Chapter 22 Happy Everyday

It was said to be half an hour, but Han Lin didn't get home until after eleven o'clock that night.

Han Xiaojun fell asleep while waiting, and Chaoge returned to the living room from the bedroom, turned on a small light, and painted while waiting.

He is drawing Han Lin.

Chaoge has his own style of painting, especially when drawing figures, one can tell it is his brushstrokes at a glance, so he rarely draws a person realistically now.

But Han Lin is different.

Han Lin's appearance had long been deeply imprinted in his mind.

He painted an oil painting this time. Chaoge is best at watercolor and sketching. His lines are simple and lively, but in order to draw drafts, he usually draws on a board.

I haven't touched oil painting much since I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts.

But as he picked up the pen, Han Lin in his eyes was still taking shape on the canvas bit by bit.

When Han Lin got home, Chaoge hadn't finished painting yet, but Han Lin knew Chaoge was painting him as soon as he looked over.

"When did this happen?" Han Lin asked about the scene in Chaoge's painting.

Chaoge gestured: [Last time you were on night duty, I was watching you reading inside.]

"Am I that handsome?" Han Lin unbuttoned his neck and sat next to Chaoge.

[Just a little bit worse than me.] Chaoge gestured with a smile.

Chaoge leaned back, looked at the painting from a distance, and gestured: "It looks good. How about mounting it at home?"

"Just draw a picture of the two of us and hang it up at home. It's not a big deal to hang a picture of just me." Han Lin said, "If others see it, they will definitely say that Han Lin is a narcissist."

[That’s right, I’ll find time to draw another one of us.]

"One more thing." Han Lin said, "I can't go to Room 404 tomorrow."

[Why?] Chaoge asked.

"There is a difficult patient in the hospital recently. We will have a meeting tomorrow to discuss it," said Han Lin.

"Okay then, tomorrow we'll send Han Xiaojun home first, and then we'll take you to the hospital." Chaoge was a little disappointed, but still followed suit.

"I'll play with you next time." Han Lin said, "Have you booked a restaurant for our anniversary?"

Chaoge nodded: [Everything has been arranged.]

Han Lin said: "Don't worry, no matter what happens that day, I will be with you."

[Let’s not set such a flag.] Chaoge said.

"That's right, I'm tired. I'll go take a shower first. Don't paint too late. Go to bed early." Han Lin stood up and said.

[I'm not painting anymore. I'll continue another day.] Chaoge began to pack up his painting supplies.

Han Lin stood by and waited for him.

Han Lin usually doesn't touch Chaoge's painting supplies. Chaoge has his own habits of packing things up. If he touches them, he might end up making things worse.

After putting away his things, Chaoge placed the painting in a corner of the living room and the painting tools back in the study. The two of them slowly walked towards the bedroom.

"I smell the aroma of tomato beef brisket." Han Lin said suddenly.

Chaoge laughed: "Would you like tomato and beef brisket noodles? I can make you a sunny-side-up egg with a little salt."

Han Lin: "Eat, eat, eat. I'm going to take a shower first."

Chaoge patted Han Lin's lower back and turned to go to the kitchen to cook noodles.

After the water entered the pot, Chaoge was distracted and thought about whether to ask Han Xiaojun to get up for a midnight snack, but finally gave up the idea.

Let Xiaojun have a good sleep.

After all, he is running away from home, so we should respect his behavior.

The next day, Han Lin had to go to the hospital for a meeting at nine o'clock, so they got up a little later than usual.

When he got up, Chaoge was surprised to find that Han Xiaojun was already awake and was teasing Xiao Laji in the living room.

The little piece of garbage lay limply on Han Xiaojun's feet, like water that could not be wiped away.

"Get up so early." Han Lin said.

Han Xiaojun stood up: "Brother."

"Well, get up and wash up and prepare for dinner." Han Lin said, "We'll take you home after dinner."

Han Xiaojun stood there hesitantly: "I don't want to go back."

"If you don't go back, no one will take care of you. I have to go to the hospital, and your sister-in-law has to go see a friend." Han Lin said, "I haven't told you about your sudden visit to our house yesterday, so don't negotiate with me."

Han Xiaojun pursed his lips: "I won't cause any trouble to you. I can stay here by myself."

"I won't let you stay home alone." Han Lin said, "Go back."

Han Xiaojun said: "I don't want to go back. I ran away from home."

"Really? Then why didn't your mother call me?" Han Lin asked.

Han Xiaojun's face turned red immediately.

Although he "ran away from home", he met his second brother when he left.

The second brother wanted to take him back, but Han Xiaojun naturally refused, so he could only tell his second brother to go live at the eldest brother's house.

Although his second brother let him go, he would definitely tell his parents, so this attempt to run away from home was essentially unsuccessful.

But he still didn't want to go back.

The family is troubled.

"I don't want to go back." Han Xiaojun had no way to refute Han Lin and could only repeat it again.

"Then don't stay here, go to your classmate's house." Han Lin said.

Han Xiaojun pursed his lips, still unwilling.

Chaoge was watching anxiously from the side and tugged at Han Lin's sleeve: [How about...let him come with me?]

Han Lin's eyebrows suddenly frowned: "Are you stupid or am I crazy? Do you want him to go to Fang Shi's place to mess things up? Does he look like he can go to Room 404?"

Chaoge withered.

Han Xiaojun didn't know what Chaoge said, but from Han Lin's words, he could probably guess where Chaoge was going to take him.

Han Xiaojun didn't want to be sent home, so he immediately said, "I can go. I can go."

"You can say whatever you want. Stop talking. After dinner, put your things away and I'll take you home." Han Lin said, "Don't waste time. I have a meeting to attend."
