Fang Xiu continued forward, and after walking two miles, a sword cry resounded from the surrounding void, sounding like a dragon's roar.
Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!
The next second, countless dazzling sword energies shot out from all directions in the void, swarming towards Fang Xiu.
In a fraction of a second, Fang Xiu activated his ethereal transformation, and countless sword energies passed right through his body, leaving him completely unharmed.
Having been ambushed by the earth fire earlier, he was already on high alert, so he reacted immediately when the sword energy appeared.
Each of these sword energies was extremely powerful, no less than the full-force strike of the old Taoist using the Xuanyuan Sword.
Keep in mind that this was an ancient setup. The fact that it still maintains such power after all these years suggests that the person who set up the trap must have already reached the level of a treacherous god.
It is certain that during the great battle at Kunlun Mountain, there were definitely beings at the level of the Ghost God personally involved, and there was more than one of them.
Fang Xiu continued to venture deeper, and the further east he went, the denser the traps formed by these laws became, which also indicated that he was heading in the right direction.
To conserve his spiritual energy, he activated his ethereal form and unleashed his black flame wings, speeding all the way.
After traveling a hundred miles, a mountain peak suddenly appeared before us.
The mountain peaks soared into the clouds, steep and dark red, as if stained with blood, and were shrouded in an eerie black light and shadow.
Above the mountain peak, a blood-red cloud covered the sky, with countless corpses and remains silently suspended within it, appearing and disappearing intermittently.
From a distance, an aura of death permeated the air.
Fang Xiu was quite certain that the mountain had not been in his sight before; it had appeared completely out of the blue.
Just like in a game, the screen only loads when you get close.
The mountain is covered with a dense array of laws and regulations, more than twice as many as those in the Kunlun Mountains outside. Similarly, there are also more corpses on the mountain.
He guessed that this was likely the core location of the battlefield.
Fang Xiu slowly walked towards the mountain. With his ethereal powers, even if there were ten times more laws and regulations in front of him, they would not be able to stop him.
Upon entering, the ethereal effect immediately dissipated. Although the journey had been short, the ethereal effect had been extremely taxing on spiritual energy, and half of it was already visible.
The moment he dispelled the illusion, he truly felt the terror of this mountain. The surroundings were filled with endless malevolent energy, resentment, and death energy. Anyone with a weak will who entered would be instantly turned into a madman who only knew how to kill by these violent auras.
Undeterred by the impact of these malevolent energies, Fang Xiu began to explore the mountain. However, after taking only two steps, he heard a faint sound coming from the void.
"Come...come...come..."
Fang Xiu's eyes flickered slightly. There were still living people here?
People who survived from ancient times?
Without hesitation, he walked directly toward the direction from which the sound came. Before long, a dilapidated palace appeared before him, and the sound gradually became clearer.
When he entered the palace, he was shocked to find that it was filled with bones, all kinds of skeletons mixed together, and it was impossible to piece together a complete shape.
The most bizarre thing is that these skeletons are all trying their best to climb towards the center of the palace, with their skeletal arms raised high, as if they are fighting for something.
In the very center of the palace stood a huge bronze mirror, taller than a person, covered in rust, its surface dim.
Clearly, the purpose of those skeletons was this mirror.
"Come...come..."
A clear voice called out from the mirror.
Fang Xiu frowned slightly. The source of the sound wasn't a person, but a mirror?
Just as he was thinking this, an old, withered arm, covered with age spots, suddenly stretched out from behind the mirror.
Immediately afterwards, an old man dressed in ancient white robes crawled out from behind the mirror, looking frail and old, as if he might die at any moment.
Putting aside his appearance, he does have a somewhat otherworldly and ethereal air about him.
The old man in white robes looked at Fang Xiu, a look of surprise appearing in his cloudy old eyes, his body trembling with excitement.
"I am not alone! I am not alone! I never thought that tens of thousands of years later, someone would still come to this Kunlun Mountain. Boy, I ask you, have we won?"
His gaze was hopeful, and his cloudy eyes shone slightly.
Fang Xiu remained calm, showing no emotion whatsoever at encountering a figure from ancient times.
"Are you from ancient times?"
The white-robed elder nodded: "I am Xuandu, the leader of the thirty-six divine generals of the Heavenly Court!"
You haven't answered my question yet: Were those demons destroyed?
Evil?
Fang Xiu's eyes flickered slightly; it seemed this was an ancient term for the eerie.
He shook his head and said calmly, "No."
The old man was taken aback, and asked urgently, "What's the situation outside now?"
"The bizarre is rampant, and the gods and immortals are nowhere to be found."
The old man's eyes dimmed instantly, as if he had lost the meaning of life.
He remained silent for a moment before saying quietly, "In this day and age, are evil spirits called 'weird'?"
"Never mind, it doesn't matter anymore. I didn't expect to lose in the end."
At this point, a murderous glint suddenly flashed across his face: "If the West hadn't betrayed us and sided with the evil demons back then, how could my mighty Heavenly Court have lost!"
"Sigh." He sighed again, as if he had used up all his strength, and waved to Fang Xiu: "Forget it, I'm not going to live much longer, it's no use saying anything now."
"I may die, but the Heavenly Court's legacy cannot be broken. Although I don't know your identity, as long as you are human, that's enough. Boy, would you be willing to become my disciple?"
"Unwilling."
Old man: "..."
He was stunned, seemingly never expecting such an answer.
