

This is a good opportunity. I can find a way to try to get rid of the person in front of me first.

Ye Shan checked the features of the caves around her, stepped back a distance, quickly pulled out the short knife from her waist, and held the back of the knife in her mouth.

After running his hands along the stone wall of the cave, he locked onto a few depressions and stepped on them with his toes. When he was about to reach the top, he grabbed the protruding stone with one hand.

The weight of her entire body was concentrated on the stone. She slightly bent her back and swayed lightly at first. When she reached the highest point, the muscles on her waist tightened.

Taking advantage of the arch of her lower back, Ye Shan exerted force on her waist and raised one leg to reach the other side of the stone wall.

The long legs were spread out almost to a straight angle, just enough to match the width of the corridor, fixing the body above, and the whole person was pressed against the stone.

In order to facilitate traveling at night, she changed into black clothes, which hid her figure very well in the cave and would not be discovered for a while.

After confirming that everything was correct, she pinched a small stone that had been stuffed in her pocket between her fingertips and flicked it forward with force.

With a thud, the stone fell to the ground.

It was a very subtle sound, but it still couldn't escape Lao Wu's ears. He stopped moving his hands, raised his head instantly, and looked in the direction of the corridor with sharp eyes.

He first turned his head to look back, and saw that the captured woman was still sleeping on her side facing inside.

Lao Wu then stood up, picked up a flashlight, turned it on and walked towards the corridor.

With a slight lift of his wrist, the beam of light emitted by the powerful flashlight shone far into the dark cave.

Apart from the dust floating in the air, there was not even a trace of a flying insect.

After taking a few steps, I could only hear the sound of my own footsteps echoing around me.

It was probably a fallen stone. This did happen occasionally in the cave. He suppressed his doubts and was about to go back, but he heard the small sound in front of him again.

This time I saw clearly that a stone was rolling down from the stone wall somewhere in front and then stopped quickly.

Lao Wu continued to move forward, the flashlight focused on the stones, nothing unusual.

Just as I was about to look up, I heard a gust of wind above my head. Before I could react, a dark figure loomed over me.

All the weight fell on him, and he fell back a little due to inertia.

The next second, his upper body became the fulcrum of the attacker. The attacker grabbed the flashlight with one hand, strangled him across his throat, and covered his mouth tightly with the other hand.

Then a cold blade was pressed against his throat, and he heard a low, threatening voice: "Don't move."

He recognized that this was the woman he had fought with on the snowy mountain. He had not been treated well by her, and the injury on his wrist was a reminder of this.

But of course Lao Wu would not be afraid to take any action just because of such words. He would not allow himself to be coerced by others.

Ignoring the coldness coming from the tip of the knife, he quickly raised his hand to grab the arm across his neck, and pushed his body forward, trying to knock the man over.

The fingers were also directly grasping the blade. In this case, even if a few fingers were broken, it would be much better than having the throat cut.

In the fight the day before, he always felt that the opponent had successfully launched a sneak attack and used some clever tricks.

If they really fight with bare hands, there will be a huge disparity in strength between the two. If you don't fear life and death, the other party will definitely not get away with it.

But he didn't expect that even after using most of his strength, he couldn't move that slender arm at all.

There was a sharp pain in the palm of my hand, and there must have been a bloody scratch on my neck.

The two men were competing with each other, stuck in place, their muscles tensed.

Lao Wu's mouth and nose were covered, oxygen could not enter his lungs smoothly, his breathing could not keep up, and double images caused by black aperture appeared in front of his eyes.

But he couldn't break free from those arms, and he hadn't even seen the other person's face.

Even if I really fall into this woman's hands, I have to make her suffer.

Lao Wu gritted his teeth and used up his last bit of strength to kick forward a few times, hoping to be lucky enough to kick a few stones and send a signal to those people inside who were sleeping like dead pigs.

Ye Shan sensed his thoughts and exerted even more force.

Lao Wu had already closed his eyes tightly, but his feet were still struggling uncontrollably, and he actually found a stone.

After kicking it up, it hit the wall with such force that some gravel was knocked off the wall and fell to the ground with a series of noises.

Immediately afterwards, he fainted.

Ye Shan laid the man down on the spot and turned off the flashlight. The light suddenly went out and she bent down to listen carefully to the sounds around her.

The light changes and her eyes need time to adapt. Now it is pitch black in front of her eyes and she cannot move rashly.

The sound just now was hard to ignore, and someone might come running over soon after hearing it.

She put her hand under Lao Wu's armpit and dragged him to the corner of the cave where Joseph and the other two were waiting.

Dasong looked at the person for a long time and asked: "Is he really dizzy or is he just pretending to be dizzy?"

"You were the one who made the move. If you had pretended to faint, you would have died long ago." Ye Shan squatted on one knee on the ground, signaling them to stop making any noise.

Those poachers won't all come here, so it would be better to disperse them and deal with them in batches.

After a while, footsteps were heard in the corridor. "Old Five?"

They didn't see Lao Wu in the cave and came over to look for him. Ding Can still remembered the voice, it was the poacher named "Big Head".

Ding Can was listening attentively when someone suddenly grabbed her wrist. She turned around and saw Dasong staring at her nervously.

She patted the back of Dasong's hand and continued to listen to the sound from the corridor. The footsteps were obviously not one, perhaps two or three people were approaching.

Ye Shan made a gesture to Joseph that she couldn't understand, and the two of them accurately mixed their footsteps with the footsteps of the person coming, gradually approaching the cave entrance.

The distance was getting closer and closer. Just before the figure appeared in front of him, Ye Shan rushed out with a dagger in her hand. Her speed was so fast that only a shadow could be seen.
