The basement was filled with a strong smell of blood and was filled with human corpses. The blonde girl had no way of finding Gu Huaiwei immediately.
At this time, a woman's voice came from the basement.
"My dear daughter, the skin I just peeled off last night was not treated properly. The forehead area was bitten by insects and needs to be soaked in formalin."
"Mom, just ask Grandma to handle this kind of thing. I'm catching mice." The blonde girl said coquettishly, "A sweet little mouse has sneaked into my basement. The little mouse is so good at running. She wants to play hide-and-seek with me."
The woman's voice was intelligent and gentle: "Your grandmother has Alzheimer's. You want that face. You have to handle your own affairs. You have to handle it yourself."
The blonde girl held her face in her hands as she squatted in front of a corpse, muttering to herself, "My father is gone. The person who loved me the most in my family is gone. Which little mouse bit my father to death? Tell me, should I punish that naughty little mouse severely?"
Of course, the corpse had no way to respond to her words.
The woman urged a few more times upstairs.
The blonde girl then reluctantly went upstairs.
After going up, she locked the basement door.
Gu Huaiwei pricked up her ears and listened to the sound of her footsteps leaving.
Gu Huaiwei came out only after the blonde girl left completely.
There is only a three-centimeter-thick wooden board on the top of the basement.
If you want to get up, just break it.
She didn't even need to go out the door properly.
The skinned man squirmed his body in pain and crawled towards Gu Huaiwei.
Gu Huaiwei glanced at him and said, "Don't come here to me. You pointed out my location just now. I'm lucky I didn't come to settle the score with you. Don't expect me to help you with anything."
And the skinned man seemed to realize that he had done something wrong.
He stopped moving.
He looked at Gu Huaiwei with his bloodshot eyes, his hands groping in his tattered clothes.
He pulled out a smashed lollipop.
"Ah...ah..." He wanted to give the lollipop to Gu Huaiwei.
"For me?"
The skinning man nodded.
Gu Huaiwei took the lollipop.
She put it in her pocket first.
The skinning man relaxed a little when he saw Gu Huaiwei take it, then he squirmed his body again and crawled behind Gu Huaiwei.
He dug out a wallet from among a pile of trash.
Then he gave the wallet to Gu Huaiwei.
Gu Huaiwei opened her wallet and saw the ID card and photo inside.
She immediately understood the man's intention.
"You want me to contact your family after I escape and tell them about your current situation, right?"
The skinning man showed a lonely expression. He nodded and then shook his head.
I saw him pinching his neck with both hands, then opening his pitch-black mouth and tilting his head.
Gu Huaiwei speculated: "You want me to tell them that you are dead and ask them not to wait for you anymore, is that what you mean?"
The skinned man nodded and pointed at the pocket where Gu Huaiwei had put the lollipop.
With his bleeding fingers, he wrote two words on the floor.
"A thank you gift."
Gu Huaiwei stuffed the wallet into her pocket.
She wiped the words "thank you" off the ground with her foot.
Instead of wiping it clean, she scooped a spoonful of formaldehyde and poured it over the two words, then covered them with a layer of soil that seeped in from outside. Now the two words were completely invisible.
After the man whose face was peeled off finished doing this, he ran to a corner on his own accord, hugged his knees, buried his hideous face in his knees, remained silent, and tried to reduce his presence.
Gu Huaiwei ignored him.
She crawled to the exit of the basement and lifted the locked wooden door. There was a gap as big as a finger between the door and the edge. Gu Huaiwei broke the wooden board with her hands along the gap and then crawled out.
The woman upstairs was listening to the radio, and beautiful classical music was coming from the radio.
The sound of Gu Huaiwei breaking the wooden boards would definitely disturb them.
The sound of the broadcast from upstairs suddenly stopped.
"My dear daughter, the mice are gnawing at the floor again. It's so noisy that my eardrums are hurting. These damn mice are always trying to destroy our home. Go get rid of them quickly!"
The blonde girl seemed a little impatient.
"Don't call me anymore, I'm dealing with a rotten human skin mask!"
"Why don't you keep a good eye on the mice? The little mouse we just skinned last night made a mess of the attic."
"I'm so annoyed! I'm so annoyed! My brother is missing, my father lost his head in the woods, my grandmother is sick, and you're sick too, mom. All the housework has fallen on me! I don't want to do it anymore! If you ask me to work again, I'll run away from home!"
Her voice grew shrill.
The feet made a thud-thud sound on the floor.
Gu Huaiwei also heard the sound of her sharpening the razor, which was sinister and seemed to be hanging over her head.
“Crack, crack, crack—”
The woman then comforted him, "You have a really bad temper, kid. Never mind. Let grandma handle it. But if I do, I guess you won't be able to use your face any more."
Last time, Gu Huaiwei found the center of the formation in the lady’s room.
It's troublesome to set up the formation.
They will most likely repair the formation's core that was destroyed last time, rather than wasting energy destroying the original formation and then setting up a new one.
She first hid under the stairs.
Grandma walked down the stairs tremblingly, leaning on a cane.
She walked towards the basement.
