Chapter 19 Chapter 19 Long time no see

After leaving the hospital, Yu Wan went to the park in the old community, which was half an hour away from the company by subway. Unfortunately, after asking several elderly people, none of their families were in the rental business.

Fortunately, the park had nice scenery. Under the sunshine, the grass was green and the air was fresh. Yu Wan felt disappointed and was comforted. She took many beautiful photos of the greenery.

Just as I was about to leave the park, I received a message from Lin's mother.

Mother Lin: [Yu Wan, are you free today? The kids know you paid for their snacks last time, so we'd like to invite you over for lunch. We're planning to make dumplings at noon today. Would you like to come over and help them?]

Yu Wan thought of the reserved and innocent faces of the children in the orphanage. Since she was fine now, she agreed to Mother Lin's request.

As usual, Yu Wan took bus 608 and bought two cartons of milk on the way.

After entering the orphanage, Mother Lin noticed what she was carrying and scolded her for spending money recklessly. Yu Wan smiled sheepishly, "Milk isn't expensive."

Mother Lin patted her hands lovingly and said, "Thank you on behalf of the children. You are so kind. They will remember this."

Yu Wan smiled and didn't answer.

She didn't buy milk for the children to make them remember her.

To avoid accidents that threaten the children's lives, the kitchen of Xin'ai Orphanage is far away from the study and accommodation areas.

Yu Wan was led by Mother Lin into the kitchen, a spacious and clean room with a long stainless steel table in the middle. Mother Lin had bought it specifically for the children to learn how to cook and to teach them survival skills so they wouldn't starve to death when they left the orphanage.

When Yu Wan entered, the dough had already been kneaded. Several older children were sitting around the table, skillfully cutting and rolling out the dough. They pressed the cut round dough with the palm of their hand, and with the rolling pin, it turned into a thin dumpling wrapper in a moment. They dipped it in dry flour and threw it aside, piling it into a small hill.

A slender and beautiful hand picked up the dumpling wrapper, wrapped it with vegetable filling, held it with a broad palm, and skillfully pinched out beautiful ruffles.

Only then did Yu Wan notice the owner of these beautiful hands.

A young man with outstanding looks, who looked not much older than her, with deep brow bones and a high nose bridge, was wrapping dumplings seriously. His brows and eyes were clean and gentle, like a green branch blown by the wind, reminding Yu Wan of the weeping willow she saw in the park today.

Seeing her mesmerized, Mother Lin teased her with a smile, "What's wrong? After watching him for so long, have you even remembered who he is?"

Yu Wan was a little confused.

Does she know this man?

What does it mean to remember who he is?

The young man happened to look up at this moment, and their eyes met briefly in mid-air.

He smiled, put down the dumplings in his hand, stood up, called out "Mother Lin", then his eyes fell on her and he called out her name with incredible accuracy.

The voice was low and pleasant, like a feather landing on her heart.

"Yu Wan, long time no see."

Yu Wan hesitated to move, and only came back to her senses after being pushed by Mother Lin. She greeted the young man, "Hello."

Mother Lin smiled and shook her head, "I don't understand you young people. You were so close when you were young, why are you so reserved now that you've grown up?"

The young man explained, "Mother Lin, Yu Wan and I haven't seen each other for many years. It's normal for her to be unfamiliar with me."

As he spoke, the man introduced himself to Yu Wan: "Lu Sui, my name is Lu Sui, do you remember me now?"

Yu Wan was still confused.

Mother Lin thought of something and nodded in agreement, "Yes, you should be more familiar with the name Lu Sui."

The man's gaze was still on her, and the emotions in his eyes were somewhat complicated. Yu Wan could not understand the overly heavy emotions. She thought carefully in her mind and found that she knew very little about this man named Lu Sui, without even a fragment of memory.

This is so weird.

The original owner's roommates and Mother Lin from the orphanage, she has memories of interacting with these people in her mind, why is Lu Sui the only one who doesn't have one?

Fortunately, the other party did not embarrass her and took the initiative to change the subject, "Yu Wan, please sit next to me. The dough and dumpling fillings are ready. Just help me make the dumplings."

Yu Wan nodded, "Okay, I'll go wash my hands first."

Most of the children in the orphanage are between seven and ten years old. Younger children are easily adopted. Most couples who cannot have children are worried that the children are too old when they adopt them, and even if they adopt them, the children will not be close to them. Therefore, there are few children aged three or four in the Xin'ai Orphanage. Except for those with congenital disabilities like Lin Heng, the children will generally stay in the orphanage until they become adults, and then be arranged by relevant government departments to find a job in other welfare institutions. They don't need to earn more money, they just want to fill their stomachs and survive.

When Yu Wan sat down, Lu Sui was teaching a girl how to make dumplings. He said softly, "It's okay. A little less filling is fine. Too much filling won't hold together and will break easily when cooked. Pinch the middle first, fix a point, then pinch the ends. Take your time. Don't rush."

Yu Wan looked at it for a few seconds, then looked away and started wrapping dumplings carefully.

There are three kinds of dumpling fillings: pumpkin and egg, leek and meat, and vegan cabbage filling.

Yu Wan was wrapping dumplings very seriously. Lin Heng squeezed in between her and Lu Juefeng without her knowing when. He was holding the same black and white puppy doll as last time, and watched her make dumplings with his beautiful black eyes.

Yu Wan was thinking of playing a prank, so she deliberately hooked the tip of Lin Heng's nose with her finger, and rubbed the white flour on it, making him look like a little cat.

Yu Wan made a cat sign to him. Lin Heng covered his nose and looked at her in shock. His eyes were wide open and rounder than grapes.

Yu Wan laughed out loud.

Lu Sui noticed the movement next to him and turned his gaze from Lin Heng to Yu Wan, with the corners of his lips slightly raised. Yu Wan felt quite embarrassed as if he had been caught playing a prank.

She quickly stood up and picked up the tray full of dumplings. "I'll take the dumplings to the kitchen first."

"good."

Lu Sui lowered his head and continued to make dumplings, the corners of his mouth curved up for a long time. The girl who had just learned to make dumplings from Lu Sui tilted her head to look at him.

When Lu Sui cast his gaze over, he leaned close to his ear and asked, "Brother, do you like Sister Yu Wan?"

The corners of Lu Sui's lips rose again, and after a moment, they fell back to their original position. He raised a finger and placed it in front of his lips. "Keep it a secret."

Yu Wan walked into the kitchen carrying a tray. Mother Lin and the chef Aunt Tian were boiling water.

Mother Lin asked Yu Wan to put the tray next to the stove. Seeing Yu Wan's raised arm, she casually asked, "Yu Wan, that burn scar on your elbow hasn't healed yet?"

Yu Wan froze in place.

She slowly turned to look at Mother Lin: "How did you know there was a burn scar on my elbow?"

Mother Lin didn't notice Yu Wan's expression. She continued busying herself, "You forgot. That was when you first learned to cook with Aunt Tian and got burned by the edge of the hot pan."

Yu Wan suddenly couldn't tell the difference between reality and fiction. If the original owner had burn scars like her, then was her current body the original owner's or hers?

If it was the original owner, how could there be another person with such a high degree of body overlap.

If it was her, how to explain the same burn scar on her elbow.

Yu Wan was absent-minded during the meal. When she was leaving, Lu Sui offered to take her back to school. Yu Wan was about to refuse, but finally agreed under the burning gaze of Mother Lin.

Lu Sui was driving a Lexus SUV with a high chassis. Yu Wan had just opened the back door when she heard Lu Sui's voice.

"Yu Wan, are you treating me as a driver?"

Lu Sui didn't mean to be embarrassed, and his voice was mixed with a hint of teasing, and it was very familiar.

Yu Wan was a little embarrassed: "I'm sorry."

Close the rear door, sit in the passenger seat, and fasten your seat belt.

Yu Wan's movements were a little restrained, mainly because she was not familiar with Lu Sui, although from Mother Lin's account, she and this man named Lu Sui had gotten along well in the orphanage when they were young.

However, Lu Sui was adopted when he was seven years old. She was only five years old at that time. She never saw Lu Sui again after that, so it is understandable that she did not have a deep impression of Lu Sui.

The car was driving smoothly on the road. Yu Wan heard Lu Sui say, "Yu Wan, you graduated in June this year, right?"

Yu Wan was a little surprised, but still answered him: "Yes, the defense will be in mid-May, and the graduation certificate will be obtained around June."

Lu Sui nodded and spoke as if he were an old friend: "Then you haven't rented a house yet?"

Yu Wan: "Yeah, I'm still looking. The rental prices in Hai City are quite high, so it's not easy to find a suitable one."

As long as she finds a house to move out before her graduation defense, Yu Wan still has about a month. She plans to move into the dormitory in May, half a month later than her roommate Mao Xinling.

I can save half a month's rent.

Lu Sui seemed to be lost in thought. "Yu Wan, I have a friend who works as a real estate agent. I can give you his contact information. You can tell him your requirements for renting a house and he can help you screen them. This will save you time."

Yu Wan was a little surprised.

As if afraid that Yu Wan would think he was a liar, Lu Sui explained, "My friend has a real estate agent qualification certificate and works for a relatively well-known company in the industry. I'll give you his contact information. It's up to you to choose whether it's suitable for you. Is that okay?"

Realizing that his hesitation and vigilance had been seen through by the other party, Yu Wan smiled sheepishly, "Then thank you for your help."

Lu Sui's lips curved gently, "You're welcome. Actually, I should be the one thanking you."

Yu Wan was puzzled.

Thank her? Why should I thank her?
